It was sun rise. Besides sun set it was one of Sweetpea's favorite times of the day. He'd snuck off early in the morning and would be back before his mother awoke later on, pretend to sleep, and wake when she nudged him. Anything else and she'd lose her mind, she was like that. Sweet smiled that the memory of when he'd first wandered off. Scarlet had turned the whole place upside down and when he finally arrived back she was still freaking out. She saw him and poured all sorts of affections and worries upon him. Of course, later on she reprimended him for making her worry so. He chuckled to himself.
He had tried to explain it to her, but she didn't understand. True, she enjoyed watching the sun rise and set, but Sweetpea saw a whole nother beauty in the act. The sun gave all life it's vitality. It made the grass green, it warmed the waters, it lit the way. It was, in every essence, the very nexus of the whole world. It was like it was coming back to life again when it rose, and dying when it set. There was a whole meloncholy reverence to be held at the sight of such an awesome act.
