Nalani relaxed on her back on a low grassy hill in the park, hands behind her head and one leg stretched out in front of her, the other pulled up slightly, her knee in the air. She breathed in the air deeply, enjoying the full use of her windpipe. The grass prickled slightly under her neck, brushing against the slightly raw patch around her neck where her purple collar had once been. Shortly after meeting Achilles, she had removed it, one in an attempt to prevent it from slowly strangling her and two to begin to move past her old ways. So far, she hadn’t really interacted with anyone since that time, and was still a little unsure of how exactly to behave. Removing her collar had helped with the latter reason, though. Being completely unhindered by the tight material, Nalani felt slightly more in touch with the world around her; every breeze, every breath she took, everything felt fuller now that she wasn’t constantly being half choked. Feeling free physically helped her to react more naturally to the cats she observed, but she still viewed everything from a slight distance. Sliding her hands down to the back of her neck, she rubbed the ring around her neck, feeling the skin. It would scar to be sure, but it was better than the alternative.

Sita was walking through the field outside of her new 'home'. She liked it but she still hadn't met anyone in this area and didn't quite know if it could be her home or not. She felt happy here, and Birman was very nice, sweet even. She blushed and stopped to pick some flowers, not noticing the other cat not far from her. She picked some flowers and put them in her red curls. She smiled and smelled another wild flower before putting it behind her ear. She hummed softly and closed her eyes as she thought about how excited she was to just be someplace nice and quiet.

Eyes closed, Nalani listened to the breeze rustling the leaves, thinking about nothing in particular. It was a nice day, and the Havana didn’t find any need to muse any deeper than that. She lay there, enjoying the smell of the flowers nearby, inhaling again to take in the aromas. Breathing in, she caught the scent of something else on top of the wild flowers. Cracking open an eye and turning her head slightly, Nalani caught sight of a redheaded female bending among the flowers, humming quietly, though that was barely distinguishable from the breeze from where Nalani was laying. The female seemed to be in her own world as well, so the Havana Brown decided to leave her be for the moment, crossing one leg over the other, jiggling her foot slightly in the air. Closing her eyes, she started to whistle, not really thinking about the tune. [[She’s actually whistling this -> [X]]] Breathing in calmly again, Nalani drifted off on her thoughts again, enjoying feeling unworried about anything at the moment.

Sita opened her eyes and looked over from the flower to see a female laying in the grass. She gasped and scolded her self for not looking around better. The someone next to her could have been mean and attacked and killed her in the time it took her to smell these flowers. She turned red and looked around and tried to scoot away from the female near her so that she could have her room...and so that Sita wouldn't be scared for her safety. She had met that one female...several weeks ago and she had wanted something from her. It was scary, she said something about 'playing with her'...and Sita didn't know what that meant but the look in her eyes as she had said it was scary. She slowly stood and tried to start walking away from the area so that she didn't let the female know she was there, not knowing she had been spotted already.

Nalani started whistling a more upbeat tune, her foot shaking in time with the beat. [[[X] she’s whistling the lyrics]] a few measures in, she could hear the grass crinkle away from her in the flower patch and she guessed the female was moving away. Cracking an eye open again, just to be sure, she turned her head again towards the redhead. She seemed to be edging away, glancing over in Nalani’s direction with a worried almost frightened expression. She stopped whistling abruptly, a frown creasing her face slightly. Honestly, am I that forbidding? She was just like Achilles, the bashful lunk. She smiled slightly; remembering that wasn’t all there was to Achilles. Well, she had wanted to try to get to know a few more people. Her ghost of an amused smile flitted across her face as she rolled over onto her side, looking over her orange tinted glasses at the skittish female [[ref if you need it]]. “Am I really that scary?” She called, mock indignation flavoring her voice. “Honestly, I’d wear nothing at all if it didn’t get people in such a fuss.” Grinning slightly to herself, she rolled over on her back again, hands behind her head. “As if there’s anything to be ashamed of in displaying oneself...” She muttered a loud, shaking her head slightly. Well, even if she still scared off the female, Nalani couldn’t deny that she was being herself.

Sita froze as she heard the female start talking to her. She looked back at the female as she still laid there. She frowned and stopped moving. "I-ts not y-your looks r-really...I've been p-picked on and a-act like this with e-everyone i meet...p-please don't be upset..." She stammered out as she sat down on her knees and played with her long hair. She glanced up at the female again and chewed on her lip. "I d-didn't mean to bother you..." she said as she looked at the ground again and waited for the female to say something to her...or attack... "My n-name is Sita...." She said softly wondering if it mattered to this female.

Nalani glanced over at the female again, Sita, eyebrows raised. Honestly, she was worse than Achilles, the timid thing. But Nalani could hear something deeper than just nervousness. Uncrossing her legs, Nalani rolled up to a sit, her ankles crossed and arms loosely around her knees. Gazing in Sita’s direction, Nalani sized up the skittish female. Poor thing seemed fairly distressed. Tilting her head to the side with a small sigh, she spoke again. “Come now dear, have you really done anything to bother me?” The Havana asked, looking at the redhead from over the top of her glasses with a look that clearly said Sita should think about what she’s saying. Softening slightly, Nalani continued. “My name is Nalani.” She said with her customary slight nod of her head. “I assure you that I am in no way upset, except perhaps a little perturbed that you have been picked on so much as to feel the need to behave so timidly.” Nalani got up and moved so that she was sitting a little closer to Sita, facing her on the gently sloping hill Nalani had been reclining on. “Please, sit with me. I promise I shall do you no harm.”

Sita blushed and lowered her head more. "I'm sorry. I d-didn't mean to upset you. I-i'm just used to doing s-something to upset s-someone when i d-didn't really do anything." she said softly as she glanced up as the female got closer to her. She scooted a little closer as well like she asked and scooted on to her butt off of her legs. "I didn't bother y-your rest in the grass?" she asked softly as she looked at her. She looked tough and mean, like she would eat Sita for dinner, but she seemed nice. "Do you l-live around here?" she asked softly trying to calm down and stop stuttering.

Nalani tilted her head to the side, more than a little exasperated, but not mad at the female in the slightest. “Come now, didn’t I just say that you didn’t upset me?” She smiled kindly at the redhead, eyes twinkling in amusement. “I’m just content with your company as with enjoying the day by myself, so please, don't worry about it.” The Havana brown inhaled calmly, looking up into the calm sky. “I’m a wanderer, actually. I enjoy all of nature, and it’s more interesting to roam around, anyways.” She thought about her old house, with the human. That part of her life seemed a bland stretch, days of the same routine stretching on and on. Nalani took off her orange glasses and folded them with one hand considering Sita thoughtfully. “And where do you live, dear?” She asked politely, tapping her folded glasses against her lips, like one would with a fan.

Sita smiled at her with a still worried expression. She looked back at the grass as she pulled some between her fingers. She glanced at the woman again and nodded. "I'm so-sorry. I just dont like feeling like i'm being a bot-bother." she said as she played with a flower and looked into the forest. "I'm i-in the tree house where Birman is the leader. I-I like it there quite a bit s-so far. I haven't met very many others t-there though." she said with a little blush as she put the flower in her curls and looked at Nalani. "Do you like to wander?" she asked managing a full sentence with no stutter.

Nalani smiled her ghost of a smile again, which always meant there was more going on in her head than what came out of her mouth. Of course there was always a lot going on in her head, but that was beside the point. “I find it to be quite enjoyable,” She said, smiling a little wider at the redhead. “But I admit I might have found a reason to stay in one place.” Nalani stretched out again, feeling to comfortable to sit up, and sprawled out on the hillside again. Who knows, maybe her calm attitude would ease the nerves of the other female. Then again, she did seem fairly worked up inside. “I don’t know very many people either.” The Havana commented to the sky, her hands behind her head again. “At least none that I know very well.” Not yet, anyways.
Looking over at Sita again, Nalani addressed the female. "So how long have you been in the tree house with... Birman, was it?"
