Black hooves squished in the mud as a black mare walked along side of the river. Imbrium had avoided this place for far too long and had decided it was time to face the truth. The feelings that she had felt for the odd stallion, Thanos, had been real. As much as Imbri had tried to deny it, she couldn't any longer. Ever since that day she had met him months ago, she had thought about him and how he had made her feel. Sure she had met other stallions but she never really cared for any of them up until she met Thanos. Imbri had also wondered if there was something wrong with her, out of all of the stallions she could fall for, she chose the decomposed dead one? Well wasn't that a lovely thought. Carefully the mare crossed the river, reaching the spot where they had last met. What if his herd had moved on by now? Well, then she supposed she would just have to keep looking, to keep trying to find him. What if she wouldn't be allowed into the herd? If he rejected her? Imbri quickly pushed the thoughts out of her mind. Perhaps he wouldn't care for her. So be it. As long as she had at least tried she would content. The black mare just hoped that he was still in the area.

Today was the day. Thanos had put up with the abomination long enough. He had agreed with Regret to let the colt stay until he was older. Well he was older now, right? Regret never said how much older the colt had to be, so he decided today was as good of a day as any to solve this problem. He had gotten Rowan involved as well to make sure that Regret did not stop him this time. He would succeed even if it meant killing the colt. He would have killed him, but he knew that would only drive Regret away, and he did not want that to happen. Now to find that colt. It seemed that the nameless colt had taken to living at the edge of the herds territory much like his mother had. Snorting Thanos trotted along looking for any sign of the small black colt."Are you going to deal with the problem today?" "I keep telling you both that he is not a problem, he should be allowed to stay.""He is a problem!" Thanos snapped at Peace. "And I will deal with him as I see fit." Eyes narrowed as he caught sight of a bit of black off in the distance within the trees. Well that had to be him, slinking about like a freak. He picked up the pace, closing the distance between him and his son.

Nameless was always fearful of the herd he was born into. But no one more so than his father. The stallion seemed to have it out for the normal foal. Thankfully his mother have saved him from being driven away a short time ago, but every day he worried. Would today be the day that scary stallion came for him? It certainly didn't help that no one in the herd, save for his mother and perhaps Agony, cared for him. Staying close to the herd was scary, but so was living on the edge of that world. There were dangers no matter where he was.
Today he was worried more so than others. He was in his safe haven amongst the trees. But today the birds seemed to not want to stick around. That could mean only one thing. Father was coming for him. That had been the reason he choose to stay out here, the birds would always warn him if one of the herd members was coming his way. He hurried behind a large tree hoping above all hopes that Thanos would not find him.

Thanos knew he had seen the colt duck behind the tree. He let out an anger snort as he reached the bank of trees. If the colt thought he could lose the larger horse in the trees than he was highly mistaken. Red eyes scanned the trees for any subtle movement. Ah yes there he was. Slowing to a walk Thanos rounded the tree that the nameless colt hid behind. "Move!" He snapped at the colt, teeth bared.
"Kill him!" "No, let him live."
"He will live. Not within my lands." He told the rats. However if the colt fought him too much he would just kill the b*****d and get it over with. "I promised Regret to not hurt him."

"P-please father. I wish to stay. I won't cause any trouble." Nameless pleaded. He would have begged more but Thanos' teeth came at him and with a frightened whinny the colt bolted out of the trees. Thanos was much faster than he was and cut off his route towards his mother. He had no choice but to run away from the herd lands. His long legs carried him as fast as he could. The hot breath of his father was once again on his back. If he hesitated or tripped he knew Thanos would be sure he didn't get back up. His lungs screamed as he ran, trying to go faster but he was already going as fast as possible.

Well the colt certainly had gotten faster since the last time he tried to run him out. Good this would mean he would be out of the lands faster, then by the time Regret caught on the abomination would be long gone. "I told you before do not call me that!" His hooves kicked out at the colt as he ran ahead of him. He hoped that the colt would falter in some way to give him a reason to kill him. Thanos wanted so badly to just kill the nameless one, but he had promised Regret he wouldn't. He would keep his promise...for now.
"Get him! Come on trip him!" "Thanos I beg you please stop this. You're not thinking rationally."
"I am thinking rationally!" He yelled as he ran after the black colt. They were nearing the river that lay just outside of the herds border. Good, he had made it. There would be no turning back now. The colt was nearly out of the herds territory. His teeth snapped out at the colts back again, this was just more incentive for the colt to keep running.

Imbrium was so lost within her thoughts that she barely even heard the thundering hooves as they tore up the ground not too far from her. Well what on earth could that be? She thought. It sounded as if someone was racing or even chasing after something, then she heard the screams of what sounded like a foal. Was there someone in trouble? Quickly she picked up her pace to a lope and soon came within sight of what appeared to be a black horse chasing after a young colt. As she slowed to a steady trot she could more easily see that the stallion was Thanos. Well at least she had found him.
Was he driving this poor colt out? Imbri couldn't just stand by and allow him to frighten the little foal or hurt him, and he did look as if he wanted to hurt him. She had had a rough enough childhood and wasn't about to let it happen to this poor little fellow. "Stop it!" She screamed, and her eyes glowed even brighter. "What the Hell are you doing to him?" The black mare was furious. Nothing so young and fragile deserved such little respect. Once again the black mare started into a lope and quickly made her way over to Thanos.

Thanos had Nameless in a dead run and he knew it was only a matter of time before the colt tripped. Then he would pound that tiny body into the ground with his hooves. It was all going to plan. Then he heard the words 'Stop it' and instantly worried that Regret had somehow found them. But now that voice wasn't Regrets at all. Though it was familiar to him. His pace faltered and he slowed a bit to see just who was yelling at him. If it was one of his herd members well then he would teach them a very good lesson.
"She is interfering! Kill her!" War chirped madly at the approaching mare. "Is that not the one we ran into a while back. Imbri was her name."
Imbri, the name shook Thanos' mind. Somewhere in the jumbled mess of his memories he vaguely, very vaguely remembered that name. Though he couldn't really put anything else to it, just the name. Then his eyes fell upon the black mare, those glowing eyes. Oh now he remember...well more than he did a moment before. His pace slowed down again and only then did he realize that his prey was getting away. His eyes fell upon the retreating form of the colt. Anger flared, ears pinned against his skull. His head turned to face the mare, he now came to a stop. "What is wrong with you? He got away!" He snapped at her. Mares, they were always getting in his way.

Nameless was thankful for the mare interfering, though he was a bit scared that she may just be pretending to stop Thanos when in fact she was just joining in. But he no longer felt his fathers hot breath on his back and the pounding of the stallions hooves was much quieter now, as if he was slowing down. Don't look back, he told himself. If he did he would likely trip and then the stallion would certainly catch up. His lungs were screaming at him to stop but he refused to, he had to get away, even if it meant running further away from his home. He would not let Thanos, or that mare, catch him. So he continued on, not looking back or slowing down. He could do that later, once he felt he was safe.

Imbrium's temper flared as her eyes did. How DARE he!?! "Me?" She screamed back at him. "What's wrong with YOU!" The black mare was upset now. So he had really been chasing after the poor foal. She had hoped that he was perhaps just playing with him, but all along she had known the truth, and possibly even just saved the foal's life. "How dare you try and hurt a little foal like that!"
How could she have ever felt anything for him? He'd better have some good reason for this, at least, she hoped that he would. It had been months since she had seen the stallion and he didn't look any different, he was still just as decayed as he had been. Imbri's heart fell a little. She supposed that she had been hoping he had healed a little, that maybe he was only teasing her about the Hell story, but no. He was definitely dead, or should be at least.
The black mare cleared her head. Now was not the time to be thinking such thoughts. First she needed to find out what the hell he had been doing. "What the Hell did you think you were doing?" She asked him. Her voice was still very much upset but she wasn't completely screaming anymore.

Eyes turned a dark shade of red as he stared the mare down. Slow, very slowly he was beginning to remember things about her. They had met before, and he had...liked her? Was that right? How could he like a mare that was yelling at him for doing what he had been doing? "There is nothing wrong with me!" He snapped back. Stupid mare. If only she knew the truth, then she would clearly see that he had been doing a good thing chasing after the nameless colt. "I was not hurting him!"
"Shut up you stupid mare." War yelled as she ran to the top of Thanos' head, chirping madly at the black mare. "Oh dear, this is not going to turn out well." Peace mumbled and decided to just hide in Thanos' mane until it was all over with.
Well at least War was on his side with this. Not that he had expected Peace to agree when it came to arguing over his actions. He gave his head a shake trying to put together all his thoughts before answering the mares other question. "I was ridding the herd of an abomination." He could have just told her exactly who that abomination was, but she hadn't asked so he didn't feel the need to tell her.

Imbri snorted at Thanos' reply. "Abomination?" She said sarcastically. "He's just a little foal. There was nothing wrong with him!." Well, she hadn't gotten the best look at him but he had looked just fine to her, other then the fact that he had been being chased by this stallion. "What about his mother?" She demanded. "What's he going to do without his mother and his father? You'd think a real father would have stood up for him to. Where are they at?" Imbri couldn't believe that some parents would actually allow this stallion to drive out their own foals, but then again it wasn't as if her own mother had done anything for her.
The feelings that she had felt for the stallion were still there, and right now she hated that. She completely detested the idea that she actually still liked him. But there really wasn't any denying it to herself. She just hoped for her own sake that perhaps they would go away. The last thing she needed was a stallion who thought he was so high and mighty because he kicked out a helpless foal.

Thanos could feel his anger rising at every word the mare said. Especially the comment about how a real father would stand up for him. Oh if only she knew the truth. That made him think. Why was he holding the truth back? Sure he had once had some feelings for this mare, but that was before Regret. Regret was his on true love and any feeling he had had for Imbri were long gone. "He was normal! He does not belong in my herd." He snorted.
War stared at the mare. "That's right! He doesn't belong in the herd!"
"As for his parents. His mother will forgive me for my actions. Regret is well aware of what I was doing." Well that was at least partially true. He had told Regret that he would allow the colt to stay a little while longer since his last attempt to run him out. And he had held up that end of the bargain. "And as his father..." He spit out the words. "I have every right to do what I wish with him." Thanos hated to admit that the colt was his. And if he could have he would have outright denied it. But if he didn't tell her this she would keep going on about it and Thanos was just about done with this conversation as is.

As Imbri listened to Thanos' words a shocked expression passed over her face. So he was the foals father? Unacceptable. "I see." She said coldly. "So just because you're his father gives you the right to kick him out for looking normal? I suppose that's why you never took me back to your herd. I was too normal for you too wasn't I? What about your mate? You never mentioned her before. She missing half her skin too or something?" Imbri was hurt. He could have said he had a mate. What was wrong with her? A few minutes before she felt like she absolutely hated him and now she was just about blubbering like a baby.
Imbri continued on, all thoughts of the foal just about out of her mind. "Guess I am really a freak." She spoke quietly and coldly. "Can't fit in with the 'normal' horses and I can't even get in with the undead ones." The mare stopped for a few moments trying to catch her breath. What the hell was wrong with her? She didn't usually act like this, especially not over some stupid stallion.

"You're damn right it gives me the right to kick him out for that." He agreed with her. Not that he wanted to agree with her right now, but it was the truth. He had given the foal a chance, and his chance was up. His eyes moved for a moment to where he had last seen the colt disappearing out of view. Well damn there was no way of catching up to him now. Oh well, he probably wouldn't survive long without Regret to care for him. Regret, that thought made him return his gaze to Imbri. "I had no mate when I first met you." He said in an angry tone. How dare she assume he was already mated before.
"He she is weak. Look at how her emotions are getting the best of her!" "Showing your emotions does not make you weak." Peace retorted from inside Thanos' mane.
"And for your information Regret is not decayed. She is....normal." He had to force out that last word. Another thing he didn't like to admit, that his mate was in fact as normal as that colt was. Well no that wasn't entirely true. Regret was not completely normal. But about as normal as it got for his herd. But he had overlooked that in her. As for the colt, well he wasn't willing to overlook his normalcy.
He chose not to make a comment on whether or not she was a freak. Did it really matter what his opinion of her was. At one time he would have offered her a place in his herd. She would have fit in there for the most part. But not now, not after stopping him in his plan to rid the herd of that abomination. Yes, the nameless colt was an abomination, no matter what Imbri said.
