When you buy something, do you guys buy a certain product?
i'll go with food here, like let's say hmm oreos.
would you rather buy oreos that have us branding on it or oreos with like arabic branding on it?
I'm just asking this question because i just came back form grocery shopping at American Groceries. funny thing about this is that it's owned by a korean. lol
There are a lot of korean brands in the store, and some familiar kind of food and fruits. but something i get pretty conscious about eating them.
like some korean packed yogurt drink, same exact concept of lets say an american product but only made by a korean manufacturer, my mom likes to buy alot of these asian products but i dont like eating some of the things she buys just cause im not familiar with it and i cant understand the text. sweatdrop
food racism or something? idk?
how about you guys? you guys only buy like american name products or do you guys also buy japanese, koreans, indonesians, malaysian, chinese, arabian etc?

Hmm. I don't really get what your talking about. I mean I think I do.
Let's see, we don't have a Korean brand vs. French brand or anything like that. When talking about "oreos" we have the Oreo brand and a generic rip off version of it that's cheaper. Um, most of everything says "made in China" ?
I guess if I wanted something that was made in Korea or from there (just using that as a reference rofl) I would go down to the Korean store in our Asian district.
Does that make sense? I don't think communist Walmart carries other brands, you know?
But yes! I prefer noodles / ramen from the Asian district rather than from the "American" stores. And tamales from authentic Mexican places! ^^

i mean like real meal kinda food or something. xp
@Madz: Well i dont think i was going for the blahvsblah kinda thing i think. xp
usually the stores here have all kinds of products from everywhere, not just some, american brand name food only or asian brand name products only. xp

Nope. I mean... crap I'll use it again WalMart, you know what that is right? XD They might carry some, like very little, product that come from other countries. But not so much that there is a choice. In little sections... sadly.

Yes, i know what a welmart is, they have commercials on tv about it, since american tv shows the same exact commercials on our tv. we're just like a few hours delayed in programming. surprised
ah, usually here, the stores have their sections, but of course basic american products will reign a little more than others but they are both equally bought.

Mmmm, but of course I love Korean Korean food over Americanized Korean food. Though I like Americanized Chinese food over Chinese Chinese food. OH I like Indian food too! My friend is from India and she made me some delicious food! lol

Asian noodles. That you can only get in asian shops/stores.
I once tried noodles from our local store, and I didn't really liked them. xD

i don't mean the differences in the quality of the food product, i mean just the difference of where it was manufactured.
like do i prefer noodles of the same kind that are made in the us, or made in china or something like that. 3nodding

That's all we have in our stores. Different brands not different manufactures. We have the name brands and the generic knock offs.
Now our stuff is mostly made in the U.S., China, or Thailand. Food mostly being from the U.S., other items from the other two countries.
If I wanted food that was made from in another country I would have to go to a specialty store like an Asian market, Indian market, etc. etc.
