Kylael stared around him at the remains. The eruption had lasted days, and even more time had passed as the shower of ash had fallen. His people had spread out, seeking out new refuge and generally intigrating into the rest of the pony world. Only he seemed to mourn for their lost homeland. With a sigh, he suffled through the ashes, searching for any eggs that may have survived the onslaught of lava. Or any remains that needed to be put to rest properly.

Tesia just stared blankly at the scene in front of her. So much devestation, so much destruction. She shuffled through the ash randomly turning over stones, hoping to find a forsaken egg, a little one. Find anything, that would speak of home.

The soft sounds of someone else moving about caught Kylael's attention and he tensed. Unlike his fellow Hyppogryphs, he didn't fully trust the outsiders. Oh, they had passed the few tests that they had managed to present, but really, true trust took time to earn. He crouched low and watched, waiting for another sound to reach his ears. Something else to hint at who the intruder on this somber scene might be.

Tesia shuffled through what used to be a corridor and entered the council area. It was barely recognizeable. She headed toward the spot where the eggs were stored to make sure all the eggs were removed.

The monochromatic hippogryph let out a soft sigh when he saw the pink pony and stepped out of the shadows. "I didn't expect to see any of our people returning here. Why have you?" He didn't mean the words to be as harsh as they sounded. He was just so tired after everything that had happened, and he hadn't thought he would be interrupted in his greif.

Tesia flapped her wings three times, raising four feet off the floor and spun to face the voice.

"Bit flighty, are we?" Kylael asked. Then he realized what he'd said and winced, swallowing a groan. Let's pretend he HADN'T just said that.

She blinked at him, slowly realizing who was talking to her. "Oh, sir. I'm sorry. I…I didn't know… didn't think anyone would be here. But…but… How are you sir?" She lightly landed.

"…" Really? How was he? Seriously? She was standing in the middle of what had once been the council room and she wanted to know how he was? He tried to place a name to the face, using the task to corral his temper. "Tesia was it?"

She blushed slightly. "Why yes, sir. I'm surprised you even knew me. You recgonized me, we've never even spoke before. It's an honor to see you again." Wincing to herself. How are you? She couldn't believe she'd actually said that. How are you? How stupid was that! He must have thought she was a blooming idiot.
