Alright, I see a lot of fail moments and stuff. But never any to make your selves as hunters proud of. Or where you just got s**t balls lucky and something out of no where saved you, and you got the hunt good.
So here's a thread dedicated to your epic moments in the Freedom series of Monster Hunter.

I'll start off.
I was playing this morning before school. (As some of you know, data corruption, so new game) I'm doing the guild hall 3 star HR1 Congala quest. I'm doing pretty well the whole time. I die twice. And I'm pretty much like, "Thats it, all the stops." So I go into this last life like I'm goin' crazy. he barely touches me(tanks to Ioprey and the like, I got smacked a few times.) But it goes on. Than it comes down to area seven. (The cave and healing place for him) For some reason, he hops out to 8 and back into 7. I guess to throw me off and heal. SO I run around looking for the b*****d. Get back to 7 wake him up, and I get the warning for 5 minutes left. I get a spirit combo hit him a few times, and make him mad. Than break his crown, so shortly after his rage was gone. About 4 minutes now. And it goes on. I wait for his slash combo and fall to attack again, but when I do, I'm in the middle of a combo when he gets up, and I'm stupid enough to continue on the attack. So The Congala decides to breath that sleep spray bull. I'm just like "********! Noo!!!"And don't even look at the screen. But then I look back down... And I had some how dodge rolled under his armpit! I'm like at a point of just going insane right then. So I use the last of my spirit gauge to wipe him out. And as I type this.I'm still shaking a bit. It was a complete epic moment. But damn, I hate that pink furry b*****d! hahaha.

I haven't played in a few weeks, and the thing that has me down is Heavenly Scales. So I hopped onto Gold 'n Silver, G-rank. With 17 flashbombs on my person (5 made, 10 materials, 2 supply) and go to work with my Super Nova. I can't seem to manage a good, synched flash to save my life so I start tossing them out carelessly and missing a couple flashes. By time I use my last one (and knock Mr. Rathalos out twice), I know I'm in deep trouble because they're both well-enough alive. So then my hunter instincts kick in and I start letting them damage themselves while looking for solid opening. Die once. Come back after an ancient potion to dodging and near-misses like the best of them. Rathalos is dead, Rathian's left. She combos me in a corner and kills me. I got 25 minutes on the clock and 2 deaths and a cat that DOES NOT WANNA HELP. So I go for the safest measures possible: Only attack when she's not angry, and look out for backflips. Let me just say getting back into the swing of things, solo, was rewarding and yet unrewarding. For all my hard work and lucky escapes, I got 2 rubies. = NO HEAVENLYS, NO PLATES. TWO RATHIAN RUBIES.
But boy, did that hunt feel amazing. sweatdrop

the first time i started playing i was fighting a tigerex in moutains. after a few minutes of pounding on his hed an cutting off his tail he went beserk and killed me once. i go to area 1 and sea that he was headed for area 3 i decided to get some meat took get some steak until i see him heading to area 1 for no resaon(yes i tagged him with paint) lol i put down the portalble shock trap and climb up to the ledge and wait. as soon as he landed he was caught. lol i placed a bunceh of bombs near him including large barrel bomb +, large barrel bomb, small barrel bomb+ and small barrel bomb(lol had to move quick with small barrel bomb) after everything set off he went crazy again and tried attacking me on ledge. i dont know if there was some glich but when i attacked from the ledge instead of falling off that second i landed a quick fully charged blow to the head then fell. lol and thats the end of tigerex sweatdrop

epic ******** time ago I was hunting with my most trusted partner, y bro GS wielder... ok here it goes
Our first high rank Los, he was pretty much done he had limps from time to time. Neither of us ( my and my bro ) had died in fact we hd all of our HI- pots. the thing is that i needed some + rathalos hide and the carving pluss the rewards would give me the necessary to get the piece of armor sooo.... I needed to heal, bro went upper slash in his face, he staggered, the attack reached me, I flyed over him, landed like a pancake, he runned, i died... (Mumo is done for...) (reward decreased in 5000z) next thing i see in my screen is (Objective completed) (returning home in 1 min.) .... fck "run mumo run as fast as u can!!" i got there carved him and fcking vespoid stings me i fall paralised ¬¬ i stand up killed the friggin vespoid carved got rathalos scale+ time is up, i cry, rewards only gave me one hide, and got to re-do the hole quest crying
Never ever ever ever!! trust a GS to watch ur back while u heal!

lol this is one of my favorite MH stories to tell anyone that I play with:
So I was doing the Dual Tigrex quest for my next HR level and was using my trusty Siegmund and Azure Rath Soul set. I had finished off one after about 30 minutes of running around and trying to avoid the other Tigrex and had sadly died once in the process. The last Tigrex was ragin across my screen and making it difficult to deal with. Inevitably, seeing how it was my first attempt at taking on High Rank Tiggy and first attempt at taking on two at once, I died a second time and ended up rolling back to camp. Anyway I got all the way back to where he was (I gemmed up for auto-tracker so I could track both of the buggers at once) and started wailing on him when the chance opened up. I got him down to limping and then chased him into the next zone where I started to continue beating his skull in. After a while he zoned out to area 7 I think... where ever he goes to sleep. So he gets there and I follow him in and wait for him to fall asleep. I run up to him and pop him with a GS hit on the head and he gets up ragin. I have about 10 minutes left and really want to finish this quest up so that I can get into the new set of monsters so I started rushing everything and taking hits when I shouldn't have. Anyway he does a tail spin and I run up and start charging my GS, but he does a back hop and I'm like "Oh s**t..." he charges me, but my GS finishes charging and drops on his head.

[Returning to Village in 1 Minute]

Truly my most epic moment in Monster Hunter History.
Playing Tri I am hunting my first solo Rathian (I've fought plenty in online and am just trying to be plate and wyvern claws I believe to finish set.) So I'm stabbing away with my lance and whatnot. I die once no big deal. Broke it's face, tailed it, delivered tears whatever. If I had to I was going to end via subquest. Now if you know me you know that I hate capturing and believe in going for the kill. So Chacha and I weaken it and it goes to area 8 (D. Island by the way) to rest. I fight it for a while in 8 and my lance dulls. I have speed sharpening so sharpening mid-battle is no problem for me. I put my weapon away and run to the far side of the area to sharpen. Finish sharpening. I run up to the Rathian and draw my weapon. As my lance is being drawn the tip of it hits the Rathian in the face once and then wouldn't you know it "Main Quest Complete." I was like "OMG. I just killed a Rathian by DRAWING MY WEAPON!" I was shocked as well in a way of "seriously it took ONE more hit? ONE!?" Either way it was pretty damn epic.

[Quest Complete] [Returning to Village in 1 Minute] Satisfying I think psycho vision is kind of a waste of slots. For twin quest I think a better strategy would be to use the psychoserum to find them, and paintball the one you're attacking. Granted each one will start out in the same spot each time, so you can save your psychoserums for the second monster. And paintball it after you've killed the first one. Don't you think thats a little better then jeweling armor and taking up those slots? And that way you can track the one you were damaging, and not switching over thinking its the first one, while the first one heals.

This happened only recently.
I was rippin' into a Teostra in the desert right, and as you do, you totally kick it's arse. This was the second time i was versin' this fella, (i had the unfortunate chance of makin him run away) and couldn't wait ot finish him off. Anyway, we were in area 5, and he decided to fly off to Area 2. So i follow and notice that i have a few Poison Thrwng knives left, so i thought, "Hey. why not?" and threw 'em at him long distance, I threw A knife, and whadya know? He dies. From a teeny TINY knife. I was like, 'WOW'.
Yeah, good fun mrgreen

El Loco Rinoceronte This happened only recently. I was rippin' into a Teostra in the desert right, and as you do, you totally kick it's arse. This was the second time i was versin' this fella, (i had the unfortunate chance of makin him run away) and couldn't wait ot finish him off. Hi there...
Just now, playing United on the PSP I was hunting the Red Kazu, in the swamps. Just finished Grinding the Grugia thing for the Raven Tensei (fan blades) and was approaching the end of the hunt, hadn't fallen once, been hit by a couple of BS ElectroSkin attacks that he does and then I notice him Hobbling, So I watch as he charges up another Skin attack, step back a little and drop the static Trap. Drawing my Blades I sweep at his leg, tripping him right onto the Trap. Couple of Trank bombs and he is asleep...
Then falls on top of me and nearly KO's me...
Oh well, least I found a fun weapon to use...

Well first epic moment was on freedom unite. Me and a friend were fighting a plesioth in the desert. When It jumped out of the water we both placed shock traps next to each other because we didn't say that we were, but it happened. So Plesioth began running towards tehm and hit the first one. We bombarded him with all the bounce bombs we had, then he hit the second trap right away and we bombed him again with bounce bomb+, needless to say, he died.
And I was hunting a giginox the other day. I placed a small barrel bomb next to him. He swung his neck around and I jumped out of the way. While in mid-air, the bomb exploded and killed him when I hit the ground. smile

my friends and I were hunting the lao shan and it was down to the last fminute and I was was likt gotta get this last demon dance in and when I did the screen went victory and me and my friend were like we repeled it but then my friend looked at the screeen and we saw him fall down and we were like holy s**t we killed it.
then we did it again but only with 3:58 left.
outr armor and stuff were this

my friend alfreado who hasnt reached hunter rank two.
he had blango armor with gunhammer
and my friend chris who had kirin armor and fire dragon sword.
(chris's gaia is nomad cero and we were both hunter rank 3)

I was fighting a Barioth the other day with a couple friends and we had him cornered in area six on top of the plateau. I was wailing on with Djinn and he swings his tail at me and I try and stop my self from rolling like a ragdoll and I do the slide animation, only I'm sliding for the edge I fall off, but my chracter does this little epic ledge grab, and the Barioth swings his tail right over me just making the whole scene look cinematic. Then I climbed back atop and we killed him and I got like 4 Amber Tusks.

Ok, well here i go
Mission=Rusted Kushala Daora attacking the town
Hunters=Me(sns) My bro(LS)
My Equipment=Full monoblos S with the Queen Rapier
Bros Equipment=Full death stench S with Death Scythe( i think thats the name.....)
Ok, well it started like anyother fight....me and my bro grabed bombs and the such and started wailing on him, and for 35 minutes we were just healing,attacking, and bombing. so near the end of the fight, the kushala decides he is gunna jump up and attack the town wall were the dragonator is. both me and my brother decide to expend all of our large+ and supply large bombs underneath his shadow. So as he is landing, I jump slice the bombs killing the kushala with the MASSIVE explosion. And in the kill picture, my brother(who was wearing Death Stench armor) was blown back, with his arms spread wide, and it looked like he unleashed the flames of hell...(while i had my head in the ground XD)
And now, for my biggest fail....
Me and my bro(same equip) were killing the high rank red khezu in the swamp, my bro had drained two of our lives so we had to play careful.....so we get the kez to his heal area, and we attack him waking him up....he does his tri-blast attack and nails me with all three taking my life down to near 0. So i ran, i ran to the safest spot i could, and tried to heal.but before i could, the kez turned around and did his tri-blast at me AGAIN. i was thinking to myself(Oh H**L NO!, i am not getting hit by that again.) so i attempted to dodge the lightning balls, they were long range so i shouldent of had a problem......Then a freakin kelbi pushes me into it....and we fail the mission
