It was the Age of Destruction.
The world was in ruins.
War and death had ravaged the land of Pern beyond recognization.
When a human accidentally stumbles upon an egg during a scavage, it hatches.
That was the beginning of the Age of Dragons.
As more people find their destined Dragons, they become Ryders, taming their pets.
But human nature took over again, and a King Ryder rediscovered lust for power. He hunted down most of the Ryders and killed them, destroying their bond to their Dragons. These Dragons became wild.
That was the Age of Exodus.
The King is still living, believed to be the only Ryder left in the world. But when his dragon's eggs disappear, he fears that they will become a threat to him again.
This is the Age of Dawn.
All the Ryders and Ryders-In-Training are sent to a secluded area called Cerebia, an academy hollowed out in one of the largest and widest mountains in Pern. The Hatching Ceremony is about to start. Which dragon will choose you?

12. Cussing, violence, and romance are allowed and accepted, but please don't go overboard.

Nie was born in a family of four, her, her parents, and her little sister. Her mother died when Teslanar, her sister, was born. She went to Cerebia, a Ryder Academy in the mountains of Pern where her father was teaching.

K'ar was a student under Nie'lle's father, one of his best. He tried to befriend Nie when she first came but she didn't like him much. He had grown up in Cerebia because his father had also been a Ryder, killed by the king during his reign. He wants to seek revenge. He had already graduated from Cerebia and came back to visit. He has one of the rare Dark dragons. His is a Queen named Zekiiel.
