She didn’t need her sister to have an adventure!
Gigglepaws, occasionally known as Lika, was not much living up to her name at the moment. But Salihah had been so mean! So Lika didn’t need her anymore, she’d go off and have her own adventure. All by herself. Without her!
It might have been nice to go with daddy, but since she’d overslept that was kind of out of the picture at the moment. Which was really too bad, he’d wanted to go with him so much! But that was okay too…she supposed. Maybe she’d have fun anyway. Without Salihah. Because she didn’t need her sister to keep her company at all! Nope. No, she was having fun all the way out here. And she wasn’t even lost, even though she was pretty sure the pack’s boundaries were somewhere behind her now.
Couldn’t stay home and have an adventure at the same time now could she?
So, following her dark little nose, the pup padded across the grassland, diligently poking at every rock and branch and bush she came across. Trying to find an adventure to have without her mean sister. Because she didn’t need Goldenpawed to have fun! She didn’t!

 Kisu was currently on an adventure of his own. He had heard that there were strange bones half-buried near a river around here and so was searching for them. Even though bones weren't as exciting as things like, oh ... jewels and such... if they were weird bones, they could be cool! Right? Right.
With a firm nod of his head, the young male held his head high as he padded along, sniffing at the air and looking around at everything. The only place he didn't really look was down, since he was trying to find the river first. And so, he didn't see the little puppy wandering along, quite close to him.

Adventure...adventure...adventure... there had to be one around here somewhere.
Lika prodded at a pebble, carefully turning it over and examining the bottom. Just in case the adventure she was looking for had somehow been stuck there. Somehow.
How did one go about finding an adventure anyway? All Lika knew was that they were great fun and involved learning new things about something. Or about herself. Maybe. Saving someone, or scaring off badguys, or finding secret treasures, these all counted as adventures in stories. But how did she start one in real life?
The young pup was distracted from her struggle with this when she caught sight of an adult wandering around. He didn't look familar, and he was definitly coming from outside her pack's territory... ooh! Meeting new people might be a good way to start an adventure! Lika, never having been threatened or hurt in any way, saw absolutely nothing wrong with bounding up to a total stranger.
"Hello!" she chirped cheerily, her tail wagging already in excitement. "My name's Lika. What're you doing around here?"

Kisu jumped slightly at the sudden voice, and then he did look down, tilting head at the smaller wild dog. "Hey there, kid," he half-muttered - though it wasn't in any way unkind. "Name's Kisu," he went on, tail wagging a little in response to her friendly attitude.
"Me..?" He thought for a moment. "Well, I'm looking for some buried treasure I heard was around here. You know anything about that?"

Lika's grin only grew as he jumped and then looked down, seeming to see her for the first time. Kisu. Fun name! It was short, like hers. Short names were better than long names. Definitely. Long name's like mean old Salihah's. Three syllables. Three. Took too long to say, made her think she was important or something. Meanie.
But her ears perked up quick at his mention of treasure. That sounded just like an adventure!
"Treasure? Really?" her splotchy-tipped tail wagged furiously at the idea, her blue eyes bright with excitement. "Oooh, oooh, can I help you find it? Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease? I'm good at looking for things!" she promised, hoping that might help him decide to say yes.
Oh please please let him say yes!

Wow, she was really energetic! But that could be a good thing, especially for treasure-hunting. "Sure, yea you can help. Though right now I'm just trying to figure out exactly where to look!" he confessed, tail wagging about a bit.

Helping! She could help! Oh yes, she would be very helpful! Her tail wagged so rapidly it almost seemed she must certainly pull some muscle, and the pup ran in an eager little circle.
"Where to look?" she repeated, glancing around at the wide huge big world around them. "...I don't know," Lika was forced to confess. "So much room for looking..." Where would they start at all? Perhaps anywhere would do? After all, it had to be somewhere, why not nearby?

"Well, I heard that something was found around a river near here," he said, leaning down as if it was a secret. Which hey, it was! He didn't want just anyone knowing about treasure and all. "So I was lookin for the river first."

The river? Lika perked right up. She knew where the river was! She did she did she did she did! "Ooooh, oooh, I know!" the pup squealed eagerly, almost licking the rogue dog's nose as she would have had he been her father leaning over her, before she luckily remembered the 'manners' he'd tried to teach her. Instead, she wriggled all over and bounced in a circle of excitement. "I know where the river is~!" she crowed triumphantly, eager to lead him to where they could have their treasure hunt. What she would do with treasure she hadn't the faintest clue. But it was the finding that counted. It was having an adventure that counted!
"Follow me, follow me!" Gigglepaws told the treasure hunter giddily, twisting around on herself again before zipping away. As an adult, with much longer legs, Kisu probably wouldn't have much trouble keeping up. But an excited Giggles was a speedy Giggles, and her little paws thudded against the ground as she raced to share in his adventure.
A real live adventure! All without her stupid sister. Wait until Goldentoed heard about this!
