Isolde stretched her wings. It seemed odd to be here, away from where she had lived all her life. Yes, they were still in Nightmare Valley but in a part of it she had never seen before. It was...almost disconcerting.
Tristan and she had decided to move, to start anew. Eggs were beginning to hatch--they wanted a new home, a new place to start their lives. This was what they were searching for.

Tristan looked around, wondering what it took for a place to be called home. There was no council here. There would be no more hippogryph neighbors to borrow tools or cups of sugar from. He couldn't quite imagine it, but maybe they could be at home with pegasus neighbors or even earth ponies as neighbors.

"Strange?" It feels like we are two tiny creatures in a great big world that isn't ours. We have nothing left but ourselves." He pulled closer to Isolde. "Is that enough to raise a child on?"

Isolde laughed, she hadn't meant to but she did. "It's enough. But it's not going to be if we can't find a place to sleep!"

Tristan pointed to a cave opening partially hidden by trees. That looks dry. It should do for at least tonight.

Isolde made her way into the cave. It seemed dry enough, rather nice actually.
A voice rang out of the darkness, "It's not exactly vacant."

Tristan jumped in surprise. He stepped in front of Isolde and called into the cave, "Who's there?"

Jafar stepped out of the shadows, "Me. But that's probably not the answer you wanted." He laughed darkly, "So what are doing in my cave?"

The pony's words troubled Tristan, but he couldn't suppress his relief. He smiled. "You're a hippogryph too!"

Tristan wasn't going to tell this creepy hippogryph anything, not until he learned his name at least. "She's with me," he said. "Don't worry about who she is. We just need a place to spend the night."

Jafar laughed, "Yeah...whatever. That's fine. But I'm expecting visitors."
