One minute I'm in Central Park Then I'm down on Delancey Street From the Bow'ry to St Marks There's a syncopated beat
Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo I'm streetwise I can improvise Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo I'm streetsmart I've got New York City heart
Why should I worry? Why should I care? I may not have a dime But I got street savoire faire Why should I worry? Why should I care? It's just bebopulation And I got street saviore faire
The rhythm of the city But once you get it down Then you can own this town You can wear the crown
Why should I worry? Why should I care? I may not have a dime But I got street savoire faire Why should I worry? Why should I care? It's just bebopulation And I got street saviore faire
Ev'rything goes Ev'rything fits They love me at the Chelsea They adore me at the Ritz
Why should I worry? Why should I care? And even when I cross that line I got street savoire faire
Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo

Out on his own again, save for his accomplice and life long friend Bapoto, Imadi was flying around looking for some way to have a sort of adventure for the day. His motto was to live life to the fullest, and seeing as his bird friend felt the same they found something new to try every day. Or they'd try to at least. The white and purple male held a care-free happy life and had no trouble offering to share it with others. Today his dark eyes were set on racing some wild critters. That wouldn't be fun on it's own though, no. He had to choose between something that might try to eat him or one that could fall on him. That just added to the adventure, and if he were to die, he'd go out happy and fully content with his life.
"Well my friend, we have a choice here. We can race cheetahs or elephants. What do you think would be more fun?" The bird tilted his head, thinking it over before smiling brightly. "Well why not race one, then the other? Go for the elephants now and do the cheetah's later in the day after we get some food?" Imadi patted his bird friend's head and nodded. "Great idea! Let's go hunt us down some elephants! Race ya!" With that he took off, soaring at a fast pace.

Ruwa spiraled in an air draft a few miles to the southwest of the male. She loved flying. Perhaps more than anything. She saw it as a privilege and a gift. The dragons were ground bound and she, well, she was not. Sometimes she wondered what it would be like to not have wings. Did you learn to love the ground as much as she herself loved the sky? Or did you wish to take wing like the colorful birds of the Island?
As she spiraled and made figure eights she caught sight of the other flier. It was leonine. She knew that because it was too big to be a bird. The thing next to it was a bird. Wonder what they're up to? Eh. Whatever. It has nothing to do with me. However... If it was a male then he might have promise.
It was recent but she'd suddenly become very lonely. It was like a great void was empty and the only thing she could place not having that would fill it would be a male. A mate. Perhaps, maybe, she should check it out. So she made the decision and angled her wings in that direction. Perhaps something good would come of it. Perhaps not.

Just as Imadi spotted a group of elephants something caught the corner of his eye. He rolled over so he was flying upside down, looking over to see what it was. With a slight grin he recognized it as a lioness flying toward him and his friend. Bapoto had landed on the male's stomach, looking up at her as well. Today was certainly getting exciting for the duo. Maybe they didn't need to race cheetahs later.
Once he'd collected his thoughts he pushed his bird friend off gently, knowing he'd probably get a peck on the head later. He did a roll and dove a few feet before rising again to meet her halfway. "Well hello there! I am Imadi and this is my good friend Bapoto. Who might you be?" He offered a sweet smile as he introduced them.

She halted and hovered before him, easily keep aloft and talking. She had been happy to see him coming to meet her and even happier that it was indeed a him. The bird stayed close and she wondered about their relationship. She'd never had something to follow her around like that.
"My name is Ruwa. I saw you and wondered, what are you up to?" And what of the bird. But she didn't add those words. Best not a appear rude at a first meeting.

His smile widened as she spoke. She seemed to be very nice, which made his day. As he hovered there with her his bird friend perched on his head, bowing it's little head in respect. He mimicked the bird and bowed his head as well, then reached up to rustle his feathers gently. "Lovely name you have there. Don't mind Bapoto there, he's a hopeless romantic." Bapoto let out a little squack and proceeded to peck him on the head. "Hey! That was a...compliment!"
Once he'd gotten Bapoto settled down on his shoulder he caught her eyes, his own seeming to smile at her. "Why, we were just looking to find a new adventure. We look for a new way to have ourselves some excitement everyday. Care to join us?"

If the bird is the romantic, what are you? She eyed him curiously his coloring was intrigue and so was he. "Thank you. I do like my name and joining you depends entirely on what you are doing." His smile was infectious and she found herself smiling back at him. He had a roguish charm. She wondered if he knew that.

"Well now that can change in an instant. We were going to race cheetahs and run alongside elephants. Although there is also high cliff diving, soaring above the clouds...the skies the limit if you pardon the pun." He motioned toward a small herd of elephants, then toward where the ocean would be a few miles away. "It's really just whatever comes to mind."

She cocked her head at him then as if he were daft. "Race Cheetahs? Wouldn't that be really, really dangerous? Are you crazy? Life is not about trying to kill ones self." Her eyes narrowed and then widened with an idea. "There is excitement in all things. Let me show you my world? I think you'll be surprised."

"My belief is if I die while doing something I love, I'll have passed on with a smile on my face." The way she looked at him not only didn't bother him, but he found it a little funny. "Oh really? Well I'm game for any form of excitement. Lead the way Ruwa." Smiles at her while making sure Bapoto was comfortable on his back, wondering when the little guy had fallen asleep.

She smiled in spite of herself when her accepted. "I'm taking you to my home. My little pocket of the world. It's beautiful there and it means the world to me. Follow me and try to keep." Immediately she threw herself into a spiral dive that that took off at least fifty feet off her altitude then leveled out and headed in what appeared to be a random direction as fast as her wings would carry her. For the life of her she couldn't understand what has possessed her to take him with her to her most private oasis. She usually guarded it like precious metal.

He chuckled, taking off after her, keeping up easily save for nearly knocking Bapoto off. He had no idea where she was taking him, but that in itself was a bit of an adventure. Different ideas of this beautiful place passed through his mind as he followed her carefully.

They flew like for about half and hour when she began to descend toward at medium sized-ish stand of tropical rain forest trees that stood close together. She didn't land but easily flew and wound her way through the trees. She'd contemplated landing to make it easier for him to follow but if he really was a daredevil then he really should be able to fly through and around the trees. With a final flap she landed on a branch that overlooked the clearing in the center of the stand. Before and around her stood trees that appeared to reach for the sky, cool churning water, teaming life and raucous beauty. Flowers bloomed on the ground and on the trees. Ferns and vines drooped and hung. Most beautiful was the waterfall, 20 feet high and throwing off glittering spray. In this light the spray threw off a beautiful rainbow. She grinned and hoped off the limb and glided toward her favorite sunning rock at the base of the fall.

He kept close behind her up until they reached the trees. When he saw her swerve and glide past and around them a grin spread across his maw. He tried to follow her at the same speed as before but ended up needing to slow down when he very nearly flew into a tree. By the time he perched on a branch next to hers he was covered in twigs and pine cones. He nearly spoke, but instead looked around the area, his eyes wide in astonishment. The flowers on the trees, the vines hanging down everywhere...this place seemed like a piece of heaven to him. The waterfall amazed him the most though because he adored water. When she flew down he followed, landing right next to the water where he dipped a paw in, purring happily. "...Amazing..."

With a chuckle she splayed out happily on her sunning rock and watched him. "Yes. It is amazing. I love it here. I sleep in a cave behind the fall. If you look close you'll see the path to get into it. Of course you can just fly in but then you get wet." She purred in pleasure as the rock warmed her just the way she liked it. "And you look at mess, surely if you can race cheetahs and elephants without getting hurt, you should have been able to get through those trees. And yet I'm the one who comes out unruffled and you look like you got stuck in a pricker bush."
