WELCOME TO PHASE 1!

Hello Everyone! ... I am your illustrious test coordinator Cobra! I wrote this test to assess some basic knowledge of how we run things here in the guild! If you have any questions, you may feel free to PM me with them.

Feel free to pick up the test in whatever form you want. I have supplied both the normal looking test and the CODE for the test as well. When you have finished the test PLEASE DO NOT POST IT HERE! PM your completed test to me and I will grade it.

This test is Open Book, which means that you can get the information from whatever source you like (as long as its not asking your friends or guild mates). Almost all of the answers can be found within the pages of the guild forums... but some are problem solving questions as well.

(The Honor System is in effect! - Obviously, I can't keep tabs on all of you, and I would have no way of knowing if people were sharing answers or not, but I would ask that you all be on your best behavior and take the test by yourself. Thanks!)

Chuunin Exams - Phase 1 - Basic Shinobi Test

I think we all saw this coming considering what the Anime had lined up as the Chuunin exams, but this is slightly different then what occurs in the Anime, since obviously testing your spying abilities is pointless, considering we all know that Wikipedia is the answer to all things. (or Narutopedia). So, this little 15 question quiz will test your knowledge of certain basic aspects of the guild, as well as general Naruto knowledge, just to make sure that you understand things on a decent level, at least on a level that a Chuunin should know. You just finished watching the episode where Itachi kills all of the members of the Uchiha Clan, when you suddenly realize that there is no way he could have killed EVERYONE except Sasuke and Madara. I mean seriously... no Uchiha were on vacation in Mist?... or were out training in the woods that day? EVERY Uchiha was asleep in the Uchiha village? In complete defiance to Kishimoto's master plan, you create a character named Mizuki Uchiha who was Itachi's boyhood friend before he went all insane, who just happened to be visiting his girlfriend Kurenai that day and therefore survived. Cobra quickly chastises you for the content of your backstory. Why?

A. Cobra won't have you corrupting the storyline, because as we all know, Kurenai and Asuma were hard at work making babies that day.
B. Itachi didn't have any friends... well, except for that one guy he killed to get his Mangekyo.

13. Deil and Zane have gotten into an argument in the middle of their fight for the right to become the next Akatsuki member. Deil says that there is no way that Zane is faster then his character, because the other day he posted on eight separate occasions that his RPC ran 10 laps around the entirety of the Sand Country. After several pages of OOC chat, they finally ask Cobra for a ruling. Cobra takes a look at both of their profiles noting the following traits:

14. Narkosa and Jade are engaged in battle in the wave country when all of the sudden, Cory busts into the scene and starts laying down some serious hurt on both of them. After Narkosa and Jade decide to have their two characters team up against this unstoppable dervish of destruction, they perform two jutsu and await to see what happens. Cory proceeds to dodge all of the attacks with ease using his Sharingan eyes, then activates his curse mark whilst simultaneously pulling out two legendary weapons, channeling earth energy into one and water energy into the other and fires them at Jade and Narkosa shortly before using the Wind Instantaneous Body Technique to leave the scene, saying "You are btoh masive ph4ilur3s! Imma go kill Itachi! *disappears in smoke*" Name at least 5 things Cory did that either defies the rules or shows bad RP etiquette. (There are more then 5 answers. Go for extra credit!)

These are all of the answers as I saw them in designing the test, as well as an explanation behind each. A lot of leewaywas given if you tried to explain your answers, which is why there was such variability in the scores. As always, if you truly disagree with any of my rulings, please bring it up to me as a post in this thread.

Many people answered D for this, which is incorrect, but I gave half credit. the art of performing a jutsu depends heavily on hand seals (which is why there are different hand seals for every jutsu). What hand seals do, is to mold chakra into a specific form and effect. Therefore, a user must first gather chakra, produce hand seals, which mold the chakra, and then release the technique with the incantation.

Interesting fact : Two of the options I gave are elemental belief systems of an eastern religion origin... but of course, only the last one is the one used by the Naruto universe. (and of course the first one was from 'Captain Planet'... couldn't help myself there.)

Comments, (optional, if needed to explain your answer): The correct answer is : D. All of the special releases, such as Wood, Lava, Ice... they all require some form of Kekkai Genkai to use. Yamato is the prime example as he is able to use the wood release only becasue he was injected with the DNA of the first Hokage (who had the Wood release Kekkai Genkai).

Comments, (optional, if needed to explain your answer): The correct answer is : A. A LOT of people put A LOT of different answers here, but answer answer except 'A' only, gave you only half credit. Here's how I saw the question situation: Auto-hitting and Auto-killing are actions which are done against the will of the one who receives them. If Tenshi has ASKED you to kill his character, then you are perfectly within your rights to Auto-hit/kill him, since it is not against his will. As such, the biggest offense was that the user metagamed to show up PRECISELY where Tenshi was... and for killing him for no other motivation then you were asked to in a PM, and you hate the crazy VCs xd

Comments, (optional, if needed to explain your answer): The correct answer is : F. Not everyone does all of these things, but it is recommended, if for no other reason then to allow for complete clarity in what your character is doing.

F doesn't work simply becasue Weapons masters do not have access to STRENGTH as a strength option, and therefore cannot be 'Strong' as the new member has asked. the only class which has everything that they ask for is 'B'.

As such, I suppose only the few who have foudn the Akatsuki base would be able to get the extra credit. As for who their leader is... Duh-dun-DUNHHHHH... it's me. (My RPC 'Sai' is the current Akatsuki leader.) [Note: No one who looked at the forums so far will be punished for having done so during this test or before, so don't worry!]

Some people answered C... which COULD technically be the case, but it is a stretch to assume this within the scope of the question. (they received half credit for being partially right)...however the actual answer was D.

Regardless of whether a technique is taijutsu, bloodline, or weapon style, it still follows the same convention of posting rules that are described for jutsu. (Also please forgive my typo... it should have been that Lilly started out as a special Jounin, and could rise to Jounin.) Here is the break down:

3 A-rank technique = 27 posts (an A-rank technique requires 9 posts to learn)
1 S-rank technique = 11 posts
5 B-rank technique = 40 posts (a B-rank technique requires 8 posts to learn)
3 C-rank technique = 18 posts (a C-rank technique requires 6 posts to learn)
3rd level Shadowplay = 9 posts (as defined for the 3rd level of this Weapon Style... assuming of course, that the user has already mastered the two previous levels)

Total = 105 posts. (Good Luck Lilly!)

Comments, (optional, if needed to explain your answer): This was one of the more devious questions. Hunter-nin and Oinin are the same thing (they are just different names for each other), and ANBU agents are never specifically mentioned as any particular rank (but are appointed to the position by the Kage's request, regardless of their previous rank) However, what we do know is that Special Jounin is below Jounin. As such... so long as ANBU/Hunter-nin/Oinin/Special Jounin were placed relatively together and below Jounin... your answer would be correct. [I was very lenient with the grading on this question]

Zane is faster!

Oh man, people had all KINDS OF Crazy answers here... but so long as they were explained/reasoned, they were given half credit. Full credit was given to anyone who recognized that Zane was faster because his Secondary Strength was Speed, whereas Deil's Tertiary Strength was Speed. Everything else was a ruse to confuse you.

Comments, (optional, if needed to explain your answer): No mention is made to Cory's rank, so that wasn't a viable option. Also, no auto-hitting occurred... the phrase 'laying down some hurt' was merely figurative.


15. What are the current rules about having two RPC characters?

Rule #1 - The two RPCs can never meet. (As such, they cannot start in the same village)

Rule #2 - Your second RPC cannot be higher level then your first.

Comments, (optional, if needed to explain your answer): These were the current rules at the time the test was written, but there are extenuating circumstances in many cases. If you have 2 Genin characters... i think you can choose which one you want to act as your 'First' character.
