AIM LOG: nessiaing & _ p a o cx

Kona stretched her little body and walked haid towards the waters edge. The serval was quite pleaseed with herself, she had resently managed to find the cheetah she had been tied to in her old home, when the cheetah was little more than a cub. Shortly after finding the cheetah and the begininns of her old him that the Cheetah was setting up Kona had a litter of kits. Four little ones now kept her busy, but one wouldn't be able to tell her little body had shrunk right back to its previous state.

Kona lookied around, there wasn't much activity in the area that she was living in, with the exception of those who belonged to the pride. She had grown quite comfortable in the area so the little silver serval moved towards a small river with great confidence.

Joka had spent more than a night or two nearby the home of Hetal, the lovely cheetah with whom he'd spent a very pleasant night. He'd gotten pretty comfortable for now, but he knew the restlessness would come soon. He was getting ready to leave later that day, if not the following morning, but for now he was just relaxing by the stream's edge. The gold-pelted cheetah let out a yawn, lowering his head in an attempt to catch a few more hours of sleep before starting to wander once more.

Despite his head being lowered though, his eyes refused to close. With a grumble, he rolled onto his side and forced his eyes closed, hoping sleep would come.

Konata moved swiftly to the water's edge. She didn't notice the cheetah until it rolled over. The serval froze for a moment, studying the other creature. It didn't seem dangerous, but it wasn't a member of the pride either. She wondered if she should perhaps move away and come back for water later.

She moved closer, the cheetah had is't eyes closed, she was hesitent but she moved to the edge of the water and was ready to take a sip of water, as she moved she kicked a few rocks into the water... she froze as the stones made splashing sound, she turned slowly towards the cheetah hoping if it rose she wouldn't get hurt.

"You aren't the stealthiest creature in the savanna, are you?" he asked, keeping his eyes closed. Jo still wanted to go to sleep, but he wanted whoever it was that passed by him to know that he knew they were there. "I'm not gonna try anything, so don't worry." The cheetah, with a sigh, rolled over and onto his stomach, opening his eyes as he did.

"You did interrupt my nap though. I'm Joka, Jo for short. Who're you?"

Kona smiled, happy to find that the cheetah whom she had woken was in fact friendly. "I am very sorry, its not often that I find anyone around her... or at least anyone who isn't from my home."

The little serval sat down a fair distances from the cheetah still but close enought that they could carry on a conversation comfortably. "It is nice to meet you Jo, my name is Konata, or Kona for short." She had a warm smile on her face.

"You aren't from this area are you Jo?" she inquired.

The cheetah replied with a simple shake of his head. "No, I'm just passing through. Nice to meet you too, Kona." Jo looked on, toward where Hetal told him her home was. It seemed this serval was from around here as well. "Actually I've been here for a couple of days already. It's not often you pass by a decent supply of water, so I couldn't just pass it up. You know?"

He smiled kindly at the serval. "You're from around here too?" he asked.

Kona smiled, "I know to well the trouble of travelling, until very recently I myself spent all my time travelling and searching. I was searching for a friend, who I was lucky enough to find." Thinking of her travels Kona felt an ache in her heart, they had been an interesting time in her life, but one she was ok with trading for the life she was hoping she would have know.

"Yes I am from here, though I only recently came this way. You see it was here that my friend I had spent a great portion of my life lookng for had come. " Kona looked around taking all the sights in, this was home now oddly enough. "Its a good place to be this area, and you will be safe." she told the cheetah.

"Are you sure we can't inteice you to stay and join us." Kona was always trying to recruit she wanted to see the pride grow.

Jo nodded, understanding her rather well. His own family, from before he left them in search of his independence, had been a band of travelers until they found and settled into a good home with a few other families. It was a pleasant place, but he'd grown tired of the same places and scenes around him. He longed to see more, so he left.

"Mm," he started, a small smile on his maw. "I know how that feels," came his reply. "I left a home that started out a lot like yours. I'm the restless kind, so I don't think I can settle down anywhere."

Kona nodded as she listened to Joka, some creatures were just of that nature, not ones settle, instead they chose to wonder. In a way it was a good thing they got to meet so many others, and learn new things.

"I can understand that, there was many I met who liked to travel, and would never consider settling." Kona wasn't going to push, she didn't want to anger the cheetah she was after all small enough to be a meal for him.

"Did you leave a large family behind?" Kona asked, she always had an interest in others family's and homes. It was hearing about them that had gotten her through the tough times while she searched.

"More or less, yeah," he answered, thinking back on it. "My 'family' consisted of blood ties - mother, father, siblings - and extended family and friends. As far as blood family, I'm one of 5 in my litter, and then my parents had a few more litters afterward.." Jo ran on for a moment longer, listing everyone he could remember. When he finally caught himself, he offered her an apologetic smile.

"Sorry. I may have left them, but I've got a soft spot for my family." The cheetah sighed, wondering if he ought to go back and visit them. Even if it were only for a few days, he did miss them. Dismissing the thought, though, he nodded toward the serval. "What about you? Did you settle because you have a big family?"

Kona didn't mind listening to the cheetah talk abotu his family. It was nice to hear the tone of voice, and she could feel the warmth he had for them. "Don't worry about it at all." Kona told him when he appologized for ramboling the tiny serval did it herself quite often.

"I settled partially because of family and partially because I found my real home. After I found my compainion, I had a litter of kittens. It just seemed that here would be the best place I could be. My compainion is rebuiliding the pride that we were born into it. Its going to be beautiful." Kona blushed for a moment, it was her that was ramboling now.

Jo could only nod as she thought about her future home, knowing that feeling all too well. He'd felt like that as a juve about to settle into one place with his family. It was nice, he remembered. "I'm sure it will be," he said with a little smile. The cheetah slowly got up, suddenly getting the itch to move around again. That usually happened when someone started talking about a permanent home. "Anyway," he said with a little sigh. "I think I'm gonna go. Y'know, before I'm tempted to stick around and see this beautiful home you're talking about."

Jo gave a chuckle and dipped his head slightly. "Thanks for the company, Kona. Who knows, maybe we'll see each other again." With that, the male started off once again. The itch to move was already going away.

Kona nodded there wasn't much to say to him, "I understand" she said simply. Getting up at about the same time he did. She got the drink of water that she ahd come for in hte first place. She was pleased that she had met the cheetah... he had been very kind. Feeling warm inside, and refreshed from the water Kona turned and headed towards her home and her babes.
