Do lumbridge achievement diary! (Green Quest). All difficulties.
There are three main reason. One, Cabbage teleports is very useful for teleporting south of Falador. All three difficulties need to be completed. Second, it supplies 3 free energy recharges when doing some really long distance running or when ever you want it. It recharges back throughout the day. Even though there are musicians scattered around RuneScape to restore your energy anytime when needed. Finally, it helps you familiar with the area. Where things are located, which quest are where, and most importantly how to travel around runescape!

xXI_Skittlez_IXx T3h Do0D join our cc and ask questions as they arise we would gladly help out a guildie It says my rank isnt high enough for some reason? The guild chat is called "Gaia Guild", if you didn't type it in right that might come up. I think it's an open guild chat, so there shouldn't be a problem. Welcome to the guild and Runescape 3nodding

I think it really all depends on the type of account you want to develop, there are two main type of characters as far as I know which are the:
Skillers-The ones who work on skills not involved in combat(Ranged, Attack, Strength, Magic, Defence) and focus on other skills(A few are Cooking, Fishing, Farming and Runecrafting). Most of the time these are level 3's.
Then there are people that work on Combat and everything else at the same part, which is pretty fun but time consuming if you want to get everything up to a certain level.
I recommend to start off making money is to train your mining skill and mine copper and tin(I think) and Smith that into Bronze Bars, then sell them in the GE.
As Doctor said, do the Achievment Diaries, you will become more familiar with the areas. On the downside, being a free player, your area is limited to Falador and behind that border(Again, not sure), and it takes a little longer to level up.
I hope all this helped, and if you need more help, just ask.

This will seem rather random.
I'm one of those players that's on runescape usually everyday or 2, except this past week and probably for a while I won't be on much at all, but if we're on at the same time and need a hand with something, I'm willing to help out. My username won't be hard to tell from my Gaia one, trust me on that. wink
Also, your rs username might help identify you because right now I'm drawing a blank. xd
Oh yes, welcome to Rs and the guild, hope you enjoy your stay.
Last random statement (we hope), I'm on gaia randomly, like once a ... blue moon so yeah, cya ingame. sweatdrop

Once you feel you are getting bored and feeling repetitive of the free version, subscribe to members - it's worth it at a low price!
Lol - now I sound like a business man advertising something.
