Daniel reached the top of the hill just as the sun dropped below the horizon. His strength mysteriously sapped away and he fell to the ground, to weak to continue. He was so close, but the last attack had left him with many cuts and bruises. Daniel had gotten attacked by a small hellhound and barely made it out alive. Only the memory of his mother kept him going.
"Mom," Daniel whispered. Strength flowed back into him and Daniel continued to limp towards a pine tree. He could see light up ahead and walked a little faster. His vision began to dim and fell to the ground in front of a house-like cabin. Daniel knew he was dreaming when he saw a man with the body of a horse pick him up and bring him into the house. Daniel blacked out.
When Daniel came to, he was laying on a bed. He tried to get up but fell right back down from the pain. He managed to crawl out of the bed and drag himself to the door. He could hear two voices coming from the other side of the wall. He opened the door and peered inside.
"Hello," said the same half-man, half-horse that Daniel saw before. "My name is Chiron." Daniel blacked out again.
"Uggh," Daniel groaned as he opened his eyes. His head hurt where he fell on the floor. The centaur named Chiron hovered over him. Daniel reached into his pocket but couldn't find his dagger. He got up and backed up into the wall.
"Who are you! What are you!" Daniel asked, frightened.
"I am Chiron and this is Mr. D," Chiron said, pointing the chubby man next to him.
"Oh joy, a new camper," said Mr. D. "Are you going to pass out again or what?"
"Now Mr. D, please be nice," Chiron sighed. He truned back to Daniel. "What is your name?"
"D-Daniel," Daniel stuttered. "Where am I?"
"Camp Half-Blood of course!" Mr. D said. "Mortals," he muttered to himself.
"Camp-Half Blood is where all of the demigods come," Chiron said. "Demigods are people that have a mortal parent and a god as a parent, just like you. Either your mother or your father is a god from Greek Mythology."
"Who? Who is my Olympic parent?" asked Daniel
"We will have to wait until you are claimed," Chiron said. "Until then, you will stay in the Hermes Cabin."
