A large open field beyond the area of the academy that held five trees, each tree were located strangely in the formation of a large X. The time of the area is afternoon as the light will shine upon the world to create a happy tone that seeks to make those in the area fight become happy.

Hinata stepped lightly into the field, pausing to survey her surroundings. She was to fight Kasen Tusin, a seated officer of the 10th Division in this field- it seemed ironically calm and pleasant. Seeing that her opponent had not yet arrived, she sat at the base of a large tree in the middle, stretching out to enjoy the nice weather.
"Stop being happy." Her zanpaktou, Harikaze's voice rudely burst her happy bubble. Hinata sighed irritatedly.
"What is it now?"
"You're not supposed to be happy while waiting to rip someone to pieces, idiot," Harikaze continued in a monotone, just to wind the shingami up. Hinata decided it would be stupid to sit around shouting at her zanpaktou, so she began meditating, drawing herself into Harikaze's world to continue the argument. Her reiatsu flared alarmingly, and a distinctly angry look appeared on her face as she sat- the only indications of the battle that was raging around in her head.

Kasen was walking towards the area as he noticed something was rising. "It seems something dark comes our way, Sasori." A girl dressed in a red kimono, invisible to all but Kasen, appeared behind him and simply said in a stinging tone ,"That's your opponent..." Kasen sighed as he grinned a small smile while looking up at the sky.
Moments later Kasen had shunpo past Hinata as he was now above her upon a large branch as he jumped off and made a slightly loud thump as he looked Hinata and stared at the angry face and said ,"Why so serious?" He asked with a small grin still on his face.

Still annoyed at her zanpaktou, Hinata's eyes snapped open as she registered a reiatsu on the edge of her consciousness. Without thinking, she leapt up and shouted:
"Why are you disturbing me, IDIOT?"
A split second later, she became aware of her own threatening pose, and that the person facing her was clearly not an enemy. Judging by the fact that he had addressed her in the first place, she guessed that this must be her opponent for the spar.
"Ah! You must be Kasen-san! Uh-" She bowed, resurfacing bright red. "Sorry about that." Harikaze's rudeness must really be rubbing off on me... she thought exasperatedly. "I was a little preoccupied with shouting at my zanpaktou, so don't take anything personally." Grinning, she continued: "I should introduce myself properly. Kazuki Hinata, Vice-Captain of the 13th."

Kasen simply smiled as he took all kinds of emotions from many people and simply smiled at them. "No harm done. I am Kasen Tsuin, 3rd Seat of Squad 10, and apparently the second person to wield the title 'Black Flame Werewolf'." Kasen said with a small bow as he introduced himself. Everyone in his own squad knew very well what he was capable of, even smiling at death. "So, if you are done yelling, shall we begin this game of ours?" Kasen said as he jumped back and shifted the cloak he was wearing to reveal his uniform, his zanpakuto on his waist, and a normal katana created for him.
"Shall we begin with a game of tag?" Kasen said as he was talking as if he was trying to play a game with a child, as if he was himself a child. "Ladies first, and let this be a fun time all shall remember." Kasen said as he smiled at her and simply waited without bothering a movement towards his weapons.

"Werewolf?" Hinata said in surprise. "Hmm. This will be interesting." As Kasen shifted into a natural stance in preparation for their battle, her eye twitched incredulously as she heard something about 'Tag'. Immediately, she was reminded of her sensei's unorthodox teaching methods, which often required her to play 'Tag' against an arrancar or two. A very, very annoyed arrancar or two.
"Well. What's the point in battling without some fun, eh?" the Vice-Captain said with a resigned smile. Her adversary looked as if he was open, but she did not allow his indifferent façade to fool her. Deciding to play along, she did not draw her weapon, instead flash-stepping behind Kasen and aiming a sharp jab at the base of his skull with two fingers. If successful, this move would at least cause minor concussion, though her sensei had managed to knock her out several times.
As soon as she thought this, Harikaze began some evil war-chant at the back of Hinata's mind.
"Knock him out, knock him out, knock him out..."

Kasen bent forward as he noticed Hinata's movement with a shadow moving behind him. Her hand swished through his hair as he barely dodged the jab as he didn't know what she was doing. Kasen smirked as he pushed all his upper body weight forward as he flipped downward while his feet were brought upward creating a forward flip. The heels of his feet were brought back a bit to slice upward at the chin of Hinata as Kasen flipped.
"The game of tag is simple, touch your opponent they become it, and it seems you're it." Kasen said as his body continued moving forward while his lower body moved upward.

Hinata jerked her head to the side to dodge Kasen's kicks. His heels barely brushed her hair, as she flash-stepped before his flip had landed. Retaliating with a sweeping kick at her opponent's left side as he was standing, she followed through with a second kick at his neckline.
"I'm assuming you can tag people like this, hmm?" Ducking quickly, she retrieved the two miniature throwing knives that acted as her hairpins, spinning to Kasen's right and flicking her wrist in order to cut his face.

Kasen landed and felt a kick to his side with a slight thud as he grunted and brought his upper body back a little to dodge the kick at his neck before he noticed her hair was let loose and a weapon was in her hands. "Four of spades, five of club!" Kasen shouted as a pair of cards in his cloak activated and released a burst of darkness that created a fog that hid Kasen as he shunpo away from the slicing strike.
"Guess I'm it then..." Kasen said as he reached into his cloak and pulled out two more cards which he read aloud the card's suit and number. "3 of Diamonds and 4 of Hearts." Kasen threw the card at Hinata as they glowed and suddenly released a burst of flames as they exploded.

"Exploding playing cards? It'll be Mahjong next..." Hinata mumbled as a cloud of darkness surrounded her. Instinctively, she flash-stepped upwards, shooting from the screen of fog to land in mid-air. "Whoa!" No sooner had she regained her balance, a pair of cards shot towards her menacingly, then combusted. It was now two ridiculously huge balls of fire that were advancing on her, so she had no choice but to dodge. Not that she had been planning to deflect them, as that would have served as a hit.
Being in mid-air, it was not difficult. All the shinigami needed was to let go of the solidified reishi under her feet, and allow gravity to do the rest. She hurtled down towards the ground, breaking the fall with a one-handed flip- the cards soared over her head, barely singing the tip of her hair.
Upon alighting, Hinata pinned her hair back again, before facing Kasen with a smile.
"Next?"

Kasen smirked as he placed the deck back into his cloak, for wasting all of them would force another trip to the Real World for a pack of cards again. "Well, since our game is up, the choice is yours." Kasen said as he shifted his cloak upwards and removed it from his body revealing his uniformed body. His zanpakuto and second blade glimmered in the dim light as he didn't move from his spot while looking at Hinata.
A voice popped into Kasen's head and began speaking to him. "Playing with your latest opponent as usual? You should really stop that..." Kasen made an imaginary brush-off and replied as he thought. "Battles without fun are simply boring and those who fight to kill are cold in their hearts.." Kasen thought as another voice popped into his head. "True, but let us wait the battle out and let the poison settle, we can't be too hasty and finish this quickly..." Once again Kasen shrugged off his comment, but had nothing to say against Sasori.

Grinning, Hinata considered her options. The battle was imminent- it would be unrealistic to put it off any longer, and she was keen to find out how her opponent fought. With her analytical mind, observing others’ battle styles was interesting enough to draw her into spars, despite her regal upbringing. Clearly, indulging in these brawls every day wasn’t the noblest of activities.
”Never mind being noble or not, get on with it, idiot!” Though not normally convinced by her zanpaktou, the female shinigami decided to oblige for once.
“Let me see…” She pretended exaggeratedly to ponder the subject, then shunpo-ed in front of Kasen. “You’re open.” In a flash, she drew her blade, aiming to slash his torso diagonally from waist to shoulder. Using the momentum, she delivered a kick to his stomach, then stepped to her right to jab at her opponent’s left waist.

Kasen eyes glowed with a dark ring of purple as he brought out his zanpakuto upward from the sheath which clashed immediately with Hinata, however she wasn't done with him. As the leg of hers rose to kick him, he used her body against her as he jumped upwards to let his right leg be instead kicked and used his left leg to jump from Hinata's leg as he rose upwards to dodge the jab.
Kasen not trying to risk his newly injured leg, he flipped forward as he began his descent and slashed downwards while falling as if he was doing a slicing somersault against her. However his left foot stayed outwards as he was trying to cut and strike with his leg as well.

Hinata smirked as her foot caught Kasen on the leg, though her victory was short-lived, as seconds later, he retaliated by kicking off her own. As her opponent flipped through the air, she brought her zanpaktou swishing up to meet his. The metallic sound of blade on blade screeched through the peaceful air, as Kasen, with the weight of gravity on his side, bore down on her sword.
Catching sight of a movement out of the corner of her eye, Hinata raised her free hand to block her adversary's kick just in time. Bad idea- already having weak elbows, she felt her joint creak, the bandages she had tightened around them prior to the battle just managing to hold it together. She gritted her teeth in annoyance, before spinning from under Kasen's zanpaktou to free herself. From there, she whipped her hair pins back out again and launched them like projectiles in one fluid movement. While they aimed for Kasen's head, she leapt over him, before kicking off the air and shooting back down with alarming speed. She swept her zanpaktou in a long arc at her opposition's head.

Kasen grinded his teeth in annoyance as he felt the blade meet another, however the blade disappeared below as he turned slightly to meet hairpins which were coming for his head. Kasen slipped out a six of spades card which caught the hairpins and pierced it as it was coming for him still, however the card exploded with its explosive effect nullified and simply created a burst of black fog as the hairpins flew away. Kasen turned toward Hinata as light disappeared and her blade was coming for him. Kasen had let go of the reiatsu which was halting his descent and he fell as Hinata fell as well towards him.
Taking his sheath and zanpakuto blade, he moved back a bit as the ground was coming closer and he didn't want to become a mess upon the ground. Taking the two weapons, Kasen stabbed the ground as he held himself up with a kick upwards to strike the blade which would cut into his feet instead. "You just don't like my feet, do you?"
