With a snort, the dark brown mare flung her mane into the air and pawed the ground irritably with her foot. Even after the months spent out here in the real world, Poison Ivy had come no closer to freedom than she had when she first arrived. It was pointless, futile. Had she thought the air would be sweeter here? What nonsense. The gas seeping out of her mouth tainted all the oxygen she breathed, making it taste foul, gagging her. Had she thought the grass would be greener? Well, it certainly appeared to be. But what difference did that make? When her hooves made contact with it, the thin blades gleamed a ghostly yellow as they reflected the glow her hooves had acquired. Not to mention she couldn't taste anything over the retching sense of decay that filled her mouth.
And as she watched some horses attempt to break free of the heard, and watched others rise to power in the herd, she got herself thinking. Why was she here? She didn't want any powerful positions, but she felt no real desire to break free either. The urge to stay with other horses was great here, stupid instincts. What would they do next? Tell her to mate? Not likely. With another disgruntled snort, she lowered her head and took a few sour bites at the foliage near her.

Thanos wandered off a bit from the herd to try to get some more thinking done...well more like try to regain some more of his memories. The herd was so noisy all the time, talking about this and that. Always talking, it was so annoying...and distracting. At least out here he could find quiet...well quiet outside of his rats constant bickering. But that he had at least grown used to. Up ahead he caught sight of a horse and from the looks of it one from his herd. Damn. "Is that one of ours?" He asked his rats to be sure."Yes, that one is Poison Ivy." Peace replied. "It better be one of ours or we will have to kill her. Let's kill her anyways."Sighing Thanos picked up the pace to close the gap between him and the mare with the odd glowing hooves. Once he was close enough to her to talk at a normal tone he came to a stop. "What are you doing?" He asked her bluntly. He could only hope she wasn't out here looking for him to ask him to do something. Thanos may be the herd's leader but even a leader needed some alone time every now and then.

As Thanos approached Poison Ivy instantly tensed up. Had she done something wrong? No. She was sure she had tried to attract as little attention as possible to herself. Still, the leader was here now and she had no choice but to show her respect. Dipping her head, she cast her eyes upon the ground. "Thanos." She mumbled, before lifting her head once more.
Like usual, his two rats were scurrying up and down his body in that unnerving fashion. "I was merely thinking. It's too noisy to get a thought in edge ways near the herd." She stated bluntly, green eyes flashing. Other than that, she felt no need to say any more. She wasn't here because she wanted to be, she was here because she had no choice, so why would she expand upon her answers?

A small snort escaped him. Yes he could relate all too well to the idea of the herd being too noisy to think when around them. "And what are you thinking about?" He asked hoping that she would be thinking about which victims she would kill first, or something else that went well with the herds motives. Of course she was female and from what Thanos had learned all too quickly mares wanted foals and it was a very good chance this mare was thinking about just that. The idea made his shudder slightly.
"Think less, kill more!" War chirped at the mare. "Hush you."
Thanos gave his mane a shake to silence the rats. They could be very irritating when he was trying to talk to another cause they always felt the need to say things at the same time. It was hard enough to concentrate without their constant nattering in his ears.

As he snorted, the corner of her mouth rose up. He knew what she was talking about. However, as he asked the next question, her eyes narrowed slightly. Why did the leader have to pry so much? She'd never attracted attention. There should be nothing of interest. Her mind formed answers quickly, half-truths more than lies.
However, Poison Ivy's train of thought was disrupted as one of the mice stopped and chirped in her direction. Her muscles froze, tensing, as creeping horror slowly overtook her senses, ice cold. There was something wrong with those rats. Why did they act with such purpose? Staring right at War, a glint of terror flashed in her eyes, but her rapture was suddenly broken into millions of pieces by the simple shake of a mane. Broken. Shattered. Just like she was.
An involuntary shudder worked its way down her back as her eyes roamed back to her leader. "Hell, mostly." She forced out, her gaze still flickering to the two odd creatures. She doubted such an answer would satisfy Thanos, though. "Don't worry." She added with a dry laugh. "I'm not thinking about foals, if that's what you mean. I have absolutely no desire for them." She allowed a slight trickle of disgust to enter her voice.

Hell. She was thinking about Hell. He had done the same many times since they had left that place. He wondered just how long she had been there. Her body showed no signs of decay like his and some of the others did, so it couldn't have been long. "Were you there long?" He asked her somewhat idly. He didn't care if she answered of not. What she said next made him let out a sign of relief. "Good, we don't need any damn foals running around." Perhaps eventually, just to increase their numbers, but that was the last thing they would do. First they needed to find the other horses in this area and begin to rid the land of them.
"Finally a mare that doesn't want to be a mother!" War chirped somewhat happily. "The herd will need foal eventually though. Or at least new members." "He knows that!"

With a snort, she threw her head into the air slightly, gray strands shining like silk in the pale light. "Was I there long? Not as long as most, I suppose." The corner of her mouth turned upwards into a dark grin, "Time doesn't have much meaning down there. What was a second seemed like an eternity. I forget." One ear was pressed backwards as she remembered. This was why she had left, so she could start over. Maybe it was good that she was part of this herd, after all, everyone else knew what she had been through. Not that they cared.
"That's true. Nothing but irritating, aren't they?" She paused, green eyes glowing with the sickening light of Hell. "Did you not yourself sire foals recently?" He was the last horse she expected to mate, yet somehow four foals had been born to the leader anyway. Did he see anything in them? Or were they just another way to increase their numbers?

Thanos bobbed his head slowly as the mare spoke. He knew all to well of how time worked in Hell. "Time is a curse there. It goes by too slowly when you wish it to pass swiftly. And when you wish for it to creep by it passes you quickly." He himself had been in Hell for years, how many years he wasn't sure. But if his decayed body was any sign of how long it had been, well he didn't want to know the exact amount of time he had spent there. "But now we are free of that curse. Time is different out here. It is set and does not change."
"She does have a point you know. You did just have foals, so your argument with the mares is useless." "He didn't have foals just because he wanted to shove it in those mares faces. It just happened."
"They are irritating." He agreed with the mare. His own spawn were irritating to him to an extent. They needed attention all the time. Attention that he wasn't always willing to give. "I did. It had not been my intention when I brought Regret here. I didn't know it would happen." He gave his head a shake. Had he known...well he still would have brought Regret to the herd, but he certainly would have been more careful. "They will serve the herd as I command them to. If not..." He trailed off, he was sure that Poison Ivy would know what he meant. If the foals failed him in any way, they would be dealt with in the harshest of ways. He would not allow failures in his herd. This was why he was determined to drive his only son out. And that, he told himself, would happen soon.

Free of the curse? Well, in a way that was true, Poison Ivy reflected. She wasn't doomed to eternal hunger and damnation, at least it didn't seem that way. Of course, she'd never be free to taste the sweetness of hay like she had before, in her past life. The foul gas that filled her lungs refused to leave, tainting anything she ate or drank. "Time is one less worry on my mind." She stated, her mind still delving back between her two pasts, that of her former life and that of Hell. She couldn't understand the way she had acted before being sentenced to the fiery furnace. Was that stupid, naive horse really her?
What did it matter? Shaking the thoughts out of her mind, she focused back to their conversation. No doubt Thanos would be displeased if she stopped paying attention to him. As his sentence trailed off, she grinned darkly. Death. Where the strange joy at the thought of it came from, she was not sure. However, the urge to kill and reek havoc was great. An aftereffect of Hell, perhaps? Probably. She could almost feel smooth flesh between her teeth. The sudden longing for blood caused a shudder to ripple down her spine. "They will be taken care of?" She supplied as an end to his rhetorical question.

"Time should be less of a worry, but it still exists out here. Time works against all out here...even us." Thanos told the Poison Ivy. His red glowing eyes watched the green gas that came from the mares mouth. How odd was that? He hadn't spent much time talking one on one to the members of the herd, but how had he not noticed this before. Well he probably had, but just forgot about it.
"They will be taken care of just like we will take care of you!" War chirped. "Stupid mare." Peace sighed, he would have said something but he knew his comments would be ignored like always.
"Of course they will be taken care of." Thanos snapped. What did she think, that they wouldn't be. Was his sentence not clear enough to her? "I will not tolerate any more laziness in this herd. We have sat idle long enough. It is time to make out move." He stamped his hoof to punctuate his point.

As Thanos snapped, Poison Ivy felt anger surge within her, threatening to consume her like a wave of fire. Her ears snapped back as a particularly large plume of toxic gas shot out of her mouth. But no, she couldn't fight Thanos. As much as her instincts were screaming to fight, her head told her to play it cool. It wasn't like she really wanted to escape anyway. She just disliked being told what to do. At least in Hell she had had some freedom. Forcing herself to bow her head, she tried to suppress the raging fury that filled her.
"I was merely emphasizing the point." Noting the way his eyes were looking at the cloud of green gas that hung around near her muzzle, she flung her head, unkept mane flying. "It's nasty stuff. Whatever it is, it killed me the first time. Now I bear the brunt of those stupid humans who forced it upon me." Her ears lowered themselves a fraction lower till they were horizontal against her skull. Stupid humans. Stupid Hell. Stupid life.

Thanos couldn't help but stare at the gas escaping the mares mouth for a little bit longer. It somewhat fascinated him, though he wasn't sure why. "Perhaps," he began as he forced his mind to refocus. "You can pay those humans a visit, and thank them for this curse they set upon you." He wanted to see her reaction to such an idea. It was more of a test of her hatred to this world than anything else. Surely the humans that did this to her were long gone, but that didn't mean she couldn't punish other humans.
"Can we go kill something already!" "Hush you. Can't you see he is doing something important here."
Ears flicked about as the rats spoke again. Yes, he wished so badly to kill something but he couldn't kill a member of his own herd now could he? Well at least not this one, she may yet have some potential. But the lazy ones, well perhaps that would be the best way to show the others that he would no longer tolerate their laziness.

Although the mare had tried to keep her emotions in check around the leader, the remark sparked a great fury in her that raged fiercer than the greatest forest fire known to man or beast, it was the fury of Hell, and there was no match for it. How she longed for revenge, she hadn't done anything wrong after, had she? No. The humans had killed her, and they needed to pay. A very distorted shriek erupted from her mouth as she flung her head back, eyes rolling to show her whites, but not from fear. No, never from fear. Thanos would probably be the only horse to have heard that cry and lived, it was her battle cry, the one she sounded only when she had the intent to kill. It whispered of death and decay, and the eerie silence that followed it seemed to revertible around her skull. Kill. Death. Hell.
Her glowing hoof stomped down upon the ground, leaving a furrow that no beast with regular strength could have made. Her breathing increased rapidly until her face could no longer be seen beneath the cloud of toxic spores that circled her. Before she could rear and lash out with her hooves, or buck hard, her mind locked itself rigid. Now was not a good time to loose control. "They will pay." Her voice no longer sounded vaguely equine, more like the deadly hiss of a snake before it made its kill.

Thanos stood unmoving as Poison did her little display. Well that was an interesting reaction, he thought. At least she seemed to be able to show hate and anger if you pushed the right buttons. Now as long as she showed that much enthusiasm towards her hatred towards horses as she did humans she could very well be a valuable member of this herd. Good, he thought, they had sat idle for long enough, he was itching to action and to start their plan.
"Good, good." He said with a bob of his head. "Perhaps you can go take care of some soon. I have spent much time wandering the area's around here and have found signs of humans to the south." Thanos could only hope that this suggestion would allow her to let loose some of that anger and be the first step on her path of destruction. Then perhaps he could set her to other tasks, there was still a good deal of land to be checked for other herds and roamers. Then they would need to move.
"Well wasn't that an interesting reaction." Peace said. "Ha! She totally freaked out! I like it!"

Muscles still tense with the effort it took to control herself, Poison Ivy cast a questioning eye at Thanos. Perhaps? Had he said perhaps? Her tail flicked behind her irritably, the hairs swishing through the air like a whip. She was good enough to perform such a task, surely. But still, Thanos was dominant. It was up to him.
Gritting her teeth as she did so, she lowered her head a fraction of an inch, using all her willpower to stop herself from lashing out at the stallion in front of her, the only living thing she could see. Suddenly glad of the big cloud of gas, she realized he probably couldn't see her tortured grimace as she fought the fury that raged within her. "Just tell me when I can start." She spat, eyes flashing. Not even his freaky rats could subdue the fire that raged beneath her skin.
