Just a fun topic, to get those mental cauldrons bubbling during these dark days!
Snow still seems to linger around where I live (Mi, so yeah, its nothing new). While I'm not a huge fan of the white stuff, there is still something mystical to the cold culmination of crystals. I'm sure most of you have heard the statement that "No two snowflakes are alike", and really pondering/meditating on that gives such a static, seemingly permanent (>_<) fixture a new life of its own.
What you you think about snow? What feelings do you have when it falls/build up, and why? More interestingly, what are your feelings towards the white stuff after the winter holidays are long over?
As I stated above, I'm not a huge fan. When you live about 5 miles away from things (in each direction), and are without a car, you learn to play with fate a little. The buses in my area only run so long, on specific days, and I can only bother people for rides so much (I feel like crap even doing it once...). Winter is a rough season, as it can get especially cold here, with gusting winds and unforgiving visibility. I have to call in to work when rides dont seem to work out (not like it matters, my jobs expendable at this point), and getting to school has been a pain until recent. My boyfriend and I have walked home numerous nights (including Imbolc, with that beautiful Wolf moon guiding us silently), but when properly bundled up it is actually enjoyable. It gives you time to really think about what matters in life, and what is truly important. While neither of us have a car, that fact has pushed us to test our limits, and expand upon them. The snow makes loud crunches under our feet, where it had froze over, or falls in that deafening silence (which I actually love). Its a meditation in itself...ya know...when I can stop talking about witchy stuff, which seems to interest the heck out of that guy!
Snow, to me, is like a mixture of all the elements (I know, just calm down, I'll explain...). Of course, it is physically frozen water mixed with the freezing air around it, snow also embodies the cool silence that I sometimes associate with the element earth. Where does fire come in you ask? Try walking, in a -2, gusting snowstorm, without a scarf (possibly the stupidest mistakes Ive made so far). Your face gets so cold, so frozen, that it feels almost as though its burning! Those pretty little crystals that catch the sunlight can feel like freaking shurikens when you're not prepared for it. Snow like that is wild, and seemingly lacks remorse when your fingers and toes get frostbit. Frozen fire is right.
So tell me your ruminations about snow!

What you you think about snow? It is. 3nodding It comes in the autumn and goes away in the spring, my thoughts don't matter. Snow just is.
What feelings do you have when it falls/build up, and why? Goodbye, bike, see you again when the spring comes? Nothing more than that, really. I don't think about it, and neither do I feel it. I just act along. I'm used to snow, I'm used to winter, and I know how it works in here. I may not like the cold all the time, since it can make things difficult, but I try not to let it bother me. Winter is, so I do what I must.
More interestingly, what are your feelings towards the white stuff after the winter holidays are long over? It still remains.

Ah... snow. My enemy and friend.
I was born in a month of snow and my connections to Winter are strong. Winter is my favorite time of year next to Spring. Generally, I hate it when there isn't snow around the middle of December. My cheery mood is crushed and can't get into the spirit.
When snows melts, I feel like Spring will be around the corner any minute.
Honestly, I feel like a demon behind the wheel of my old Toyota when I drive in snow. twisted I love driving in it because I know how to drive in it.

It's cool and everything. I haven't had to shovel any of it this year so that's cool. I just drive through it all. My car's a beast like that.
