Darcy stood inside the cave, rubbing her arms together. Damn winter... Usually, she'd be sitting outside the caves, waiting for the newly-appointed gaurdian. But the winter winds were WAY to cold for her to even THINK of stepping outside the cave. Jaella and the little girl had gone out there, though, and her brother lingered at the mouth of the cave. She sighed, watching as her breath swirled towards the ceiling of the cave.
Aaron stood at the mouth of the cave, seemingly untouched by the wintery weather. He looked out over the snow, keeping an eye on Jaella and the little bundle of....joy... He was also on watch for the gaurdian; he hoped she'd arrive soon. He leaned against the rough, abrasive rock, waiting patiently.
Jaella had been playing in the snow with the little girl, and had been enjoying herself, but then they found something. "Aww....poor kitty." the purple-haired child murmured, kneeling down beside the frozen body of a cat. It was curled up, like it was asleep, but....it wasn't breathing. Anyone in their right mind would have left it alone and directed the younger child away from it, but Jae was sad! She may not have known this kitty, but that didn't mean she didn't care that it had died! Poor little thing....if she had found it sooner, she would have taken it home with her!

Tish crumpled and uncrumpled the letter in her freezing hands. The woman was bundled in layers upon layers of green sweaters and winter gear, and she was still freezing! On some level she wondered what had possessed her to even think of leaving the house on this bitterly cold day. The chilling winds made the journey to the caves seem twice as long as they might otherwise have, but still she proceeded onward, sheer stubbornness - and perhaps something else- preventing her from discarding the letter and going straight home to her nice warm house and a cup of hot chocolate.
Finally, it seemed like she could see the caves in the distance, and she picked up speed - the sooner she got there, the sooner she'd get home and have her date with a Pern book and a cup of cocoa!
The little girl who stubbornly kept her face hidden behind an eerie, bird-like mask was happily playing in the snow until Jaella found the kitty. Curious rather than saddened, she knelt in the snow and peered closely at it - so closely, in fact, that the edge of her mask nearly touched it. Then she reached out a cautious finger and poked it. When it didn't react, she started petting it, humming something that was meant to be cheerful, yet was somehow bone-chillingly creepy.

Aaron saw movement among the snow before looking over his shoulder. "The new parent is arriving." he announced, motioning his sister forward. He looked back out onto the snow. Huh, wonder what Jae and the little one found that was so interesting.
Jaella blinked at the little girl when she poked the kitten, her expression turning to shock. Was she petting it?!? Even the purple haired girl found that a bit unsettling. "Um, I don't think you should touch the kitty. Let's just let it...sleep, okay?" she suggested. Something just seemed....off....about petting a dead cat.

Getting close to the caves now, Tish looked over the orange-hairedtwins that were staring at her, and looked over the letter one more time. "So.... you're the.... Azoulais, then?" She asked, feeling kind of stupid, but then it was cold out and her brain didn't work well in the cold!
The little one tilted her head and stopped petting the cat, peering up at Jaella through her mask. "Why's th' kitty not moving?"she asked quietly. "Sleepin' in the snow can't be comfy. . . it's all cold!"

Darcy nodded. "Yes, that'd be us." she said, nodding and motioning the woman inside the cave. "Come in. It's cold out there." Though, it was still cold inside the cave. There just wasn't any biting wind to make the cold worse.
"Well....the kitty's sleeping and it, ah, won't wake up." Jaella explained, trying to put it as lightly as she could. She hugged the little girl before scooping her up. "C'mon, I think your new Mommy's here." she stated, smiling.

"Thanks," Tish said as she stepped inside. True, it wasn't really warm, but it was much better than before. "I guess you don't care much about the weather when yo usend out these summons, do you?" the brunette asked casually as she dusted some of the snow off of her clothing. "It's a good thing I have decent clothes for cold weather, else I might have frozen to death on my way here."
The toddler nodded a bit and cuddled up to Jae. "If we bring it in, will i' wake up?" she asked, reaching up to tug her mask down more securley over her face. She didn't want anyone seeing what she looked like under it. A-ny-one.

Darcy smirked. "You wouldn't have died. We would have gone to fetch you before that." she said, sitting on a rock. She seemed amused all of a sudden, border-lining playful. "So, you want to guess why we've summoned you here, Patricia?" the orange haired girl asked, chuckling at the woman. "Or, shall we just cut to the chase and tell you now to see the look on your face?"
Aaron sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Please forgive my sister's rudeness." he said, offering an apologetic glance to the woman. "Please, feel free to take a seat. You may need to."
The purple-haired teen offered the little one a sad smile. "Sadly, no.....kitty's taking a final nap. It won't wake up here, but it will in a better place." she said, trying to word it as best as she could. She made her way into the cave, smiling at the new adult. "Hi Ms. Patrica-lady!" she chirped, smiling an waving.
