Yup. Pretty sure everyone knew that one was coming. Even people who didn't care.

Project Needlemouse was revealed tonight (it's 2am here when it was revealed) as Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1. Only downloadable on XBox Live, PSN, and WiiWare. There's also a hidden console/system on the website. Once again, everyone and their mom are sure it's PC.

The game, as seen from the video on GameSpot*, is a classic 2D Sonic game, only with 3D models and new features mixed in with the old ones. Like the Spin Dash**.

The only thing that bothers me, is the fact that it comes in Episodes. I don't know why, it just bugs me. I mean, they could just made it into one game, I'm sure the story isn't that big.
Oh and Sonic's slow.

*GameSpot Launch Trailer video and Interview with Ken Balough

**The Spin Dash is featured in the game, as it was mentioned in the interview with Ken Balough.

One last thing.
I feel sorry for those folks who don't have the current gen consoles or Wi-Fi/XBox Live/PSN account.

So, I wanna know what you guys think about this whole thing. Disappointed? Excited? Neutral and just waiting 'til more information comes your way?

Well the trailer link you have posted doesn't work but based on what you said I have to say I'm pretty pissed. I have both a Wii and PS3 but don't have available internet to download things. It comes as no suprise that they would make a game similar to the old ones. Since Capcom made Megaman 9 and are now in the makes of a number 10 Sega is doing what it can to keep up. The three dimensional models are not that new since they had them in the Sonic Rush games, plus Nintendos plumber has now made a habit of it. The episode thing reminds me of the sonic RPG for the DS. It's possible that because of the 3d models the story won't fit because it takes up to much space. That being said, even if I do get available internet, I think I'd rather get some of the older classics than a cheap remake.

I was a little upset when I found out that it was only downloadable. Oh well, I've been planning to get a PS3 and a Wii anyways (if I can get the money somehow).

I´ll download it for sure, a spanish Nintendo Magazine said, that Sonic 4 will have up to 5 Episodes...so i wont miss one of them, and i think, even if everyone has doubts about this game, that this Game will be awesome =3
