The sun was rising over Durem, wincing slightly Sam flipped down the visor of her jeep before reaching for her sun glasses. The sun could be nice at times but not when you had been driving all night with no rest. Her latest search was becoming more then a little annoying. An isle that appeared and disappeared on it's own whim it seemed, held the next blade on her list. The blade of Justice, it would be the center blade that she would hold. The main issue had been that Seere couldn't tell her where the isle was going to appear until it had...and that likely wouldn't leave much time for them to get to it. So Sam had started doing her own searching and after a drive of a few hundred miles and a couple days had several nautical maps held securely in a locked map case; several of the maps were illegal for use by civilians something she didn't let stop her.

The roads were still quiet only a few early morning drivers were up and about, the Casino came into view as she came over a rise. It was hard to miss the place as it took up a city block all it's own. Sam didn't catch wind that something had happened until the security guard to the private garage stopped her, they knew her vehicle as well as her but something had them on edge. Frowning deeply Sam parked her jeep and grabbed her map case heading into the casino quickly. The main floor seemed quiet enough a few employees moved around doing routine cleaning as she walked through. She picked up hints of movement as extra security personal moved through the area, she could have stopped one of the men or even called Seere but she didn't feel like talking to a grunt or putting up with the Demon's patronizing personality so Sam headed to private elevator and headed up. Mi would know what was going on...

Not wasting time Sam headed toward her friend's office.

Mischa glanced up from the paperwork when the door opened. She stared, startled for a moment, then got to her feet, rushing towards the other woman. "Sam! You are alright! Thank goodness! I was worried when we didn't know where to get you. Or Seere. You didn't run into any trouble did you?"

Then.. "Kyrie got shot protecting me. Well sort of. She was looking for me and came through the door. The woman shot her instead of me."

She stopped staring at Sam a minute. "I guess I should start at the beginning, no?" A faint smirk appeared on her face, but there was worry deep in her eyes. Some relief too at seeing Sam but it didn't stay there long. "You wouldn't believe what has been going on here."

Mi seemed to know what was going on and was happy to talk about it, frowning some Sam moved over to a chair in front of the desk. It didn't sound good at all someone had been shot...Kyrie, really though who would shot Kyrie. Somehow in Sam's mind shooting Kyrie was worse then giving her soul to a demon prince.

"Is she alright? And..." pausing a moment Sam drops the map tube next to her chair, "yeah the beginning would be good, sounds like I chose the wrong time to pick up a few things."

At the mention of Seere Sam cleared her mind and reached out for the Prince, she didn't want to call him to her but curiousity had her especially after the news. Nothing too exciting came from the small prod, "Seere isn't that far away likely in the casino." Stretching her legs out Sam made herself comfortable, rolling her shoulders she adjusted her coat as well making sure she had easy access to the shoulder holster under it. She didn't know what had been going on yet but having her gun ready was comforting.

"Good. That means he's back too. Kyrie will be happy about that." Mischa commented then she sighed. "It started with an odd appearance in my room. Someone rocking back and forth and muttering something. They vanished when I neared them. I thought at first I was seeing things. Asmo did not believe me so I went to see Edward." She smiled faintly but then a frown appeared as well as a bit of anger.

"I was not the only one to see such. There were four other instances of such. One appeared at the shop even. Edward said they were speaking High Enoch, something only the highest ranking demons would know and that all they could hear was the phrase 'she's coming'. That's when it got ugly." She growled angrily. "That was the first time. The second time, someone got into my room, left the window open and I found a piece of fabric with blood on it. I think it's from whomever is warning us."

"She picked me at random because I was the first one to leave the shop. The first one. And she even commented that Edward would not like it if his summoners were threatened. She said a few other things and after what Kyrie said, I'm sure she has a grudge against Tae more than Edward or Hae." Mischa's eyes narrowed, her fists clenched tightly. "She really ticked me off putting a gun to my forehead. If not for Kyrie, I'd be dead. As it was the poor girl got shot instead of me. I owe her."

Mischa paced for a moment then she said, "Her name is Sibyl van Helsing and she's Gabriel van Helsing's daughter. She's intending to kill Edward, Hae-min, and Tae-yul. And Sam, she's not just a hunter, she's also a summoner. They are removing all the mirrors and taking them to a warehouse, and Tae said that we need to stay out of heavy shadows. Kyrie seemed to think she could get information that way. That's why the place has more lights and is more lit up. I'm not sure who she's summoning but she teleported out so we have to be careful. I think Edward and the others are in real trouble and so is every summoner out there."

Shoving a stray curl from her face, she added, "It's so not going to happen."

Sam twitched slightly hearing the name Van Hellsing, she didn't run with hunters often in her line of work but the name was familiar enough. "So the appearance in your room and in the shop...someone powerful is trying to give the summoners heads up."

Digging around in her jacket pocket Sam pulled out a decorative cigarette case, she didn't often smoke but the situation seemed to demand it. Opening the case thin black egyptian cheroot cigars lined the case. Holding the case up she offered it to Mi, "mind if I smoke?"

"This cloth with blood anyone taken time to look it over? Not so good with the magic bits myself but blood might hold a link to whoever it was." Knocking her boot slightly Sam furrowed her brow as she took in the information, "so ghostly figures and then someone physical that actually came into your room. Then you get a gun held to your head by a hunter..." her lip twitched in amusement, "it's not hard to imagine someone pissed off at Tae..." straightening her expression to something more serious she looked back to Mi, "what was it Kyrie said exactly?"

Murmuring softly to herself she mused to herself, "a hunter and a summoner - hypocrite much." Quirking her brow she watched her friend at the last statement, "there a game plan then?"

Mischa shook her head, slightly amused. "Go ahead. This is your office too, Sam." But then she frowned slightly. "Kyrie said that Gabriel van Helsing killed Tae-yul's sister and Sibyl killed his parents. He hates her. I think we've been stuck in the middle, but honestly, I consider Edward and Hae friends no matter what threat Tae thinks I am to his and Edward's relationship. I don't want anything to happen to any of them. Even Tae."

"Mainly we have just trying to keep everyone here safe. And I've been watching over Kyrie. Getting rid of all the mirrors in the casino and if not, keeping them so lit up that they are blinding." She paced for a moment before turning back to Sam. "She really pissed me off, Sam. And I'm not taking this. Asmo isn't saying much, but I can't do anything without he, Theros, and a pack of hounds on my heels."

"As for the cloth... you are going to think this is strange, but when I first picked it up, I could have sworn the blood pulsed in some way. Almost like it was alive. And there was a pattern there. I'm not sure but it was just the image I had of it. I've had it in my pocket since." She pulled out the gray scrap of fabric, holding it out to Sam to look at. "It's silk I think, but I don't know anyone who has ever worn anything similar. Kyrie seemed to think it belonged to someone she knew. Bassett had a piece also but his had no blood on it. It was strange. Kyrie said she would protect us as long as she could, but her words were rather odd. She made it sound as if it were Sibyl's demon that was trying to help, but why?"

Sam lit the cheroot as she listened to Mischa, "so a feud of sorts ... Hunter's are killing off summoners sort of thing and want to finish the job. That is assuming that it's a family business." Her lip twitched in amusement at Mi's comment about Tae and Edward, tucking that bit of information away she was sure a few thoughts in that direction would keep him pissed off enough to stay out of her mind.

"She caught you off guard and now you don't feel safe," Sam looked over to Mi thoughtfully she should have had Asmo or someone close. "You carrying anything for protection?" Shifting her weight Sam got to her feet and leaned against the desk waiting for sight of any weapons and paused to get a look at the cloth.

"Feeling anything from the cloth now?" The cloth didn't look particularly special to Sam but if Mi had felt something maybe there was more then meets the eye. "Well Sibyl is a hunter...maybe the demon doesn't like hypocrites either?" shrugging slightly Sam cracked a grin at the statement before looking more serious, "maybe the demon is playing at some other motive, get rid of it's summoner so it can do something else...have you had a chance to talk to Asmodeus or Edward about it? If they know who it is...might give an idea of what it's after."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 27, 2010 10:14 pm

"A feud sounds about right for the way she talked about him. It was in her voice that she hated him a great deal." Mischa shrugged as she thought about her second question. "I have the gun you gave me now. I had been leaving it here but not anymore."

She stared at the cloth. A shudder slipped through her. "Not beyond that first impression, but I get the feeling that the blood was done deliberately for some reason. I'm not sure why though. It's just... a feeling I have. Like there was some power in the blood on that cloth. It was almost like someone spelled out a warning... in blood."

Mischa smiled a little in amusement. "A note would have worked just as well I think."

"As for the big jerk... he's not been saying much. That first night I yelled for him and he didn't answer. I hit him in the face with a pillow when I found him sleeping in his harem. Woke him up the second time also. Edward said that only someone within a couple generations of Lilith could speak High Enoch. That means someone high up is warning and trying to help, but I've not had a chance to talk to him since Kyrie was shot. Edward was busy but Tae talked to Theros. I've not taken the cloth there yet. It's happened since then but I was thinking I might show it to Hae and see what she thought of the blood pattern on it."

"Hrm, gun isn't bad. But you have to have time to pull it and aim...we'll get you out on the shooting range when there's time. But first I want to get you a back up." Leaving her cheroot between her lips Sam straightened her left arm and rotated her wrist, there was a popping sound as a mechanism was released and a black sprung up from her sleeve with a fluid motion Sam closed her hand around the handle, "sometimes a gun is too noisy or too dangerous when someone gets close up."

"Note might have been too obvious...if the blood was left with a reason they must of had the idea that someone we know could figure it out." Frowns slightly and nods hearing about Asmo, "well if the hunter is getting close to something important might draw the attention of someone important. When were you considering going to talk to Hae? I don't mind keeping you company when you go...strength in numbers and that sort of thing."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 27, 2010 11:03 pm

Mischa nodded. "I'm open to you teaching me. I don't like the feeling she gave me and I want to help protect them from her. She should not have shot Kyrie or threatened anyone else." Her mind was set on doing something to prevent more and learning to use weapons would help. She would not be a victim again.

"In a day or so. I want to make sure everything here at the casino is protected before I venture out to the shop again. I figured that might give Edward more time to get information that he could tell us to help us all. And I still think the blood has a pattern to it. I'm not sure why, but.. " she finally shrugged. It could be her imagination. Or not. Somehow with the things going on, it was more than likely not.

"You are welcome to come along. I think we need to corner Asmo and Seere though and find out what they both know. With everyone at risk, they should be more forthcoming with information. Maybe."

"Might give her a bit of pause at least, we can work on getting you set up better when your not seeing to casino things. Have to see about getting you a wrist sheath of your own, I think your wrist is daintier then mine ... I doubt my spare will work right." Sam took a moment to savor the spicy taste of her cigar, planning it gave them something to do while they circled the wagons.

"Not sure he'll be any help but maybe talk to Alex about that bit of blood," shrugging slightly Sam gestured toward the cloth.

"I don't think Asmodeus is going to be much help unless he wants to be....I'll talk to Seere and see if he is interested in helping. He may or may not...but I think Sibyl shooting Kyrie might work in our favor in that department." She knew Seere didn't like anyone messing with those he considered his which included Kyrie.

"Well, if we can get either of them to help, then that's more than nothing." Mischa replied, shrugging. She brushed her hair out of her face as she poured herself and Sam each a cup of tea from the pot nearby. Sitting it down on the table, she sat down, crossing her legs.

"I really think this woman will not stop at killing Edward and the others. It was in her voice. I think she would kill every summoner she can without hesitation. Although, it seemed odd to me that she apologized to me twice when she put the gun to my forehead. Why apologize? It just did not make sense. If she was feeling something she should not, we might find a way to make her hesitate the next time. That could be to our advantage, Sam."

"Asmo can be a jerk, but he's been different since this attempt. He's been paying closer attention to what is going on around him. So has Theros and the other demons here. He will back up Seere, so if Seere is in it, then Asmo is in it too. They are partners as much as you and I are."

Sam frowned as she considered the information, "she apologized...and her demon is attempting to stop her by warning us. I wonder if there isn't some other force we haven't seen yet...who is this Gabriel to her? Does anyone know what part he plays in all of this yet?"

"As for her not stopping with the shop...if she is a hunter she might just have it in mind to take out everyone she can..." the hypocrite bit still bothered Sam. If the girl was a hunter and a summoner she seemed to be two halves that wouldn't get along.

"Hm, she's drawn a lot of attention to herself...question is with so much attention on her what is she going to try next." Sighing Sam glanced over the room, "I wonder if there is some way to put a stop on that teleport trick she has..."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 28, 2010 6:24 am

Mischa shook her head. "I don't know if her teleportation can be stopped. It's connected to her demon. And this Gabriel is her father. He most likely put her up to this or... it does seem odd that she's acting. Maybe she hasn't been a summoner long and it is affecting her in some way."

The girl frowned intensely, sipping her tea before continuing. "She apologized because I was the first and picked at random. Said she had to send a message in some way and that killing someone would give them a clue. We've been very careful to remain inside. But the thing of it is. I wonder why she tried to kill me up so close. Wouldn't it have been easier for someone to do it at a distance. Then no looking in their eyes and gone before anyone knows what happened?"

The thought had not occurred to her until now. "As you said, hypocritical or conflicting at the very least of what is known of a hunter. Even Tae seemed as if it were unusual for a hunter to be a summoner also. Maybe something else is affecting her." Mischa finally shrugged, shaking her head again. "I don't understand it. Anyhow I think it's best we give it a day or so and then go see Hae. And if she is aiming to kill them, I imagine that she's sitting somewhere outside the shop. Is there a way we can get inside without her knowing? It's a chance, but I don't want to pull Hae out into target range of the girl. Nor even Edward and Tae."

There was little safety at the moment but what little they did have, they needed to use wisely. Even she understood that.
