so, i've been playing on a selmer bundy Bb clarinet for 7 years now. it was already old and not that great when i got it, and now it's pretty much to the point where i can barely get a sound of it (and it's pretty ugly lol).
anyways, next year is my senior year when i start college auditions and if i get into the college i want to go to, i plan on being in the marching band, so i'm going to need a pretty good clarinet and since i guess bass clarinet isn't that "needed" in concert band, i'll be playing the Bb in the concert band too
so, like i said, i need a good one with a nice tone and all that jazz
sadly, the one that i really want, the buffet crampon R13, is around $5,000, and i'm NEVER going to be able to get that sad
also, what mouthpieces do you clarinet players prefer? i've heard vandoren's are pretty nice (i use vandoren reeds, so if the mouthpiece is anything like the reed, i'd probably love it)

I think that a Buffet C13 is a bit of a step up from a beginner clarinet. You could also try an E11, but I don't think it's as good. (Don't just take my word for it, though. Do your own research.)
I use a Vandoren M13 mouthpiece. I've heard that B45's are also good.

I would check into Cannonball clarinets. they're not very expensive (comparitively) and they have a nice tone. also Yamaha instruments tend to be decent if you get a good one. i play on a gigliotti 3 mouthpiece. it's really free blowing and i love it, it's a bit fatter than a normal mouthpiece, but it's really nice. i played on the Vandoren B45 my sophomore year in high school and it was nice. go to as many music stores as you can and try out all their clarinets and mouthpieces.(if you're going to buy a clarinet, don't buy a mouthpiece that sounds good on your current clarinet. it might not sound good on your new clarinet. get the clarinet first, then worry about the mouthpieces.)

hopefully, i'll be able to go to the music store in my city and see what they have but from what i remember, they only have one clarinet in the shop i think it's a yamaha
my friend got a yamaha this year, and it sounds really like.. blatty? you know? like WAHHH WAHHH WAHH maybe it's just her playing, but if not.. i don't really like the way the yamaha sounds
then again, anything is better than this crappy bundy
i'm ranting lol sorry D:
