As you step in the door, the first thing you notice is the smell. The smell of smoke, ale, cooking, and a myriad of scents coming from the patrons themselves. The next to hit you is the sound, everyone is carrying conversations around you, a few bits of one heard, then bits of another, all blending together; making no sense whatsoever. The room is decorated sparsely, besides the chairs and tables that is. The walls are plain wood, the bar polished to a shine and kept that way by the woman who stands behind it. She always wears outlandish clothes, never the same thing twice.

As you look her way, she smiles at you, beckoning you farther inside. To the right of the bar is a staircase, presumably leading up into the second story you spotted from outside.

I pace inside and peer around for a bit. I am a new staff member to this place and clearly the woman beckoning me would know what I was supposed to do and where I was supposed to go. I slowly pace over to her and bow with my head, "Hello" my voice is soft as I'm only moderately nervous, "I'm Ellen Rose..."

She smiles as you approach, wiping her hands on the apron she wears, tied around her waist. "Why hello Miss Ellen, you're the new staff 'round here aren't you?" Without waiting for an answer she reaches behind the bar and plucks a key up and tosses it to you. "Your room is upstairs, right hand side at the very end. Decorate it however you wish as long as it is the same when you leave. Today is pretty easy, all you have to do is get settled in." She smiles again. "My name's Hilda by the way. Pleasure to meet you."

A man with a pallid complexion and sharp features that cast dark shadows on his long features ducked inside the establishment, lingering within the doorway for a long moment as if still deciding whether or not to enter before taking the deciding step. He was dressed rather queerly for what was normally accepted by any he had seen in his travels; this was something he prided himself on. Long, thick black hair reached to a little above his waist and only subtley reflected the surrounding light, so deep was its color. Intermingled within the man's sparse bangs and front locks were many strands of bloody red, coupled with several veins of palest moonlight on the left side.

The man seated himself at a stool at the furthest end of the bar, sitting sideways so as to have only the wall at his back and nothing- and noone- else. He leaned one black leather-clad forearm on the bar and took in his surroundings, taking a mental inventory of the objects, the beings, the feelings in the place. Beneath his mid-thigh length coat, which happened currently to be open, resided a simple black tunic that retained no mention of sleeves and dark pants that hugged his thighs and flared out subtley at the knee, partially covering hand-tooled boots of such a queer design that there likely were not a similar pair in existance. Sa'lans Wain took a deep breath through his chiseled nose, gathering into his senses the myraid of senses that filled the place like the most complex cologne. This place seemed to hold no ill boding as of yet for him. No expression was shown on his face as he glanced around with slitted yellow optics, his attitude perhaps slightly stand-offish yet seeming approchable enough, strangely.

Hilda smiles slightly at the rather outlandish man that takes a seat at the bar. She nearly laughed aloud as she watched him place his back to the wall, therefore being able to keep an eye on all the occupants, of which there weren't many at this early hour, and so that he could watch both the entry in and the stairs leading up. "Hello there, stranger. You know you can relax here, this is neutral territory. No one can cast an aggressive spell, nor can they draw blade unless at my say so. My name's Hilda, if you're to be staying around I'd like to know yours as well."

Her eyes were clear and jovial as she cleaned the already pristine bar yet again with the rag that, when not in her hand, was tucked into the side of her belt. She glanced at the fire, eyes squinching a moment as she debated whether or not to put another log on. She mentally shrugged, deciding it wasn't entirely too cold outside, despite it being early winter.

I walked in looking around, I didn't really know where I was. My journeys have gotten me lost as I've been going around now for some time. I stand right within the door, perhaps this wasn't the right place. I stand there as i think about turning around and continuing on. Its not like I have any place to really go either way...
