It technically wasn't stealing.

Sailor Iris just happened to be patrolling when she rounded Hank's place of work. She also happened to know how everything worked in that store, as well as where Hank hid everything. Spare keys to the front door included. If Hank had been the sort to use a security camera, things might have been different, but for now, she was free to basically walk into the building and whisk away whatever tools or supplies she needed. It honestly wouldn't be the first time she had done this either. The blonde left a note behind for him letting him know which items she borrowed (or was planning to purchase, but that was not the case today), signing it with her initials. In the morning, before she went to school, she'd call him to double check that he got her note and was not freaking out over anything. Hank was very prone to freaking out over things.

However, Hank trusted Ellie Spectre.

Either way, the Sailor Scout locked up after she picked up the two Racheting Box Wrenches she needed to borrow, tucking the keys back in their usual hiding place. It was honestly a wonder how Hank didn't experience many cases of theft. His hiding place was one of those stupid plastic rocks.

A plastic rock for goodness sake!

Sailor Iris sighed as she thought over the shop owner's stupidity before taking up a brisk jog. The evening had been relatively boring, but that was how things usually ended up on this side of town. Not too many happenings around the dump at night. She clenched both of the wrenches in her left hand, deciding that maybe if she turned in early, she'd be able to get a little bit of work done with her favorite project. All that studying for her motorcycle test had made it nearly impossible to get any real work done. Casually, mid-jog, she kicked a soda can along her path, which clunked on impact and rattled off ahead of her somewhere. That definitely livened up the quiet junkyard at night.

The empty, metallic rattling of the can bouncing on the street continued ahead for a few yards until slowing enough that Iris could catch up with it and send it flying for another half a block. The jog carried on this way for a while, the can clattering down the street, occasionally bouncing off of streetlamps and buildings until it ended up rolling away from the street and into a darkened alley, out of sight and out of interest for the most part. The noise of it bumbling over the concrete continued for a little bit --

-- and then was abruptly stopped before it could properly taper off into stillness.

Iris could pick up, faintly, from deep in the alley, the sound of the can being slowly crushed underfoot. Then a couple of footsteps, a pair of hazy green lights coming into vision -- and whisking away to the rooftops.

It was a stupid little game. It really was, just kicking a can across the streets. However, the sailor scout figured that her uniform was a million times more stupid than any sort of action she did. Gay ribbons, short skirts, and relatively no protection at all. The whole outfit was impractical at best. It was easy enough for an opponent to f*ck you up.

However, the can she had been kicking had a different idea, and decided to amble on into an alleyway. The blonde simply shrugged it off, figuring the game had ended, but then she stopped in step.

Was someone, or something there?

Her eyes glanced into the alley, and for a brief moment, she thought she saw something green. Her golden eyes blinked, and with a gloved hand, she rubbed at them, as if trying to refocus. By the time she took another look, the bit of green had seemingly vanished.

Sailor Iris was no super sleuth. In fact, she not even close to being a star Senshi. She did her own thing, lazily tending to Youma on a whim more than anything. So the obvious signs which should have been flashing out "DANGER, WILL ROBINSON" were completely ignored. "God, I must be tired or somethin'!" A bit obliviously, the girl continued along on her way.

Besides that strange little happenstance (not really all too strange when you considered the things a senshi encountered on a frequent basis), the jog back home was turning out to be about as uneventful as the rest of her patrol. Which was honestly pretty disappointing; one would think that since she'd gone through the trouble to run around in that ridiculous uniform, the cosmos would be gracious enough to grant her something interesting to make up for it. A youma, a purse snatcher, someone needing her to hold up a ladder for them, something.

No such luck. Or at least it seemed that way for a few minutes, then the stillness of the streets gave way to yet more noise. Another set of footsteps, carefully paced to echo Iris's own, some feet away -- above her. The rooftops. It was a heavier noise, suggesting more practical footwear than the poor excuse for boots Iris was wearing.

Then the noise stopped.

And if Iris happened to turn around she would see exactly what footwear had been making that noise, because it was plummeting from above and headed straight for her shoulder.

There was this strange feeling in the back of her mind that was bothering the Sailor Scout. That feeling that something was following her. Maybe it was the strange depth to the sound of her jogging steps which gave it away, but Sailor Iris couldn't truly pinpoint what had set her off. However, she could not resist turning to check over her shoulder to see if something really was following her.

Life did not play in slow motion for the Senshi of Rainbows. It almost always seemed to move at the same pace as everything else. She caught a vague glance at the offending foot, but the thing that really got her attention was the sudden painful pressure to her shoulder. More off of instinct than anything else, she bent her knees so her body fell slightly with the blow to her body, easing the pain vaguely at best. The blonde wasn't one to take a shot like that quietly either.

"SON OVA'B*TCH!!!" Her voice echoed against the empty streets slightly, but everything grew eerily silent again. Her body had been forced down, causing the girl to basically kneel before the more practical shoes that gave her shoulder a beat down. She could have cursed some more. She could have blindly attacked (which she was fighting the urge at the moment).

However, there was one thing that escaped from the girl's strangely grinning lips. "Well played... dude, well played!" Her right hand tightened into a fist as she remained in the humbled kneeling position.

The person who'd just drove her boot into Iris's shoulder really didn't look like they had that much weight or muscle to them, but that's what the heels were for. Learning to walk and run in them properly had taken a little bit of trial and error, admittedly, but Uranophane was learning to appreciate the bit of extra oomph they gave her when delivering her kicks.

The lieutenant's lips were drawn back in a smug little lopsided grin as she took a split second to assess the senshi she had been following. Those golden eyes... she would be driving her pen into them if given the chance. One after the other.

Uranophane said nothing in response to Iris's compliment. Instead she drove her knee forward, intent on smashing that slacker grin right off the senshi's foolish face.

After all of this, the Sailor Scout was still clenching onto those Racheting Box Wrenches. She dare not drop them. You didn't just borrow something, then casually toss them to the side. No, you guarded the borrowed possession the best you could. In this case, just gripping onto it.

There was no surprise to this person's new attack. No tactics relying on a back attack. Knee-to-face was met with the blonde's left arm as she swung it to block. While her face was out of view thanks to her own arm, she managed to laugh out in a rather chipper fashion "So I see yer rearin' fer a fight."

There was no fear in her voice, in fact, the blonde senshi sounded rather eager. Keeping her arm out so it continued to partially mask her face, she began to work on standing up. You couldn't fight if you were on the ground. In fact, that was perhaps the worst place to be in a fight. It was always better to get back to your feet as fast as you can, even if you weren't in fighting condition. She had to sacrifice having her right hand ready for attack, using it to push up at the ground until she had a bit more leverage. It was but two seconds, three at tops, but every second counted in a fight.

She had wrenches.

The sailor senshi was carrying a pair of wrenches.

One of Uranophane's eyebrows pitched up to her hairline at this observation. Wrenches, really? The senshi were in possession of supernatural abilities, magical powers that all the skill and prowess of the Negaverse could do nothing to duplicate, and still some of them were driven to take a page out of their opposition's book and bring weapons?

This was vaguely irritating. It was also pathetic and amusing; in spite of herself the Lieutenant had started to laugh, a low and dry chuckle without a genuine smile to accompany it. "And I see you brought some extra firepower with you, don't you realize that's cheating?"

While she spoke there was a faint pop as a clipboard materialized into her thickly-gloved hands, and by the time the two or three seconds were just done ticking by she had gripped it in her hands and swung it around -- she'd get rid of those damnable wrenches if she had to break this senshi's hands to do it.

Just before she had managed to get herself completely back to her feet, something hit her in the left arm that was still up and out. It wasn't a fist, but very flat, and it made more of a slapping sound against her gloved arm. It stung slightly, but it was nothing like that initial kick.

Her eyes blinked as she lowered her left arm down to take a look at what had hit her. A clipboard? Her smile quivered slightly towards the corners in amusement. She wanted to bust out laughing, but she fought off the desire by answering the person's question.

"Uh... no... I'm borrowin' these so I can work on m'car."

She paused long enough to quirk a brow in this person's direction (Sailor Iris hadn't really given a label in regards to gender yet, since heels on a guy would have been a bit weird).

"I take it yer with th'Negaverse... thing..." The Senshi of Rainbows had very limited interactions with people that were on the Negaverse's side. Her area of specialty was Youma. Not the Lieutenants. As a necessary precaution, she balled up her right hand again into a fist while still keeping her left hand clenched around the two wrenches.

That hit had ended up being more of a glancing blow than she'd meant it to be -- she'd been too hasty, hadn't aimed it as well as she should have. No matter, the fight was still just beginning, she still had plenty of time and energy to separate the senshi from those weapons--

--wait. What.

Uranophane could not believe her ears, and if her goggles weren't concealing her eyes they would have been widened with disbelief. This senshi had brought tools that could be easily used as makeshift close combat weapons, and the thought of using them as such had never even crossed her mind? And not only that, she was out here, henshined up and all, picking the wrenches up so she could take them back to work on her car.

The sailor senshi really were that stupid. Morons, the lot of them.

"Well. Pardon my miscalculation, then, princess..." She tucked the clipboard under one arm, took a careful step backward, positioned her legs into a more stable combat pose. While Iris prepared her fist Uranophane shot her arm forward again, it looked like she was going to swipe at the senshi's face --

-- except her intent was to tangle her fingers in one the long locks of blonde growing from the sides of her head. And pull.

There were a lot of things you didn't do with Sailor Iris.

Calling her princess probably represented a lot of those things you didn't do with her. It was extremely evident how much she liked the nickname too, the moment the word even dared to come out of this person's lips, the Sailor Scout's expression changed completely. It went from cocky to furious, her smile vanishing without a trace.

There was no real thought to her own movements as she shot in about the same time the Negaverse agent did. Her fist swung out fiercely aiming for this person's gut. However, it only made it easier for the Negaverser to do exactly as she had intended. Fingers coarsely wove through one of her strands of hair and began to pull harshly.

And it hurt. It really did. Yet, Sailor Iris wasn't the type to let it show. Once more, her smile crawled onto her lips, almost as a defense mechanism of sorts. There was no buckling under the increasing pain along her scalp, leaving the girl standing at her full height. "So, based off yer fightin' style, I can tell yer a girl. Either that or a real f** of a guy!" If it was possible, her smile grew a bit wider at her own analysis. Guys rarely went for hair if they were truly intent on a fight. Even if they were reluctant to fight, they still did not go for hair. That combined with the heel to the shoulder earlier was all the Senshi of Rainbows needed for her conclusion.

Casually, she attempted to pull her right fist back slightly so her body would obscure it from view. Between her curled fingers, her fist began to glow slightly, easily the tell-tale sign that she was preparing to do something.

Such a dramatic change in the senshi's demeanor wasn't about to go unnoticed. The very second Iris's cockiness dissolved itself into that sea of anger, Uranophane's own expression became as smug as a cat who'd just caught the canary. There was nothing quite like finding that one thing she could say to get under someone else's skin, and now that she had stumbled across something for this senshi she was thrilled just by the thought of driving that wedge in as deep as she could get it.

Her grip firm on the hair, she tugged on it like a bell ringer as she answered: "Clever. Care to take more jabs at my appearance, or am I correct in assuming you're as stupid as you look?" Her grin trembled as she laughed through it, continuing to weave the long strands of blonde between her fingers until most of her hand was lost in an extensive, elaborate tangle.

She hadn't noticed the glowing hand quite yet -- but she was busying herself waving her hand around and yanking Iris's hair in every direction, trying to see if the senshi would actually move or continue to act like someone with no reflexes.

As this guyish girl tangled her fingers further into her long lock of hair, Sailor Iris was finding it just a bit harder to keep to her normal height. Especially when the unnamed Negaverser began to pull harshly in various directions. There was a momentary thought that passed through her mind, wondering if she'd end up with a small bald spot on her head after this girl had clearly pulled all of her hair out in that section. Though her body was bending under the jerking pain at her scalp, the girl somehow managed to keep that stupid grin on her face.

"Well, I guess y'can say I ain't the brightest crayon in th'box..." she managed to get out between yanks. From the depths of her right hand fist, something peeked out from the glow, fluttering out slightly. It looked like a ribbon made of a dim rainbow. It was even dimmer than her original version of the attack. It wouldn't burn at all, but it would get the job done. The Senshi of Rainbows knew you didn't start off with your strongest attack. In this case, Sailor Iris was certainly somewhat trapped, with the Negaverse lieutenant restraining her with a leash made of hair. However, it worked both ways.

Acting fast, the girl suddenly motioned with a single finger on her rainbow-holding hand. Three words followed the motion.

"Iris... Rainbow.... Ribbon!"

The rainbow immediately shot out, rounding Sailor Iris' shoulder and almost seemed to hunt out the offending lieutenant, seeking to latch onto any portion of her.

Iris Rainbow what?!

Uranophane's grin faltered a bit in confusion when Iris invoked her attack. She honestly didn't know what to expect; all senshi had different magic, and the one spell she had ever experienced had left her eyes sore for a day. However, one thing she never would have guessed would have been honestly hearing the word 'ribbon' in a senshi spell. So for the tiniest fraction of a second, she was not sure she should believe that was actually what she had heard.

And then, from behind Iris's head, shot a ribbon -- an actual ribbon -- in muted rainbow colors, that rushed forward and wound around the thick rubber of one of her gloves when she instinctively shot up an arm to block it.

Now they were both tied up, and Uranophane was honestly kind of baffled by it. She was tied up by a rainbow lasso. She felt like she had suddenly been transported to an episode of My Little Pony. Her arm had a rainbow wrapped around it. What. The. Hell.

She did the first thing that came to mind: tried to jerk herself a few steps backward, and see if she could drag Iris around with her by the makeshift reins of hair and... rainbow.

The Sailor Scout dug her heels to the ground as harshly as she could while holding the rainbow ribbon taut with her right hand. Very specifically, she attempted to hold it so that the Negaverser could not pull it towards her body, or more specifically, her other hand. Fortunately for Sailor Iris, she wasn't a little girl, easily thrown about by the simplest breeze. The jerking motion still hurt her head (though now it was almost a numbed pain based off how much abuse had been going on along her scalp) and in all honesty, her neck was getting a little sore as well, but she wasn't very easy to move at all.

From the Rainbow senshi's point of view, it almost seemed as if the Negaverse "chick" (using the term loosely) was trying to get away. Bending her knees slightly to get as good a footing as she was able to, she also attempted her own tug. This strange science "girl" (again, using the term loosely) had been so eager to stay up close earlier that it was almost a pity that she wanted to leave. Especially after bothering to tangle her fingers in Sailor Iris' blonde hair.

A smile that was slightly different from her earlier ones began to spread upon her lips. It was not a prideful one, but it almost seemed a bit grim to look at. Possibly even sinister.

"What's yer hurry? I didn't even get t'find out yer name!" Without any warning, the Sailor Scout ducked in close to her opponent. With her left hand still clenching onto those racheting box wrenches, she swung her fist not directly at the Negaverser, but in a backhanded manner. If there was going to be any damage, it was going to be made by the back of Sailor Iris' hand, not by the tools she happened to be borrowing.
