As the sun dips down toward the horizon, Savith lifted up from the sandy beaches below, with a formless thought, left open to the various members of the motley tribe nearby: Foraging for foodstuffs, not going far.
He gets to the cliff-edge, feet alighting lightly upon an exposed root. His right hand rested against the trunk - skin feeling the rough scraping of the bark - while he drifted, an errant breeze, around the tree and into the forest's shadow, feet lifting from the roots again. Here he paused, waiting for eyes to adjust to the falling light.

Two cubs moved swiftly through the trees, their feet barely touching the bark of a branch before they were pushing off and reaching for the next. One cub led, and the second followed. They both had the same hair, cut near their ears, the color of autumn leaves. The leader was taller, but not by much, but the smaller moved easier, able to fit between branches the taller one couldn't. The leader would make jumps the shorter couldn't manage, but the shorter simply picked a different path and a series of smaller leaps. There was only their laughter and the sounds of the forest.
Dew felt a mind brush her with a faint sense of a message. She blinked, they weren't foraging. They were playing and they always went as far as they wanted. She blinked again, but she was not running through the trees. Instead, she was laying in the crook of two large branches, staring up at the canopy above her and feeling the breeze that came from beyond the cliffs edge. She sat up, shifting to look around and opening her mind to see who it was that woke her. "It was a good dream," she said with a faint smile before catching the scent of Savith, just barely noticeable under the strong smell of salt.
*Where are we going?* she sent back to the Glider as she tried to find him. She could probably locate him easily enough through their sends, but she was determined to get her nose working past the salt that seemed to be everywhere she went. So, she smelled the air again and went out looking for the Glider, figuring he had to be close by.

Savith's lips curled into a half grin at the cub's reply, form already drifting just above the forest floor, eyes on the look out for rabbit. **Not far,** his mind replied, forces into mostly business - the warmth from his physical expression stripped from it. **Just out - about - in the woods,** he added, thoughts having a breath of pause; **Hunting.**

Dewpaw glanced around and sniffed the air again, annoyed as ever that her sense of smell was so ruined here. She couldn't figure how any of the animals in the area dealt with the constant stench. Picking up Savith's scent again, still only a faint smell under the salt, Dewpaw changed directions, grinning when she caught sight of the Glider between two branches. *Not one to just sit around, are you?* she sent as she came closer, uses the branches to travel in case Savith had spotted a ravvit. She had no intention of spooking his prey.

**One could says the same of you,** came his mental response - playfully chill - eyes still scanning about for small game.

*True* the cub replied, her send filled with the giggles she was trying not to make alloud. She moved closer until she was resting on the branch just above Savith, *But I think I sleep more than you*, she sent with all the seriousness she could muster through the giggles. While she was quiet, she had yet to join in on searching for any kind of game, but instead watched the elf below her.

**As well you should,** Savith's mind replied with complete parental seriousness. **You are yet still growing, cub, and need the rest far more than I,** wafted the thought from him, eyes on the ground while mind noted where Dewpaw seemed to be sending from. His form was tensed but relaxed, talonwhip out and ready, but resting deceptively limp in his throwing hand. And yet, even with the seriousness of mind and body, a faint twitch curled up one corner of his lips - a faint bit of amusement.

Dew swung her feet soundlessly from her position on the branch and sniffed the air. *True, but you're the chief. you need sleep to, Chief* she sent back, emphasizing the last word. With another sniff she sent again, *Ravvit smell to your right*. Her eyes drifted in the same direction trying to catch a glimpse of the animal she could smell beneath the smell of the salt. The ravvit had to be close, or else she would not have been able to smell it here, so close to the ocean.

Savith's face slid to the right at Dewpaw's instruction. He'd lived too long with wolfriders not to trust their sense of smell. He hovered in place, eyes scanning the foliage. Unable to spot the furred creature, he wraps a thread of magic about one of the branches beneath him. With a vigorous shake of his magic, Savith seeks to spook the ravvit from its hiding spot and out into the open. Is he ignoring Dewpaw's first remark? Quite possibly.

Dewpaw grinned with pride as a small gray ravvit darted out of the brush and across the narrow path. Her feet became still as she watched the ravvit leave the safety of its hiding place. At the same time, her hand drifted to one of the daggers she kept around her waist, but the dagger stayed sheathed. This was Savith's kill.

AH! Ther's the ravvit! No sooner does teh furry creature dart out of the bussh than Savith casts his talonwhip. Claws snap shut around the ravvit's body and he yanks it back up toward him. **Hungry,** his mind asks, filled with a sense of hunting joy.

Dewpaw giggled and sent to Savith, her send carrying her giggles with it, *No. I filled up on berries before my nap.* She sniffed the air before deciding that the ravvit didn't have a buddy with it before shifting to her feet and climbing to a branch more on Savith's level. *Its all yours, Chief*.

Savith nods, a light grin of successful hunt o his face. Floating to the branch, he settles down by Dewpaw, pulls his boot knife, and begins to cut into the still hot flesh for a fresh meal.

Dew scooted over a little to give Savith more room on the thicker part of the branch. *You spend a lot of time foraging and hunting. Why not hang out on the beach?* Dew sent, her curiosity plainly obvious. The others seemed to enjoy the beach and the pool quite a bit, but she always saw Savith out in the woods. It confused her, because the trees seemed to make flying more difficult for him.

Savith neatly cuts into the red bloody flesh, eating eaily enough as his mind replies. **I don't much like sand.**
