A shaggy maned red lion walked along the borders of his pride's lands, the midday sun was high and warmed his back as he walked. He felt quite certain he wasn't going to find anyone new, since joining and becoming a guard he hadn't run into anyone that wasn't already a member or well on their way to becoming one. He knew that lions were joining all of the time, but he hadn't personally brought anyone to meet the ruler.
Aten's life was an easy one, he watched the borders for anyone that might cause trouble or needed help during the day and at night was transfixed on the ocean and the waves. The waves had healed the red lion, who spent most of his youth looking to belong or losing the ones that he thought he was truly in love with.
Aten scented the salty air for any sign of other creatures as he looked out beyond the border of the ocean pride for a sign of life.

Mo'onasi's tail twitched. Hm. She hadn't wandered around alone for quite a while, but decided that the time was right. She was safe, as well as she could ever be, and healthy as well. Hopefully no more random attacks that would freak her out again. It had been a long, long time, but still, it was hard to forget certain things.
The beach seemed like a good idea, and taking the long way sounded even better. It was much easier for her to stretch her wings than her legs, and so walking was the way to go today. She hummed herself a little tune, content with her slow pace and cheerful mood. It was a good day today.

It was hard to catch the scent of much of anything that wasn't the salt of the ocean and Aten wasn't fairing too well in picking up the scent of someone that was approaching.
"What's that noise?" He asked aloud, talking to himself was a favorite pass time while patrolling. The red lion paused in his patrolling to listen and then started to head in the direction of the tune.
He stopped again as he approached the lioness, or at least what he thought was a lioness, it had wings.
"Hello!" He called, "You're heading toward the Bahari'moto lands."

Momo's wings fluttered on her sides as her stomache lurched. She hadn't been paying enough attention, and somone had spotter he before she had noticed them. Not really what she was wanting, but she should have been paying a little more attention to him in the meantime.
"Um, hello," she called out, hoping that everything was all well. Life felt a lot more...open and vulnerable than when she was within her home of the Mizuka'nyevu.
"The Baharhi lands...the ocean pride!" she exclaimed. She had heard about it from passing mortals a while ago, and pleased to hear it was still alive and well. "Am I not to venture past?" she asked. Yes, she could just skirt right be him to see the ocean, but formalities were a must, and Momo respected all mortals and their lands.

He approached her slowly, she might be a threat, a threat to my home.
"Yes, the ocean pride," he nodded a bit dumbly looking at her wings, "You are a god, aren't you?" He recalled someone had met a lion with wings, but couldn't remember the name of the lion.
"We are a peaceful pride..as long as you're not here to cause any trouble, I wouldn't see why not. Are you hear for a reason? Or passing through?" Aten probably wasn't the best ambassador to be approaching new potential members or rogues, but he was fiercely loyal to his pride, physically large and muscular - able to protect them in case of an emergency.

She giggled slightly, as the idea of some still asking what she was amused her. Not in a bad way, ever. Momo adored mortals, thought they were the cutest things. She couldn't help herself.
"Yes, I am. Mo'onasi is my name," she replied, rustling her wings along her back. She stifled another giggle, though she knew that others could interpret her 'intent' differently. Love was a sweet thing, but it was an easy origin to jealousy, and that always caused trouble.
Still...
"I'm peaceful indeed, as Love's true meaning is," she commented. "I just wanted to see the ocean, call it an urge, a whim."

Aten's demeanor relaxed, she seemed peaceful enough, and although people could lie, he felt she wasn't a threat.
"I can understand being pulled here, I was pulled quite awhile ago and couldn't leave," the red lion smiled thinking of the ocean fondly, "Would you like an escort to the water?" It was a polite way of keeping an eye on the stranger, at least he saw it as such.
"I don't know so much about love's true meaning, to be quite honest," he laughed now, "All that I have loved have left, or stopped responding..even..even when I thought it was true love." he laughed.
"Oh, but you don't want to hear about my lost love."

Momo was quite pleased with how polite he was. Flattered, even! She would have been fine on her own, but it was always nice to have company, and she always adored mingling with mortals. They were (usually) so adorable. "I would love to have an escort!" She slipped to his side, waiting for him to give the initial move before walking with him to the beach.
She was quiet for a moment. She wasn't always the most helpful with peole in their love life, mainly because she was always worried about butting in where she might not be wanted. Still, she didn't want someone to just toss away the joys of what love could bring forever.
"No, I would be happy to listen," she smiled, trying to encourage him to speak freely.

Aten nodded and started to walk toward the water in the distance happy to be doing his job for once rather than standing around waiting.
"My love story is a pretty short one, I came her with two lovely lionesses, the one that I cared for was wonderful, and it seemed to be going well, but I believe I was the one to mess that one up..I just didn't know how to be a good partner. She and the other lioness left, last I heard they'd created their own life and Oasis, she has cubs." he paused looking over at Mo'onasi, "Then..well there is a princess here, Miani, things were going fantastic but we stopped seeing one another, there was a lot of spark there, like your entire soul is on fire spark..but..she just stopped being there. So that's about it, I don't know too much about any truth of love or how love is supposed to go." He babbled his little monologue and felt sure he was boring her to tears, all the same it felt good to tell someone that wasn't involved, everyone here knew Miani.
"I.." Aten closed his mouth, he felt he made a fool of himself by saying things the way he did. "Sorry, it's impolite to babble so."

Momo listened intently, as it wasn't the best story she had heard. She felt a little sad for him, but sometimes things just weren't meant to be. That usually meant that they weren't....
"There are lots of possibilities there," Momo said carefully, not wanting to harm his heart anymore than it had already become. "Though I believe there is always a soulmate for each one in the world." It was always nice, thinking that way. It helped that she was pretty good at guiding ones to their soul's partner, too.
"That first lioness might not have been her," she pondered. "Still sometimes a spark needs a little more nurturing before it becomes a full fire. There'll be a little missteps here and there, but perhaps just a little guidance is all you need to get your fire going."

"I hope that you are right and that there is a soulmate for everyone," Aten spoke agreeably. He liked the goddess, Mo'onasi, her voice was pleasant and to his ears she didn't appear to be judging him based on any of his statements.
"Getting the fire started," he repeated, "I like the sound of that. Just doesn't seem like I'll ever be able to find the right person to feed that fire." What a poor sport he was being about the matter, and she was only looking to see the ocean. They were coming up on the water, the shore was in perfect view and the sounds of the waves were becoming louder.

She breathed in a lungfull of that salty air. It was such a treat, a difference from the norm in the secretive jungle she usually resided in. Speaking to Aten reminded her that she needed to get out more; there were those that needed her, even if all they needed was a little nudge.
She pondered for a moment; she didn't necessarily want to use her power without asking. But one such as him, with so much doubt carried in his chest, might still turn her away. The urge to help overpowered her urge to be 'right', and so she closed her eyes for a moment. She felt a bit of her power slip away, guiding it towards him and telling it what to do.
She opened her eyes, hoping that it wasn't apparent what she had just done. She didn't commonly use her powers as it was. "I know I'm right," she giggled lightly, albeit belatedly. "You just have to put your trust in your feet. They'll guide you to her!" she bursted with a wink.
((I know you're going to be gone, but please PM me when you tag this! thanks. <33))
