Zoran had spent the past couple of days learning just about all he could about the Dawn Walker pride - customs, traditions, etcetera. He's decided, an lieu of his......hunting skills (or lack there of) he'd be a guardian. And though he knew that meant guarding the pride, he couldn't help but think that maybe he could get away with, maybe fore a little bit, 'guarding' his favorite little princess.
He hadn't seen Acenath in a while, mostly due to his learning, and so he set out to find her.
Yep, that was the first thing that came into his mind when the sun rose. Find Ace. He stood from where he'd napped the night before - he'd make a mental note to dress the little space up a bit more in the future - and stretched. After a large yawn, the golden lion began to creep quietly through the stone fortress, quietly peeking in rooms.

Ace had been working over time to make up for the fact she had brought Zoran home against the pride rules. She didn't have to work over time but she had been hunting more for her new siblings and doing everything she could to make sure her mother was okay. It was a large litter her mother had recently had and there was part of her that just found it a little weird that originally there was four of them, four girls but now... now there were hundreds of them! Okay not literally hundreds but it seemed like it with all the hunting she had been doing to feed them.
When did she see Zoran last? She hadn't the slightest idea, she missed him. He was fun to be around and she liked him a lot. Akinyi had been keeping an eye on him for her so Ace knew how his lessons were going. Yes she probably shouldn't spy but sometimes, well sometimes you just had to. She had woken up this morning with Akinyi fast asleep next to her. Akinyi had helped with a lot of the hunting recently and so Ace got up early today to give her some rest. Ace could hunt alone today, though she really really wanted to go and see Zoran.

After somewhat inspecting every room, Zoran - ears drooping slightly - decided to go outside. Maybe she'd already headed out to hunt. He sat there by the door, expecting since he hadn't seen her inside, to see her returning eventually. The thought that maybe she hadn't left yet, and had somehow evaded him never crossed his mind. If it had, then he'd have been thinking, frantically, of why she would have been trying to evade him, and suppose she was mad at him. Of course, assuming the worst. But luckily Zoran's mind didn't go there.

Ace had left though she hadn't gone very far as she had forgotten to see if any of the siblings were awake, in which case she could always take one or two with her so they could observe. Granted it probably wasn't her job but she could be a good big sister right?
However as she reached the door of the temple a smile crossed her maw instead. She would recognise that lion anywhere!
"Zoran!" She ran towards him, she hadn't seen him in so long! "How are you? I haven't seen you in ages!" She slowed as she got closer so she wouldn't actually run in to him. After all he might be annoyed with her or something as she broke the rules to get him in.

Zoran's over all expression brightened. "Hiya! Yeah, sure has. I was kept pretty busy. What about you? How's the little sibs?"
Zoran could hardly fathom the thought of his mom and dad having another litter with him all grown up now. He wondered if Ace felt odd at all about it.

"The little siblings are good, there are a lot of them... like lots. Not sure how mother survived birthing them all to be honest." She was happy that she had been born to a litter of four girls. At least with four girls they had all got on pretty well. The smaller litter, she knew she wouldn't be close to any of them really there were so many of them and well... she was so much older.
"Would you like to go for a walk?" She really should be out hunting but she could take a break right? After all she hadn't seen Zoran in a while and she missed his company. He was fun to be around and she liked him, a lot.

"A walk would be great!" Zoran said with a grin. "Yeah, that's a lot of little 'uns. Your mother must have a lot of patience to put up with them all!"
Cause he knew when he was little his siblings and he was a paw full! He probably wasn't missed too much when he went to explore the world beyond the pride lands...his parents had the others to keep them well entertained.

Ace nodded and smiled. It was so nice to be able to spend some time with Zoran, she had missed him so.
"Mother and father seem to have stupid amounts of patience. I do not envy them though and they grow so fast as well!" Ace couldn't help but wonder if she had grown that quickly. She wasn't sure if she did but these siblings of hers sure did.
"Have you completed your lessons now?" She hoped he had. If he had finished all his lessons then they could be free to hang out together again. They could go play in the water again or go hunting together or something... anything would make Ace happy.

Zoran nodded, "I have." Zoran was now a guardian, seeing as his hunting skill were pretty much made of fail. But hey, at least he could always make the excuse that he was 'guarding' Ace! Yeah!
"So, what'cha wanna do?" He asked with a sunny smile.

"ooo a Guardian!" She chuckled a little trying to tease him. She knew about his hunting but she still wanted to get him hunting properly but that could wait for another day.
"Want to go find some water? I could do with a bath...." She left it hanging hoping that maybe he would remember last time they wer in the water together, it was so much fun! Oh she missed those days, with her little siblings and stuff. Though it made one rather maternal, then again this was Ace and she was always a youngster at heart anyway. She would much rather help others then start a family but then who knows that could change.
"So want to go swimming?" Though granted would be a little trek to find water to wash in.

Zoran totally figured the whole guardian thing would be a good excuse to give when seen simply hanging out with Ace, so no one would get on to the newbie. He was her own personal guardian. Either way, the teasing was taken well, and even he had to chuckle a bit.
"Swimming sounds like a good way to start the morning," Oh yes, he remembered. It was fun, indeed, though he found the sand liked to stick to his wet furr, and thereafter would require a not-so-tasty bath. Not that he was a clean freak by any means! He just wanted to look good.
For who? For Ace? If lions could blush he might have at that thought, but all the while she managed to keep his bright-eyed grin.
"Shall we?"

Ace couldn't be happier to go on a small trek to find water with the only lion she wished to really spend her time with. She adored being able to just spend time with someone who saw her as an equal, or at least seemed to. She couldn't really tell exactly what he was thinking but she could wonder and hope. He treated her as well as anyone and it wasn't like he knew she was a princess when they first met!
"So how are you settling in?" She decided idle conversation had to happen on their mission to find water! After all a walk in silence would just be a little too boring for her liking. Oh how she had missed this lions company! It was nice to be just the two of them again. However mean the thought might have been Ace was really rather happy she had got up without Akinyi today. Having space for just the two of them was really quite something.

"It's goin' good. It's a lot of stuff to remember, the lessons- Hey! You think if I play dumb enough they'll toss me in lessons with your little siblings? I think I could learn better at cub speed!" He laughed at his own joke, "Just kidding, heheh."
It would have been hilarious though - a grown lion like him 'in class' with a bunch of little runts always wanting to play with the big kid. When he was little his siblings and had no lessons to attend. It was all 'learn by example.' Zoran liked this more formal kind of education though.
Even more though, he liked the company. He was getting to know more pride members, but Ace was special. And it wasn't cause of her title either. After a short while of walking he playfully bumped her shoulder with his own and chuckled, flashing of look of 'let's play!' her direction.

Ace just looked at him when he mentioned learning with her siblings. It was one of those 'are you serious' looks but she couldn't help but laugh when he said he was kidding. She wasn't sure if anyone would want to be in a class with her siblings there were... hundreds of them!
"I am sure you are doing perfectly well in your own lessons!" She added just to make sure he knew she thought joining anyone younger was a rather silly idea.
The look he gave her though brought a rather large smile onto her face almost instantly. It took no time at all before she lowered her body to the ground facing him and then took off pouncing at him. A friend to act like a cub with was much better then playing with cub siblings that was for sure!

His tail swished side to side as he watched, bright eyed and full of anticipation, as she readied to pounce. When she did, he jumped into the air in mock fear and began running, though not too far before turning and readying to pounce at her in return.
Indeed! I was much more fun to play with someone your own age! Cubs were too easily breakable. Of course, they'd probably find two adults playing rather amusing. Silly adults! Playing is for young 'uns!
"Haa! I'ma getcha!" he exclaimed with laughable false bravado, the smile on his face too bright to be serious. Plus the only thing he had ever pounced successfully in his life was a rock.
