Reed had decided to take a short walk for no particular reason really than something told him to walk. He saw her then, out of the corner of his eye. A pink fuzz, but enough to get his attention and make him turn.
She was sitting there, staring off into space. It didn't appear like she was looking at anything really, her eyes were glazed or appeared to be. She was beautiful thought. The pink of her coat reminded him of sunsets, bright and clear and the heart on her cheek did nothing but extenuate her pretty muzzle. She stirred him, just looking at her. He didn't question why, many things in life didn't seem to grab his full attention but she did. Though, for the life of him, he couldn't figure out why there was a slight downturn to her mouth. She was to cute to frown.
He made a decision, right then and there. He'd make her smile. Somehow. Perhaps more would come if he was patient. There was only her in that moment.
He walked towards her then, making sure to angle his way forward so she could see him, if she was paying any attention. He didn't want to frighten her. No, he wanted to comfort. It was strange really, he'd never wanted to before. He stopped at few feet from her, judging that it would be a safe distance and sat. "Hello pretty lady. Why do you look so sad? The day is beautiful and alive and your beautiful too."

Lola continued to simply gaze off into space, her two children had grown and left, Well there wasn't much point keeping them with her after all, she was simply just another dragon in the world. Why should she care after all, everyone would leave eventually. there was hardly a flicker of acknowledgment as Reed approached.
For a brightly colored lioness, the air she gave off was quite gloomy. She finally acknowledged him after he spoke. Flattery, honestly she'd heard it all before. "What about the brightness of the day brings you to flatter a dragoness who clearly could care less?" there was no glimmer of life in her eyes as she spoke only a deep hurt hinted itself there.
Maybe if she dissapeared from this world she'd feel better...

Reed was taken aback for several seconds. Her cutting remark and dead air where more of a surprise than it should have been. He knew she was sad but perhaps deeply wounded was a better term. That and he had not thought of what he said as flattery, merely the truth.
"I do not flatter miss. I speak only the truth. Do you not see the bee buzzing in the flower a few feet from you? There is life in him and the flower, indeed all around you. In you too. And you are as beautiful as a the majestic pink streaks in the sunset. That is no less than absolutely true." He stopped talking then, to ponder her. He wondered at her past. What or who had the the far off look in her eyes. "What troubles you? Will you tell me? I will listen." He waited a minuet and then said. "If you won't tell me, then I'd like you to come with me. I'd like to show you something."

"Then speak truth to another who cares to listen." her remark cut through the air like a dagger. Lola stood and turned away She'd take her gloomy atmosphere somewhere else away from this male who was intent to charm her like her former mate. he charmed her and left her. This one would be no different. Though what had happened in her past had torn her heart into many pieces and though it had healed some blood still poured from the wound.
"Leave me." she said as she began to walk away. The Gloom around her followed like a dark cloud.

He sighed lightly when she got up to walk away. You know this wold be easier if you actually left her alone Rowan, he though to himself with an inner grimace. "I cannot. I feel like you need me. I therefore cannot make myself leave your presence." He got up to follow her. "I'm not going to force you, but I will ask you again. Please follow me. I want to show you something that could change how you feel forever. And no, it's not me."

Lola paused, She needed him? He'd just met her. How could she possibly need him. Regardless she still stopped and turned around, slowly walking back. There was a little voice inside telling her to simply just dissapear and everything would work out. yet she still came back.
"Show me then." she said simply.

He grinned when she turned. Apparently she wasn't completely lost. "This way then. It's not far. Just try to keep your mind, heart and eyes open." Quietly he began to lead her upward on a rocky path.

Lola followed quietly not saying a word, did he seriously think a simple landscape would cure her? How dumb was this guy. This wasn't going to help at all. The gloomy atmosphere seemed to increase exponentially behind him as Lola continued to walk.

They reached the top of a cliff that looked over the Tiansha Valley. Before them was a spring that seemed to up and out of nowhere. A shallow pool formed around in then headed down off the cliff in a misty fall. Lush trees and flowers grew around the pond. The place smelled sweet and heavy and it practically buzzed with life. Birds crooned in the trees, bees buzzed sleepily, a huge lizard sunned itself on a branch, you couldn't see but you could smell a sloth nearby, a deer drank from the pool, and other critters fed and played and walked nearby. And the sun, oh the sun, seemed to make the place sparkle. It was an oasis. All few by a bubbling spring. "I wanted you to sit in the pool and breath in the world around you. Really breath, smell, remember. Then open your eyes and really look, look at the tress, the water, the view over the cliff. And then open your ears, really hear and listen. And then I want you to tell me what you feel." He walked over to the pool and laid down at the edge, putting his head on his paws to wait for her to do as he asked.

What the? Where the hell did that come from. Lola was amazed he empty eyes widened. She couldn't figure out now. It was like suddenly there. HOW? It was physically impossible. would she fall through if she did as he asked, he could stand there well enough but could he make it so she'd fall? What was his game? Almost cautiously she took a step forward. She couldn't trust him he was like all the rest. She halted in front of the spring...
She'd fall she knew she would. Then again she could dissapear that way. Lola took a step forward she felt it sold under her paw. It was REALLY there. Lola couldn't believe it. Lola slipped into the spring. Rather skeptically. This wouldn't work. She was sure.

He knew she was skeptically so he sought to assure and make her feel better about what he asked. "Good. The water won't kill you. It's warm really and shallow. The pool hardly moves...just don't go too far down that stream that leads to the waterfall. It gets deeper and the current will take you with it." He turned his head to look towards the edge and grinned. "I know you wonder why I ask this of you and it's because I feel you've lost touch with what life really is. I don't know what happened but I think that if you realize you're part of the life teaming around you, it will help. I find, when I feel life has lost it's meaning, if I stop and really look there's always something there to live for. I would like you try to see what I see. For no real reason than you need to live again. Really live."

"It's not the water I'm worried about..." she eyed him carefully. Honestly what was his game? what magic did he posses to levitate things or create illusions. Lola slipped into the water and sure enough she didn't fall through. Then this was an illusion on the top of a cliff, it had to be... Lola listened for a moment before contemplating.
"Regardless there is nothing to live for." she replied coldly. It was true, she had no reason

He sighed heavily at her, what he asked was not difficult. But he decided to use the last weapon in his arsenal. He got up to a sitting position and looked her directly in the eyes. "If I told you I feel in love with you the moment I saw you and would do anything to make you a part of my life, would that change your mind? If I told you that I don't care about the past or why you carry about a black cloud. That I'll do whatever it takes, save pushing you, to bring you back to life again. Anything to be near you, anything for your happiness." He breathed once then continued. "I've never felt this way about anyone and you rebuff me? As if I'm out to hurt you? You do nothing but hurt me. I'm not a bully, I merely seek to help you. Let me help you." On instinct he reached forward to lick her muzzle. "Please trust me?" A part of him didn't know where all that had come from but he did not question it's truth. He knew that was how he felt deep down and would stand by it.
