In the end, he'd stayed behind the hunt. Mistweavers, according to everything he'd learned here...were not meant to be creatures of rage, and it was rage that had been flickering in his chest like a wild fire every time he thought of Nyekundu, the mad cub that threatened them all. The hunt was still on, they could not leave something so dangerous at such an age to grow to an adult, but if he'd gone along....
His claws sink into the rich, but dryer than normal earth of the Mistweaver lands at the thought, and his great, though not quite full mane bristles. He's a lion at the brink of adulthood, and his power is almost at it's fullest. Had he his chance...he wouldn't have questioned the creature as Maji intened to, he would have simply ripped him apart.
He shakes it off again with a frown, taking a deep breath of mist filled air to cool the fire inside. Laana is still healing, and Ithi is still confined to Mistweaver territory, to test her patience, and her loyalty to the tribe she intends to join. His responsibility to watch over, like Laana.
She's the one that both soothes and stirs that tumultuous fire he can't seem to escape, and the one he seeks out, padding through the undergrowth toward the cave where she is recovering from her injuries, two large fish clamped between his teeth. He would prefer to bring her red meat, but is leery of doing it in Maji's absense...the strange Mistweaver king has a few too many herbivorous freinds...and leaving the Mistweaver lands to find prey that Maji ISN'T on speaking terms with would leave Ithi, Laana and the rest exposed.
Mouth too full to talk, he steps purposefuly on a few twigs to anounce his aproach, peering into the mouth of the cave cautiously to see how he'll be received.

"M-mning..." He mumbles around the fish, then looks sheepish, the inside of his ears turning faintly pink, moving forward to drop the fish at her feet gently. "Sorry...I mean...Good Morning. Did you sleep alright?" He inquires, licking his chops to clear them of fish. "I brought some breakfast...I'll show Ithi how to catch a few for herself if she hasn't already found something to eat...but I figured I should check on you first..." He notes, still blushing slightly. She's such a striking lioness, her colors very similar to his own, with that stunning mark on her hips, and her red eyes much like his own. He'd been so startled to see her when they'd first met my chance, with he and Maji out on the plane, scanning to see if they saw any trace of his mother. They'd never found her, but they had found Laana, who was, even then noble and fierce. A survivor...

A deep throaty purr rises in his throat at her touch, as startling as electricity across his skin. It makes him wonder if this is how Enki feels about Kinyamkela, his pretty grey lady...though she doesn't make his pulse race the way Laana does, or tie up his tounge. Enki always seems to know -exactly- what to say and how to say it, but he lacks that gift of eloquent speech. At least to his own ears it always comes out as stumbling and strange as his mothers words. Still...sometimes one has to try.
"I'm um...really glad you're here. I mean...er...alright that makes it sound like I'm glad you're hurt but thats not it....I mean..." At least if he's angry he can string two words together correctly, but this affection thing just screws everything up. "I mean...I'm really glad that you're around. It...means a lot to me..."

"No...you're beautiful...this is...just a place." He notes, then looks embarassed again. He doesn't know how she'll react to such advances, not after being attacked the way she was. "I mean...I...." he clears his throat, unable to tear himself away from her incredible gaze. "This place wouldn't be anything without a pride here...it would just be trees and green things. It makes it a home because there's lions here....like you...I...I'd like it if you stayed with us...if you considered us your pride. If you'd stay...with me...or if you'd at least consider it..."

He purrs throatily, thrilled and enchanted. "Would you really?" He says, as though afraid she'll take it back. "Because that would be wonderful..."He leans closer to lick her muzzle and cheek. "I was hoping to ask you...and I was really hoping you would but I was afraid to ask...after..." He trails off, not wanting to mention -his- name, to break the mood and the moment.

Maji had been in a mood after his talk with Ithil, there was no way around her constant self-pity and excuses for her behavior and Maji could find no respect for a lion that could not see past their own self-loathing to see things for how they truely stood. He had retired into the herb room to prepare a few back-up bowls of herbs to treat Laana in case he wasn't around to mix the ingrediants. It typically calmed him quite a bit to do so, singing quietly to himself in the Mistweaver language, many songs that he knew but never remembered from where. He had been in and out of the cave, taking the back ways so he wasn't distracted, to gather what as needed.

He sat hunched over the third bowl, this one he'd take directally to her. Fresh vines had been gathered to replace the ones he'd have to cut free to get to the wound on her leg and he had taken time to gather and soak some thin bark to cover the herbs and allow them to do their work longer into the night and provide as much comfort as possible.

Just one more should do it., Maji took another of the thick green leaves from the stock of them and added it to the bowl, crushing it with the longer stone-stir until it was as gel-like as the rest. Smiling at his work, the lion assembled the herbs, vines, and bark into a basket and took them into his mouth.

He walked slower so he didn't disturb the bowl rocking around in the basket, walking as smoothely as he could manage. From outside of Laana's room he could hear her and Ramses speaking and thought it best to sit himself outside the room until it was a better time to disturb them. He lowered the basket as quietly as managable and laid himself down.

The lioness listened softly, only to smile more so, she was in an awfully smiley mood nowadays, especially around him.
She then gently licked his maw once again before looking back into his blood red eye's.
"Too true Ramses...too true..."
She then took in the first comment under consideration and gently nuzzled deeply into his ever growing, white mane.
"And yes...we can go forward together...."
