▫ ▫ ▪ The Commandments ▪ ▫ ▫ ⇨Literacy Well, normally I'm not as tough on literacy as I'm going to be on this roleplay. However, I'm becoming fed up with no detail with which to base even a simple conversation on during an rp. SO, there is an absolute minimum of a single paragraph. Having said that, I expect at least 6 sentences a paragraph. This role-play is designed to be VERY open ended so, if you cannot come up with at least that amount of writing talent then please, do not apply to this role-play unless you are willing to improve a great deal in a short amount of time. Writers block is a common occurrence and understandable however... please avoid one-liners.
In addition, this is not necessary, but you will notice that most of us will hopefully utilize some form of posting style. A posting style is a method of dressing up you post so that it is aesthetically pleasing to read. I suggest you use one too. At the least, I don't want to see just simply black 12pt font as a post.
⇨God Moding Normally, I'd throw this in with the Literacy Rule however, I'm on a quest to raise awareness for the Legitimate God Moding Rule. Now, God Moding is definately a bad thing, but as we all know... Everything has an equal and opposite equivalence. For light we have dark, for space we have time and for God Moding we have the Legitimate God Moding. What is Legitimate God Moding though? Legitimate God Moding or LGM is an occurrence or agreement between two or more characters to allow a God Mode to happen whether it be for comedic purposes, advancing storyline, or for the betterment of either or all characters involved. Every character affected by a God Moding occurence however small or large the effect, negative or positive must approve of the God Mode to take place. Any God Moding otherwise is completely prohibited. I will not actively seek out God Moding, if no one reports it, I won't call anyone on it so don't be shy. If you feel you've been wronged, report it to me and I'll deal with it.
⇨Characters In this roleplay, I intend to have a vast majority of races to choose from. You can literally choose from any living organism to role-play as long as you do it correctly. Be a random fox for all I care so long as you stick to what a fox can do. That being said, I don't want humans running around lifting 5 ton bolders with there pinky-finger.
⇨Rated PG-16 This is a serious rp. Chances are there may be some slightly disturbing things, gore, traumatizing events, bad language(and humor alike). However, in this role play I prohibit the bare minimum. No graphic description of sexual activity between one or more characters, and no graphic detail of tearing your opponents limb from limb. (although in one rp, I used someones spinal cord as a whip to completely dismember their partner :'D) The latter is an unfortunate result of the TOS, the former is just odd and wouldn't be allowed even if it weren't in the TOS. Seriously, get a life.
⇨Respect Got to have it to be in the role-play. I'll immediately throw you out the door if I think your being too much of an a**. I don't like ignorant people at all. Too many times have I seen people hate in roleplays for absolutely no reason and you will respect me.
⇨Posting Posting is important. It will determine what magic and alchemy you can use among several other things in the world of White Canvas.
⇨Question Me You heard right! I tend to explain things a little ambiguously so that you don't have to read a s**t ton of things and sometimes I accidentally leave out important details that seem obvious to me but not to others. Please, for the good of this role-play. If you don't understand things, ask me.
⇨Advertising Belongs in your Signature Just as it says, if there is any advertising that is not approved or within your signature I will report you. It goes with out say that Spammers will also be reported.
⇨Submitting Your Profile After you have finished your profile you will PM it to me with the title "New Beginings" to ensure that you have read the rules.

(( W H I T E ☯ C A N V A S )) Tome of Knowledge
The Four Great Crafts
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx✖ ✖ ✖ In this world there are four pivotal practices that massively influence the world. They are Alchemy, Steam Technology, Magic and Martial Arts. These four skills are vastly spread out through culture and wandering practitioners.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ☯ }» αlʗҕeϻɣ
xxxxxxxxxxAlchemy in this world is the study of using the five elements along with life-force to quickly manipulate objects into a new shape or form. The most basic law is equal input and equal output. One who studies Alchemy is an Alchemist. One who has attained every God-Shard other than the Life Stone is known as a Hanshi Alchemist; literally Grand Master Alchemist. These alchemists are so powerful that they are considered legends among the world. By attaining all the stones and likewise using them to be in perfect balance with the elements; The Alchemist is able to tap into Life-Force itself to do any number of things with alchemy. Anything from bypassing the equivalent exchange law to animating inanimate objects and potentially much, much more. Alchemy usually requires at least one or more of the five elements to function properly, otherwise it may recoil and damage yourself. For this reason, Fire and Metal based alchemies are the rarest since fire is difficult to transport and Metal is usually scarce in nature however, this is another bypass afforded to you by Life-Force Alchemy. These five elements often work as either a catalyst to your recipe or something to bind your materials together. If you have specific way of making something, in alchemy, that's called a recipe. The act of making it is called Transmogrification, or more simply, Transmuting. The diagram of an Alchemy explanation would be a five pointed star. At the top Fire, moving clockwise we come across Air, then Earth, then metal, then water and finally we're back to fire. This is the order of the circle of weakness. Going Clockwise you'll see each individuals strength. Like wise going counterclockwise you'll be looking at their weaknesses. In the center of that star, free of any weakness or strength is Life-Force which births all the elements.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ☄ }» ϻαgιʗ
xxxxxxxxxxMagic in this world is the manifestation of one's inner life-force into the physical world. Be it for offensive, practical or defensive means. Pretty much your standard definition of Magic. While many Magics can be defined by one or more of the five elements, there are many magics hat cannot be classifed. These are known as neutrals and are Lifeforce energy being used in there purest form. Unlike Alchemy, Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Metal magics are all pretty common in their own right because the Mage is converting the Life-Force Energy. Neutral Spells are the most rare and potentially dangerous spells. Much like Alchemy though, a wandering mages main goal is to become a Hanshi of his art, that is, a mage that has mastered every Element. Only after that may a mage even consider tackling Mastering Neutrals. Even Neutrals pale in comparison to the ability that mages innately have from the begining. As any mage would know, they can combine any two elements to cast a new spell with a new elemental property. These are called Sub-Properties. This causes the elemental diagram in magic to vary from it's star shape to a web.
Fire+Fire=Light Fire+Earth=Lava Fire+Metal=Carbon Fire+Water=Steam Fire+Air=Lightning (Hanshi Mage Only)Fire+Life=WIll Power Earth+Earth=Coal Earth+Metal=Iron Earth+Water=Mud Earth+Air=Landslide (Hanshi Mage Only) Fire+Life=Nature Metal+Metal=Steel Metal+Water=Rust Metal+Air=Arrows (Hanshi Mage Only)Metal+Life=Technology Water+Water=Torrent Water+Air=Mist (Hanshi Mage Only)Water+Life=Honey Air+Air=Tornado (Hanshi Mage Only)Air+Life=Spirit (Hanshi Mage Only)Life+Life=Nothing
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ♨ }» Steαϻ Teʗҕ
xxxxxxxxxxSteam Tech is all over the universe of White Canvas and may be the most influential of the four crafts. Steam Tech is what drives all the vehicles and large cities in the world. Almost any technology you'll encounter is steam driven. For that reason, Steam Technicians are also plentiful as it is also the most familiar and easiest craft to learn. People who leave such towns in search of adventure are often dubbed Steam Gunners.
xxxxxxxxxxSteam Gunner A name given to any newbie adventurer without an real preparation. A Steam Gunner used to refer to cowboy-like mercenaries who utilized Steam Guns. They grew in popularity so quickly that eventually it just got watered down to refer to fresh adventurers with no other training. A Steam Gunner tends to go out into the world in search of treasure, but this is not always the case. Even though the meaning is lost, it's not an uncommon tradition to see a new traveler with a steam gun at his or her side.
xxxxxxxxxxSteam Technician If a Steam Gunner never decides to indulge Alchemy, Magic or Martial Arts as their soul devotion, they may eventually just become a Steam Technician. A Steam Technician is someone who has decided to study the mechanics behind Steam Tech. It is considered that Steam Technicians are the Hanshi's of the steam Gunner class, but they are never adressed as Grand Master of Hanshi as you would the other classes. Unlike other Hanshi, Steam Technicians cannot tap into any of the elements. Instead, they tap into Life-Force and use the power for an infinite magazine weapon. The power behind such bullets forces it to be single shot only, due to over-heating og the barrel. Steam technicians are generally obsessed with their work/
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ㍿ }» ϻαrtιαl αrts
xxxxxxxxxxMartial Artists of this world are not the same as they are of Earth. There are five distinctive styles based on the elements they represent. The Sixth Element is Life-Force Style and is meant to be a style unique to that person. They may be practiced in any order, but Martial Artists must travel to master all five elemental fists to attain their goal of becoming a Hanshi of their art and begin creating their own style.. Fire Style is aggressive and swift and can leave nasty burns. Air Style is hard to follow and ranged based it may cause cuts instead of blunt trauma if an attack barely misses. Earth Style is Sturdy and Patient, users take little damage. Water Style is Elegant and Force-Reversal Based, they know how to move and dodge fluidly and Metal is Defensive with Strong Attacks being firm and balanced. In order to obtain all these styles, one must study under each of the Races. Therefore, travel is a necessity.
The Five Elemental Properties
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx✖ ✖ ✖ When Noah re-created the world after the Rapture of the first God, he instilled in everything an Elemental Property with his paintbrush. The Five Elemental Properties are as followed.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ㊋ }» ƒιre
xxxxxxxxxxFire is the Elemental Power which Heats and Burns. It is the element of destruction and has been entrusted to humans. The ability to infinitely have a burning willpower to triumph or the ability to completely destroy.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ㊌ }» Wαter
xxxxxxxxxxWater is the essence of life and entrusted to the sprites of the world. It is the basis of any curative property and works with many defensive spells as well. Water is shapeless and therefore a very versatile element.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ㊏ }» Eαrtҕ
xxxxxxxxxxEarth is the definition of Patience and pacifism in the world. It keeps the ground in tact and the soil rich and fertile. It has been entrusted to the Zoans.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ㊊ }» Win∂
xxxxxxxxxxWind is the element entrusted to the Elves and is the embodiment of speed and mobility but, also that of elegance. Because of this elemental advantage, Elves are capable of shooting bows with deadly accuracy. It is the basis for any teleportation magic.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ㊎ }» ϻetαl
xxxxxxxxxxMetal is the Element of Battle and conflict. While conflict is a generally frowned upon notion, it is as necessary as the air you and I breath. It was given the the Sahvegas
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ❀ }» Ƚɪƒe-ƒorçe
xxxxxxxxxxLife-force is the ultimate element. It is neither here nor there, nor where or when. It does not exist and yet it does. It is, in large amounts this energy that gives gods there power. Life-Force has no physical form and exists in the heart of the world were all our subconsciousness's are linked together. Thanks to this, we can summon it when need be and it can take physical form by reflecting our thoughts and wishes. It's a living element. Though, it takes either great peril or great skill to coax it out of your own will.
The Six Dominate Races
xxxxxxxxxx✖ ✖ ✖ Along side the new Fauna and Flora, Noah felt that humans would once again digress into there old ways. So, he placed four other races into the world with hope that humans would reflect upon themselves based on the other races and in order to keep these newer races in check, he expanded upon a fifth race.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ♪ }» ҕuϻans
xxxxxxxxxxHumans are known by other races as vile, self-serving creatures. They are known to have caused the Rapture but, the details of the time before the Rapture are hazey at best. Humans are eternally chastised by the Elves who are quick to say how much better they are then the Humans. Humans represent the element of Fire which can either gently warm someone up on a gold night or savagely burn them to death.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ½ }» Zøαns
xxxxxxxxxxZoans are the crossing of man and beast by the current God, Noah long ago. Noah made them to remind humanity of their sins. Some times they can appear human with only minor animal traits such as ears or a animal like snout or a tail, but most often they are bulky creatures the size of huts. Breeding with humans does recess this gene though. It appeared that the gene and it's effects recess when the beastmen are civil and kind-hearted while they revert back to there original form when upset or angered. Truth be told, Zoan probably look mostly-human most of the time. They are known to be peaceful and primarily agricultural people. Humans tend to mock them Zoan, calling them Demons and Beasts. Zoans represent the Element of Earth which knows the patience required to change.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ❀ }» Sprιtes
xxxxxxxxxxSprites are small fairy-like creatures that can fit in the palm of a human boy. They are particularly sought after due to there exceptionally potent healing magic. Sprites don't typically take to humans very well; knowing that in the past they polluted many water supplies frivolously without a care in the world. For that reason, sprites often live near secluded water sources and have even been known to make there entire villages disappear before your eyes. Sprites represesnt the Element of Water which can give life to those who drink it.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ❦ }» Elves
xxxxxxxxxxElves were created to humble the pride of human beings which gave them such an awful sense of entitlement. Anything a human can do, an Elf can do better. They are stronger, better, faster and can last longer than you, with only two exceptions.. Elves however have no skill in magic or alchemy. It is said that when an elf dies, it's body evaporates rather then rotting. Elves represent the element of Wind which dances delicately above the earth.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ☠ }» Saҕvegas
xxxxxxxxxxSαhvegαs look like a cross between goblin and man. They're teeth are sharp and jagged and their eyes are black as coal. Typically, they have a Savage nature from which they get their name. They live near mineral rich volcanoes and specialize in forging weapons.
xxxxxxxxxxSahvegas children aren't typically as malicious as there parents, instead they act just like any human child, mischievous and they like to play. Sahvegas have tough skin against slashing weapons, however stabbing weapons seem effective. They say that Sahvegas are capable of loosing limbs without flinching in the heat of battle. They also seem immune to all forms of infection from open wounds and because of the normally brutal lifestyle they usually have, they cannot understand human emotions and often see them as soft. Despite all this though, Sahvegas laugh and play and enjoy there lives just as anyone else does, making them another of the dominate life forms in the world. Sahvegas represent the Element of Metal, which is the basis for most if not all modern weapons.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ♔ }» ɕo∂s
xxxxxxxxxxThe Gods of this world are many and in grand scale, from the tiniest plant to the largest animal. Gods are the pinnacle of capabilities in a given species or belief. Most Gods are of a certain object, Element or species. Any living organism can become a god if it lives long enough and falls under the right circumstances, even a bamboo chute. Those given the Hanshi title (excluding Steam Technicians) are just short of god-like power. Gods balance all elements by representing the Element of Life-Force which births and ties all elements and things together at the heart of the world and fuels Neutral spells. No one can start off as a god, except for the God, Noah who I will be role-playing from time to time since Noah was the creator of the new world. Another exception would be if I created some god-characters I wanted people to role-play as
The Talismans & God-Shards
xxxxxxxxxx✖ ✖ ✖ There are items in the Father Earth known as Talismans and God-Shards and are both different and unique. First I'll explain God-Shards since they are simple and easy to understand. God-Shards are stones, or fragments of stones that house one of any of the 20 different Elements/Sub-Elements. In all, the most basic stones are as follows and can be easily found; Fire Stone, Water Stone, Earth Stone, Air Stone, Metal Stone. Getting Rarer we'll find; Light Stone, Lava Stone, Carbon Stone, Steam Stone, Lightning Stone, Coal Stone, Iron Stone, Mud Stone, Landslide Stone, Steel Stone, Rust Stone, Arrow Stone, Torrent Stone, Mist Stone, and Tornado Stone. Still even rarer and almost never seen by commoners we have; Will Stones, Nature Stones, Technology Stones, Honey Stones and Spirit Stones
xxxxxxxxxxFinally, we have a legendary stone known as the Life Stone. It is believed that the Life Stone is one of a kind and has never been seen. Scholars say that in an Alchemists hands, they could limitless transmute and in a Magi's hands, they'd be even more powerful then the Gods.
xxxxxxxxxxAlchemist's use them to harmonize they're souls with the elements so that they can call upon a specific element of their choosing at any given time. Alchemists may also transmute the stones into other items for various effects. A taboo thing to do is to transmute a stone into a living creature. This results in a Chimera, an animal with an unnatural element alignment.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx{ ✙ }» Tαlιsϻαns
xxxxxxxxxxTalismans are said to be items that have unusual powers and are too diverse to number. There are said to be thousands and maybe many more. Every Talisman however is aligned specifically to one of six elements. There are said to be only Six Life-Force classed Talismans. Death's Soul-Reaping Scythe, War's Fiery Sword of Treason, Pestilence's Bow of Disease, Famine's Flail of Hunger, and Noah's Paint-Brush. Noah's weapon however, is symbiotic and in fact, is his hair which he uses to distort reality by painting like a paint brush. xxxxxxxxxxAll Talismans are also grouped into a grade scale of SABCDE
