Human rights has reached new heights never before believed possible. Medical technology has advanced to where humans have genetically altered DNA in order to create hybrids.
These hybrids are unable to use human speech, or at least, that is the common belief; There are some who have the ability to learn, though they don't get much chance to. These hybrids can be found with any variety of animal physical trait: House-cat, dog, tiger, lion, wolf, horse, leopard, panther, you name it.
There are even those with bird-like traits, they are usually talented singers and kept as pets that are looked at but not touched. Pets are used for any number of things. They also come with many different personalities and likes/dislikes.
In a way, they are very similar to normal humans, but they are easily identified by the tail and ears, or in the case of bird-like pets, the wings. There are some who disagree with the idea of having hybrid 'pets', while others want to have large packs of them, go for exotic breeds, or keep only young and attractive ones.
The place you can get these hybrid creatures? Why, the famous petshops that you would have heard so much about. There are a number of petshops, those that specialize in exotics, those that sell only pedigrees, and those that carry all kinds(whether a thoroughbred or a mix). One such shop is known as "Yuuwaku no Kurai", a petshop that has been given the title of finest petshop in all of England, heck, all of Europe.
London is where 'Yuuwaku no Kurai' is located. It is also known as the 'Dark Temptations' Petshop. The owner is a kindly young-looking man, who is a bit strange and quite mysterious. He has a reputation, though, as a bit perverted.. The pets he sells are all beautiful and usually well-behaved, though with a few exceptions.
The shop is easily spotted amidst the surrounding buildings, as it has a traditional Japanese store feel to it. The room you enter as you pass the sliding doorway i wide and spacious, couches set in ordered disarray for the hybrids to sit upon as they wait for a human to buy them.
Two doors at the back lead to other rooms. The left door leads to where the hybrids sleep at night, also where more dangerous hybrids and younger hybrids are kept during the day. The youngest age a hybrid can be sold is at 15, but sometimes a younger one is sold. Urahara is one of the only two pet-shop owners that actually breeds and raises hybrids as well as sell them.
The other door leads to the upper and lower floors. Upstairs is his private living quarters, and downstairs is where he has medical equipment set up for checking up on the health of the hybrids he sells. I'm not going to go crazy with them, but I'm pretty sure most people get the picture by now. -I'm pretty lenient actually.. LITERACY
Literacy comes in many different forms and, obviously, styles, all of which depend on where you come from. But what I'm looking for in literacy is people who can spell and/or have proper grammar skill. This means that they use sentences that make sense, that aren't just a jumble of words, letters and symbols/numbers. I've been around Gaia for a while so I've noticed the trend of which serious roleplays are slowly overcome by illiteracy. But this doesn't mean that I'm going to go all psycho on you if you misspell a word, or don't have proper grammar. Not all of us have the option of an automatic spell-check so we have to rely on ourselves to catch ourselves. But this also means that if you go all text-talk in OOC, I'm not going to care. As long as you post literate and at least have the ability to talk literate once in a while then that's fine. I'm also aware that there are people who speak in first person, Omniscient and the other points of View, and I'm fine with them posting like that, but what I like to see when I'm role playing with someone is that they use Third-person POV. That means using He Said/She said. If you don't know what Third-person POV means, then you'd best leave now.
SENTENCES
1. What I want to see with sentences is that you at least make them pretty, but have them in a color that I don't have to highlight to read. Also, this also falls under the category of literacy. It means that your sentences have to make sense, in other words, what you write has to relate to what was given in the previous post, but you also have to add something of your own to it, otherwise I'm not going to have much to build on, now am I? Now another part that I want to see is the use of these: "[speaking]" and '[thinking]' or thinking. But that's not a solid rule there. But when speaking, quotations are a must. I sometimes have them thinking as if they were speaking, but without Italics or the use of quotation marks, but in order for it to make sense to the other person that they were thinking you'd have to put, [name] thought to [himself]. Also, if you wish to speak OOC, then please, use Brackets/Double brackets.
2. With the length of the sentences, I do tend to like long posts, but I won't mind if you give me a writer's block post once in a while. I've had people I've Rp'd with give me a WB {Writer's Block} post almost every time they responded to my post. But even with a WB post, I can still, sometimes, crank out at least one to two paragraphs and that's something that I expect in the least. That means at least four sentences minimum per paragraph. I don't care if it's longer, I really don't, just as long as I'm not given a WB post all the time. Sometimes I may seem to disappear for a bit mostly because I can't work through WB and so I leave them for a later date so that I may figure out what to post when I'm not thinking about it so much. I'm also a fan of having capital letters at the start of sentences and, of course, for names.
3. On a bit of a side note, I ask that you try and make your opening post as long as you can and make sure that your posts are pretty! It's a bit boring to read a black and white post. Please always have the character picture in your post.
PROFILES
1. I don't want you to edit the Profiles Skeletons in anyway, shape or form, They're not up there simply to take up space, they are, in a way, a bit of an application form and your ticket into this RP. If I find you Profile to be a little bit off, and I find out that you've altered it, then your profile will, of course, be rejected.
2. I know that if you sent in a profile, you're very eager for it to start, but I ask you to PLEASE, and politely, wait for your Profile to Appear amongst the others, OR, simply wait for me to send you an 'Acceptance PM'. That's your way of knowing that you're in and you're allowed to post.
CHARACTERS
1. If you've read the storyline then it is pretty much obvious that the races of the hybrids differ depending on the person, but that doesn't mean that there is a limit on the amount of species the hybrids can be, but please, be creative. There will be NO vampire, NO werewolves, or another Cliche races. Just make sure that you're creative when making them and you are unique with them as well.
2. The owners, on the other hand are simply human. Also, You can have only TWO Hybrids and TWO master's each, both must be male. I also don't care if you play a character that's not the same gender as you, in other words, I'm fine if you're a girl playing a guy, or even a guy playing a girl.
3. The characters you make, in their own right, are the main focal point of this, but I'm not discouraging the use of NPCs in order to make things interesting. They often help bring in the drama and add ideas and interesting effects that the other may build upon. BUT that does not mean that you have the right to kill off the characters, you can kill off as much NPCs as you want, I don't care.
4. Also, please note that if a bunch of the characters are gathered together, PLEASE make an effort to interact with them! Such as when they are in the Shop
NOTIFICATIONS
Alright, often times I've had roleplays go down the drain because, well, people have left suddenly without a word. The thing that I want to see come to light with this issue is that I'm at least notified WHY you're leaving, and WHY you're not posting. I also want to know WHERE and HOW LONG you're going to be if it's a planned absence. I've had people ignore the warning PMs I've sent them about not posting, and it's a shame most of the time because I've more then likely enjoyed RPing with them. So please, if you know why you're going away for a while, or if you were suddenly told you had to go somewhere, let me know, especially if it's more then three days. Thank you.
OTHER
This other information is just as crucial as the above information, please be careful to read it all.
1. I dislike instant romance, and this RP is no exception. The characters have, obviously, not known each other before, so the romances, the love and whatnot really needs to just build between them. I don't like uber sappy, uber happy, it-all-works-out-in-the-end-and-there's-no-drama kind of romance. Drama is a MUST for just about ANYTHING to work out.
2. Another issue I have to point out, is GODmoding. That means controlling other people's characters and making them say things that, obviously, they didn't. I'm not opposed to indirectly controlling the characters, as in, hearing them make a noise in surprise to something or just something to that extent. You can't move them into another area unless the person says that it's okay, you cannot make them say anything that was not meant to be said. I'm sure that most people who've done RPs before know how to NOT Godmode.
3. One thing that I will not put up with, in here or wherever the posting will be done, is harassment. Now, I don't care if your character is harassing another person, simply for the benefit of them having something to do, or something that's just in their personality, but I will NOT tolerate any kind of harassment out-of-character. This will get you reported.
4. Also, I don't wish to see spam in here. I know we all like to bump either for the sole purpose of it, or just to make sure that our thread get's noticed, and I'm fine with that, but this is just not the kind of thread that it's for. But the posting of random things; pictures, profanity, and other things that do not belong in the Barton Town forums will not be tolerated. Advertising will also not be tolerated and will be considered SPAM. But if it's in your signature, then I have no control over that now do I?
5. Since this is a yaoi RP, I know that there are going to be people who obviously object to this kind of thing. But I don't want to hear it. Flames and their Flamers will not be tolerated and will be reported as harassment of others. If you have a problem with this, then deal with it. No one wants to hear you complain about it.
6. Another thing that I've noticed is the general lack and disregard of Gaia's TOS. I'm sure that we can all find a loophole in it, such as going to PMS when it gets too hot and steamy between your characters. Even though I'm asking you to keep it PG-16 in here, I'm still wanting you to follow gaia's general TOS. This includes asking people to cyber with them, especially if you're not even in the roleplay to begin with.
7. PLEASE, I'm saying PLEASE, make sure that you spell the character/character's name(s) right. I'm getting fed up with people misspelling it, especially when I make sure to put in in my post either up at the top as a bit of decoration to my post, or simply when I'm role playing as them. It's honestly not that hard to simply scroll down to the bottom of the page, or quote the person's posts to find out the character(s) name(s).
8. Speaking of quotes, I'm getting just a tad bit tired of People quoting each other's posts. I'm fine with it if it's been awhile and it's a few pages back and you've forgotten to 'undo' the quote, but I don't like to see it every time you post. It eats up space in here.
9. Now, the last and final part of this. It's a precaution to make sure that people have read the rules down to the very last part. DO NOT post your profiles, You PM them Make sure that you have ninja Up at the top of the PM And make sure it's titled "Yume Kurai". Make sure you highlight this otherwise I’m not going to accept anything you send me.

Black: Very Defiant, does not trust easily, can be quite dangerous under the circumstances
Red: Very independent, rarely does what they are told, very flirtatious.
Green: Meek, submissive and very obedient, also slightly clumsy
Pink: Very quite, very very meek, will ALWAYs do what's asked of her.
Orange: Is rather lazy and can be rather disloyal
Yellow: Very Kind, Very obedient
Blue: Very Tame, very maid-like, mostly used for housekeeping
Purple: Used as an Entertainer at parties and is generally very playful
Gray: Very innocent, frersh to the slave trade and needs to be handled gently.
Dark Red: Untamed, Disobedient, and generally is shackled.
Indigo: Meek, but non-submissive. Generally does what she wants, but, on a whim will do what is told to do.
Sky Blue: Always seems to have their head in the clouds. A slight space-case, but is very happy-go-lucky. Always eager to please whatever owner they might have.

Dark Magenta: Very feisty and very free spirited, doesn't like to be controlled very much.
Lime Green: Very outdoorsy, very much a nature lover, has been born/raised in the wild.
Gold: Very outgoing. Much like an althlete, loves sports.

Urahara started preparations for the opening of his shop that morning. He checked that the seats for the hybrids to sit on in the front were comfortable, and placed in a way that allowed customers to move around and for both hybrid and humans to make it to the door once a hybrid is bought.
Done, he moves to the left door and enters the hallway with a number of doors. Going through the rooms, he picks out the hybrids that will go to the front on display for potential customers. Mostly he was selling felines today, it seemed. but he also brought out a few canine and reptile hybrids.
His smile was in place and hidden by a fan that was ever present on his person. His wooden sandal's clacked against the floors as he walked. Leading the hybrids to the front and gesturing for them to sit down wherever, Urahara moved to the front door and flicked on the neon 'open' sign. It was a subdued-looking day, all gray clouds and mostly hidden sunlight.
I feel it everyday it's all the same

+ Over and over, over and over. You make me fall for you +  Yuu yawned as Urahara began gathering others to place up front. He followed them to the front and plopped himself down near the front of the shop. He quickly curled up in the large plush couch and drifted off slightly.
Yuu has been in the shop for as long as he can remember, though that isn't saying much, since he can't remember anything beyond waking up in Urahara's underground clinic. His memory completely wiped clean. He'd been injured, so they assumed it had been a reaction to a severe beating.
The fact he'd had a plain dog collar on indicated an owner, but upon searching, it was found that the owner had died. It had been an elderly couple, and they both seemed to have died in a robbery of their home.~+~ Over and over, over and over. You don't even try to. ~+~

Speaking words of wisdom...  Chris stretched his tall, slender body as he awoke from a fairly good night's sleep. He greeted the shopkeeper kindly as he came to lead him out to the showing room, and calmly walked took a seat on the clean, plush couch. He sat with his legs crossed, quietly observing all in the room as his fluffy white tail swished behind him.Let it be.

 I’ll Be just Fine, Pretending I’m not… Reno was sitting in a cage that had been personally made for him due to his fiesty attitude and how no master could break him. He had tried to escape before as well, but it hadnt turned out well. He let out a small yawn playing with the pair of cuffs that where put on him. He started biting them as if attempting to get the cuffs off that way but it was no use.
He looked up, hoping that a master would find an interest in him so that he could trick them and escape once again. …I’m far from Lonely and that’s all that I’ve got

 The stars lean down to kiss you...Aki sat in a small playpen that had been got for him with three little cute puppies that had been given to him by an ex-master he had in the past who had lost a lot of his money and had to return him to the pet shop, he had given them to him to show the small boy that he cared about him and that it wasnt his choice to have had to give him back to the shop.
He giggled softly playing with the small cute puppies who were really affectionate towards the small neko boy....and I lie awake and miss you
