Lelouch ran down the empty streets, the rain soaking him to the bone. Quickly glancing behind him, his eyes widened as the number of zombies following after him seemed to have grown by the seconds. He turned into an alleyway, panting heavily. "A Dead End?!?" They started to close in on him. He was backed into the wall. He pulled out his handgun and aimed for the a rusted joint of a staircase attached to the side of the building normally used for a fire escape. Struggling to keep his breath steady, he shot and hit his mark. The staircase fell off, crushing maybe half of the zombies that were there. However, it also angered what was left of the them, as they closed in faster. "Damit Kallen, Where the heck are you?"

Kallen zigzagged through the winding streets, searching for Lelouch. The rain poured from a gray sky and plastered her soaking read hair to her neck. Where'd the damn fool go? She wondered. Her question was answered by the crash of falling metal in the next alley. Rounding the corner at top speed, she nearly bumped into a mob of zombies closing in on a panting Lelouch. She sprang into action. Most fell to the spray of bullets from the machine gun she carried with her, and a couple more were skewered by her knives. Stepping around the pile of bodies, she cokced an eyebrow, unable to resist a smirk. "Having fun?" She questioned.

Lelouch returned Kallen's smirk and one of his hands rubbed his temple. "You're late." he said ignoring her comment and sighed; Half from relief and half from annoyance. He walked over to a near-by store and opened the door and gestured to her. "Cmon, you just gonna stand there in the rain?"

Adora walked down the streets, Zombies close behind, she payed no attention. She turned into the base, and cassually went into the basement, the test area. She threw on a pair of glasses and saw zombies in glass cages, she tapped on one to hear a familier voice from behind, "Adora! are you checking out the old chap?" he joked, in his british accent, she stared him down, he knew that the zombie was her best friend, "Hows the cure coming," she asked him, cassually

Lelouch frowned but followed after Kallen. Base wouldn't be very far anyways, no more then a 5-10 minute walk. "How did we ever become partners anyways?" he mumbled more to himself then to Kallen. It seemed to him, that he and Kallen were almost like polar opposites.

Kallen whipped around and glared at him. "I heard that. Though perhaps it was because you seem to need someone to keep saving your a**." Lelouch's main function was a reasercher for the cure. He wasn't what you would call proficient with weapons.

"At least my a** is valuable enough to need saving, especially if i've got someone like you to save it. We're partners, right honey?" he said, adding in wink while grinning. They reached the base and Lelouch opened the door, gesturing for Kallen to go in first.

Kallen grimaced in disgust. "Be thankful i can save you, 'cause it's not like you can." She brushed past him disdainfully and decended the steps into the basement of the dilapidated building which was their base (though it actually housed a modern lab full of equipment and cages), but she couldn't stay mad at him for too long. Holding grudges wasn't a strong point. "On a friendlier note, how's the cure coming along?"

Lelouch walked into the base, shaking out his hair, dripping from the rain, right infront of Kallen. He grinned and slipped off his soaked jacket and put on a white lab coat. "I don't want to talk about it." he said to her while walking down the stairs into the basement. He saw Adora and her zombie companion. His expression turned serious, hiding his you could call it shame. After working hour after hour, he still couldn't perfect a cure. He was beyond frustration.

Adora heard lelouche come down, she turned, allowing her attention to leave it. "Hey, hows the cure coming?" she asked, just to egg him on. If she had it her way, she would have shot her friend in the head and gotten over the guilt a while ago. "Have ou tried feeding it real food? Like vegetables,"

Kallen sighed. Poor Lelouch. It was a huge blow to his pride, considering that he seemed to be able to do anything scienifically... except that. Hearing Adora's remark, she whirled around and glared at her. She and Lelouch might pretend to be enemies, but underneath the covering of snarky remarks and sarcastic comments, they were good friends. Besides. You didnt piss off Lelouch unless if you wanted him to get his revenge in particularly nasty ways.

Adora ignored the glare, and she looked at the zombie cawing at the thick glass screen, she looked at lelouche. "Are you starving him?" she put her hand on the glass, to see the creature stop and look at it for a while, then move where he was clawing at to her hand. She removed it and sighed.

Lelouch's facial expression betrayed him, crumpling with frustration of a brief moment before he was able to compose himself again. "Condsidering what a zombie's diet is, I don't think he'll be eating any vegetables anytime soon." he sighed heavily his gaze flickering to the zombie. "If you can find the "proper" food, then go ahead." he grit his teeth. "Not like the dead can die from starvation." he thought.
