Name of Mother: ViperOwner of Mother: mewrose Name of Father: CobraOwner of Father: Geyser Eelborn Prompt Response: Another lazy day in the ThunderClan camp. Cobra stretched in the sun after a hunting patrol. This had been one of the best leaf-bares he could remember; it's nice to have a clan to help us through troubled times. He could hardly imagine being back in Twolegplace, fending for his own again. Viper will be hungry, he thought idly. Picking up a thrush from the pile, he looked around for his mate.
Cats came and went, but as he looked around the clearing, he realized with a jolt that she was nowhere to be seen. Cobra, don't panic, she might be in the elder's den... Taking a deep breath, he peered into the elder's den. No luck.
"Hey, you going to eat that?" one of the elders called out crankily.
"Sorry," he muttered. He dropped it respectfully in front of the elder and padded out. He poked his head quietly in the warrior's den. No sign there either. That's when the panic really set in. It's not like her to wander--who am I kidding? This is exactly like her to wander off! What'll I do?!Viper was trotting through the forest, following the slim, winding trail of her pet snake, Snakey. She kept losing the trail among the leaves and rocks of the forest floor, so her progress was slow. As she went, she called, "Snaaakey! Come on back to momma, dear. Daddy wouldn't like you to stray so far, you know. Let's go back and have a nice nap."
Eventually she found the little green snake, just as he was swallowing a grasshopper whole. "There you are!" Viper cooed. "Come on back now like a good boy and we'll have naptime." With his meal finished, Snakey slithered over to her, wound up her leg, then curled around her neck.
Viper turned around to go back to camp, then started walking in the direction she thought it was. Unfortunately, she rarely got out of camp and never had a chance to learn how to get around it, so she soon had no idea where she was. She stopped suddenly, blinked at the unfamiliar surroundings, then began to shiver as her eyes grew wide with panic. With a wail of fright and sadness, she dove deep under a nearby bush, scrabbling frantically to find a sheltered spot near its roots. Then she hunched into a little ball there, shivering with her tail fluffed out as her eyes darted warily over her surroundings. She wasn't in camp. That much was obvious. Fighting a wail of panic, Cobra excused himself to his clanmates and slipped back out of the camp into the woods. The snow had mostly melted, leaving the forest wet, and while that meant that the occasional patch of mud yielded a pawprint, he couldn't tell whose it was. Calm down. Find Snakey's print. She probably followed him out. But he couldn't even find that.
He shook his head and looked around desperately for a hint. Picking a direction at random, he began to lope along. "Viper! Viper! Snakey? Viper! Where are you, Viper?!" He had no way of knowing if this was the right way. For all he knew, she went in the completely opposite direction. I'll look this way--towards Snakerocks. If I don't find her then, I'll head back and ask for help. Snakes love Snakerocks, why wouldn't Snakey go there? He pushed to the back of his mind the fact that Snakey wasn't like most snakes, and just kept running, sniffing at the air every few steps.Viper stared at the forest around her, shivering and curled as small as she could go. As she looked around, she slowly stopped shivering and her wide eyes narrowed. "I see how it is," she growled at nothing in particular. "You're all trying to trick me aren't you?"
Her fur puffed up and her tail started lashing as she hissed as a nearby tree. "Thought you could fool me, huh?" She glared at a rock and added, "But I see right through it, I'm too clever for you!" She suddenly pounced on a nearby flower and started ripping it to shreds, yowling, "I'll teach you to mess with me!"It was getting dark, and Cobra was getting desperate. "Viper! Viper!!" he screamed into the gathering darkness. There was no sign of her yet, and he was getting close to the far edge of the territory, towards where the sun rose in the morning. No one knew what lived past there; no doubt rogues and loners ready to pounce on a lone warrior. Now that he had lived with the Clan for over six moons, he found himself feeling more and more vulnerable when alone.
What's that? In the wind, he caught the faintest touch of a scent so sweet to his nostrils that he could have cried. Viper! "Viper, hold on!" he screamed into the echoing woods. He sped up, sprinting into the breeze. He couldn't smell her anymore, but blind panic had seized him and he was just running faster, faster, faster. Find her, gotta find her, my Viper, don't be hurt, don't run onto the Thunderpath! He was so caught up with his worry that he suddenly found himself flying towards the ground, his paw caught in a hole beneath a tree root. Before he could pull his paw out, he heard an angry hiss from inside the burrow. As Viper finished tearing the flower to pulpy scraps, a sudden crashing sound startled her into falling over. The tumble caused Snakey to fall off from its perch around her neck, and instead of returning to Viper he instead started to slither away.
"Snakey, no! They'll get you if you leave!" Viper called, then scrambled to her feet and went after the little snake. He disappeared into some underbrush before she reached him, so Viper charged right into it with a loud, crunching bound. Snakey slithered out beside her, with another insect sliding down his gullet.
Viper turned to her pet, scolding, "Bad Snakey, wandering off like that! You could get hurt!" He looked in her direction, flicked his tongue out, then slithered towards her. But instead of climbing up her leg as he often did, he slithered past her. Viper was about to scold him again she caught wind of a joyfully familiar scent, coming from nearby.Cobra froze at the sound of the hiss. With a sinking feeling, he realized that only a forgetful cat indeed would not know the sound of an adder after so long around snakes. As carefully as he could, he attempted to draw his paw out; but all he could do was grimace as he realized that his paw was truly stuck in the den of the serpent. Oh no!
He wracked his brains for anything he could do--anything! He could try to dig his paw out--but that would take time, and he wasn't sure he had much. Surely the snake would get enraged, or frightened or something before he could get free. "Ah, great adder? Lord of the forest, of life and death? I...I mean you no harm. I am but a foolish trespasser on your world." Feels strange to be speaking like one of the cult again. "Please, give me a little time, and I will be out of your way. I mean you no disrespect...please do not chastise me..."
Desperately, his mind screamed out his mate's name, even if she could not hear his thoughts. Please, someone, help!! In the meantime, all he could do was start to scratch at the dirt around the hole.Viper bounded after Snakey, who was headed toward the familiar smell. Sure enough, they soon came across Cobra, who had a paw stuck in a hole. She was about to greet him when a hissing sound emanated from the hole. An adder! she realized immediately. Is it trying to harm him? No snake can harm us, I was promised this!
She padded up beside Cobra, standing tall and looking commanding in a way that she hadn't since she left the cult many seasons ago. Snakey slithered beside her, and when she stopped he reared up his head and flicked out his tongue. "Honored adder, leave us be! I, Viper, daughter of Mamba, call upon you to stand back. In return, we will do no harm to you."Cobra could hardly believe it when his mate appeared out of the undergrowth, Snakey at her side. He was suddenly thrown back, back long ago to when he first saw her...A silver shadow standing nobly at the curb, gazing with eyes like living things at the tom injured by the monster on the Thunderpath. An eerie grace, otherworldly beauty, of this race and of a greater race, a goddess made of starlight and rippling fur and flesh. So beautiful...so beautiful...
He shook his head to clear it, the cobwebs of his first pleasant memory still clinging. The hissing had left and he found he could remove his paw. He turned, wide-eyed towards Viper, awe in his eyes. "Viper..." he whispered in a voice made of respect and heavily sprinkled with love. Viper's eyes softened and she padded up to nuzzle her mate. "There you are, my love," she said, sounding more clear-headed than she had in a long time. "You are well? No snake or wicked spirit of the forest has done any harm to you?" She looked him over, partly to make sure that not a hair of his coal-black hide had been harmed, and partly just to take in his sleek, handsome form. If only for a moment, it felt like a thick fog had cleared from her head and she was seeing, hearing smelling things more clearly than ever. Cobra nuzzled his mate gratefully. "I'm fine. A little shaken, but..." He shook himself out and nosed his mate's pelt all over, just to make sure she was alright, though the possibility that she was hurt seemed remote and foolish now. His panic of just minutes before had washed away, leaving only contentment and peace in its place. "When you left camp, I was worried you might have wandered off and gotten into trouble...where did you go?"
And more importantly, where did we go? How will we get back? Such foolishness. He realized now that he could easily find his way back. All he had to do was follow his fear-scent back to camp. There would be time to get back, even if they made it back after dark. With Viper by his side, not even snakes were mightier than cats. The thought of snakes turned his attention to Snakey. Two lumps in his stomach indicated that he had fed well today. "Hello, Snakey," he murmured fondly."Snakey wandered off," Viper said, purring with amusement at the antics of the little creature. "I was worried that he would get hurt or lost, and when I caught up the forest spirits had decided to play a trick on me and move everything around. But their tricks are no match for the two of us, are they?" She cuddled up against him, happily breathing in his scent. She caught a bit of fear-scent on him, though it was fading. Purring again, she said, "There's nothing to fear when we're together." She began washing his pelt fondly, purely for the enjoyment of being close to him."He does that sometimes," Cobra chuckled. With that, he pressed himself against Viper and closed his eyes, purring contentedly now that everything was right in the world. He leaned over and started washing her to breathe in her scent with every lap of his tongue against her familiar, silver-tabby pelt. "Together, we can take on anything," he murmured. "I love you, Viper. I don't know what I'd do without you. If I lost you, I would be lost, too. I'm just...so glad we're together."As she felt the comforting rasp of Cobra's tongue on her pelt, Viper closed her eyes and kneaded her paws into the dirt, purring. How good it felt to be sharing tongues with him once more. How long had it been? She half-opened her eyes and said, "We never get to spend time alone together anymore. What do you say we just stay here for a while before heading back to camp? Just you and me...and Snakey, of course." She glanced at the little snake, who had found a rock in a patch of sun and curled up on it."I'm sorry...I guess I've been so caught up with patrols that I've forgotten what's important to me, not just the Clan. I promise I'll spend more time with you. I'm sure eve in leaf-bare ThunderClan can spare a few extra cats for patrols. I want to spend more time with you, too." Cobra wrapped his tail around Viper, the brief wonderment at her suddenly clear outlook pushed out of mind as he gazed at his love. The idea of spending some alone time seemed more desirable than ever. With a sultry purr, he pressed his nose against Viper's. "Of course! We'll go back in the morning. For now, it'll just be the three of us."RP: None (they came as a mated pair, though)

Application:Name of Mother: AshPetalOwners of Mother: Mikaiela Name of Father: MartiniShotOwners of Father: CaffeineCraving Prompt Response: Yawn. Another day... more patrols. Same old, same old. Even though she was still a fairly young warrior, Ashpetal had already found herself bored with the routine duties of her new position. It was always hunting, patrolling or some other task. At least when she had an apprentice she could train with her, but now Deliverertrail was a warrior too, and a fine one at that. Rising to her feet, and arched her back and stretched her forelegs in front of her. It was no use trying to sleep in. She would be woken up for some sort of duty anyways. At least she could get a head start and volunteer for something she wanted to do. Starting off to where some of her clan-mates were already gathered, she could just make out the tall figure of their deputy from where she was. Ashpetal pricked her ears, straining to hear what he was saying, until she was close enough to clearly understand the words calling for a hunting patrol. "I'll do that," she piped in, before he could say anymore. At least hunting had more thrill to it than routine border checks. At wasn't as if the Clans were at war right now anyways. He flicked his tail, perhaps in frustration over being interrupted, but nodded anyways, "That would be fine." She quickly turned around, and was about to leave right then when she heard him add, "You need to find someone to take with you. I believe Martinishot hasn't been assigned to any patrols yet, and you can see if you can find anyone else as well." She twisted her head over her shoulders and nodded before leaving the small group. She didn't recall seeing the dark colored tom this morning yet, so she darted towards the camp to search for him. Deliverertrail walked up to her past mentor. "He isn't here" her voice was low and her eyes were on her paws. "He..." She shook her head. "...he doesn't want anyone to know he isn't here... He left late last night and..." She frowned. She knew that Martinishot's sneaking out was bad. She loved him like a brother and they were good friends, but she needed to tell someone. He had been sneaking out since he was in the nursery and she couldn't stand to see him betray his clan with out someone to talk to. "No one can know... but I think he is doing something bad." Ashpetal starred at her former apprentice. She tried not to have that expression on her face, even if she was full of shock inside. Martinishot? She slapped her self mentally. She should have seen it. He did always seem tired in the mornings, and sometimes he wasn't even there when she woke up. Deliverertrail nodded her head. "Yes...hes in the twoleg place seeing this rogue Tom...uh...uh..Tucker i think..." Tucker...? The name sounded familiar, as if she had heard it muttered before under hushed breath."Don't worry," she muttered, "I won't tell anyone else." She flicked the tip of her tail, "But we have to find him." She closed her eyes. "But i can't go... I have to go out on a hunting patrol...i was already signed up." She put her ears back... "Maybe he will just come back on his own..." Ashpetal nodded to the darker she-cat, "That's fine. Go ahead." Deliverertrail puffed up her fur and touched her nose to her past mentors and ran for where the hunting patrol was gathering. Maybe she was right. Maybe he would come back on his own. She tried not to think about it. Martinishot simply wasn't in the camp, so she would have to go on her own out hunting. She ran around the back side of the camp. Even though she knew that she wasn't doing anything wrong, she felt guilty if she would be seen hunting without him. Ashpetal crept forwards, silently when a familiar scent hit her senses. Rabbit! Instinctively, she darted after it, but it was too late. The rabbit simply ran back to its burrow. She felt like clawing the ground. Why did she do that. She should have known that her scent would have blown down there from where she was, but her mind was occupied. That was it. She couldn't concentrate on hunting, so she would just have to go find Martinishot herself. Meanwhile...Martinishot blinked his eyes open. He was exhausted. He was to hang out with his dad today...well if he could find said dad. He had been looking for tucker for almost three hours before he had curled up and taken a nap. He fluffed up his fur and yawned. Lily knew he still saw his dad but that was about it. Maybe Deliverertrail too but then again she had stopped stalking him recently. He stretched and stood up heading again around the block. "Tucker?" He was trotting and rubbed against a twolegger's leg as he passed. Since he was a small kit, first time in the city he had become accustomed to twolegs. They pet him and he purred for them. Walking to find the bar that Tucker showed him he walked in breathing in the scent of Dirty men and many different kinds of drinks. He sighed. No Tucker. Rubbing up against the bar manager he meowed lightly and was rewarded with a bowl of rum placed in front of him. Yum! He leaned over and took a drink, letting out a sigh. He could be content to be himself here no WindClan cats, no BloodClan cats. He was fine. He stretched out and yawned resting back against the wall to sleep till tucker showed. It was the boisterous laughter that made the tom wake up. Or he thought it was laughter. But actually it was a mid morning bar fight. He yawned sitting up with his tail curled about his feet. Well nothing to do but watch Ducking lightly back into his warm spot. Once drinks started flying it was time to leave. He stretched and hopped down from his spot. Well Tucker was probably passed out somewhere... so that meant he either went to look for tucker... or go home. He would go find Tucker. Martinishot in his semi drunken state waddled out of the bar. Twolegs walked about and he had to sit to make it so the world around him would stop spinning. He still couldn't, after many moons with tucker, hold his liquor well. Martinishot opened his eyes and looked around. Tucker...he needed to find... Ashpetal? He blinked again. and again.. and once more for good measure. Shoot! Ashpetal couldn't see him here. She felt a rush of relief, and started to move towards him when he finally noticed her. He blinked at her. At first she thought he didn't recognize her, but his eyes widened as if he was shocked to see her. Now what was he doing? He was running off, but he wasn't doing it very well. He seemed awkward and Ashpetal wasn't too surprised when he fell over. "Martinishot?" she said running over to where he lay on the ground. Maybe he wasn't exactly okay, but she had found him.
