Kit hummed happily to herself as she continued to straighten up the mess she called home. The weather was perfect for a visit. It was a stready 80 outside with a light cloud cover. There was a light breeze and the stream outside her kitchen window was as clear and as perfect as ever.
Earlier she had picked some passion fruits from her back yard as well as some small bananas and a coconut or two. Having an abundance of fruit all year round was one of the many things she enjoyed living here in Maui. She was lucky enough to get a place in the Iao Valley. Beautiful and green, away from the busy streets of down town and it was always warm, even with the continual fog or cloud cover.
She wiped her hands on the towel she had wrapped around her waist and started to sweep the front porch. It had been a long time since she had any visitors...

"Man, Maui's kinda different from Oahu, ne?" A distant voice points out, as a somewhat... odd family comes walking around. The one talking turns out to be the teenage mother, Yuumei chatting away with her two daughters. "It's so pretty, don't you think Rei?"
The dark angel beside her sighed, obviously distracted. "Yes, mom.. it is..." She tried to shake aside the thoughts of Onuris from her head, and the odd sense she felt... like a new... something was near... or someone?
"Right, Hinote?" Rei then questioned.
The little one in Yuu's arms smiles and claps her hands. The day was quite enjoyable so far--after all, the family got time to relax for once and get away from troubles. Yuumei, who was raised mostly on Oahu, always loved Hawaii and missed it dearly. However, she never ventured into the neighbor islands which was almost like a whole new world.
One thing was the same though, wherever Yuumei went somewhere...
"... Mom?" "Yeah?" "Where are we?" ".... uh...."
She had no sense of direction.
Thank goodness they saw someone! Perhaps they could find that answer.
"Um, hello!" Yuu greeted the stranger. "Um, would you know where... exactly we are?" sweatdrop

Kit smiled when she saw the small family.
"Well hello there! I have been expecting you!" she motioned for the family to come closer. She then pointed to the sky and giggled.
"The weather never fails to tell me when I am going to have company... you just have to learn how to read it right! Wont you please come in?" she opened the door and smiled sweetly. "It's not often I get visitors... and you are in the Iao Valley. It's rather... seccluded here... I wouldn't be surprised if you had lost your way... I already have some fresh fruit sitting out and other things of the sort. Do come in and make yourself at home!"

Expecting us? Yuu was about to say to thanks until she heard "fresh fruit". 'Food? I haven't eaten since breakfast!' she thought to herself. 'She seems friendly... Then again, people here usually are.'
With great gratitude they came in, but Rei still couldn't get over the odd feeling she had. Something about the lady... Then again, the feeling wasn't a bad thing.

She lead them to the kitchen and offered them all a seat. The window were wide open so you could hear the stream outside. After she served up the fruit along with some drinks she tied up her pink hair and leaned against the counter, she looked to be only about 23 or so.
"Well as I have gotten good at reading the weather around here, I dont know why you are here. Were you on your way somewheres else? Or were you just exploring?" she smiled again and took a sip of water. "Oh and so you know, it's not magic, hahaha. Reading the weather I mean... most people who live on this island long enough begin to have their own superstitions and connections with it" she shrugged, "it doesn't work all the time, but it's nice to have something to look forward to"

"Oh, we were just exploring the island, Miss...?" Yuu's voice trailed off as she answered the kind stranger. "You have a very nice place here, by the way." She smiled warmly as she sipped a drink and ate a nice, ripe orange.

She blinked a moment "Oh! Kit! My name is Kit! Actaully, it's Kitreyana, but everyone just calls me Kit." She smiled widely again "And thank you! I try. It's pretty self containing here I guess... water with the stream and all the rain we get here, great place to grow things in the back yard...so... what has brought you out this way again? Are you from this island or a neighboring one?"

"Miss Kit... Kit-san!" Yuumei repeated, to make sure she remembered. Though, she was always better with faces than names... but no matter. She looked down at little Hinote, tickling her. "Can you say 'hi' to Ms. Kit?"
The baby giggled and waved her little chubby hands at the nice lady. The place was so nice and colorful! It was so nice to let them come in!
Rei then answered Kit, "Oh, my mother has lived on Oahu before. She wanted to bring the family to some of the neighboring islands, seeing how she never got to visit them before." She grinned, and she gestered to shake hands. "Please forgive us for not introducing ourselves. I'm Rei. The little one is Hinote--"
"And I'm Yuumei. It's a pleasure to meet you!"

Kit nodded and smiled back at Hinote "Hello there, little one!" The child was absolutely adorable. She blinked and thought a moment before moving to the living room and coming back with a pink and white plumeria blossom and giving it to Hinote. "There you go sweety!"
She then smiled at Rei and took her hand as it was offered. "Well it is nice to come to the different islands from time to time. I myself have only been to one other island... Oahu actaully, hahah. Lovely place you have there. The north side of the island is definately the more... secluded side. And you have less of a desert feeling there. It's a lot greener. "
She smiled again and motioned for them to follow her. "Come out back with me. I have to take care of some plants, and Im sure you would like it back there" She opened the door that revealed a small path that lead into the dense forest behind her house. "Actaully... most of the plants that need tending to are just along the back of the house here... but I would love if you would take a walk for me along the stream and into the forest!"

"Say hi, Hinote!" Yuu encouraged. Hinote looked at Kit curiously. Who was this nice new lady? She waved her little hand at her, smiling her sweet little smile. THen, the lady was going away. Hmm? Why was she leaving? Where was she--Oh! The little baby's eyes widened at the sight of the pretty plumeria; her hands reaching out for it. Hinote grinned as she put it up to her little nose to smell its sweet fragrance. Oooooooh. Now that smelled good. She babbled her way of saying "thank you!" and fiddled around with the blossom.
Rei chuckled at her baby sister, remembering Shina when she was reborn... Such innocence.
Yuu nodded at what Kit mentioned--about Oahu. "Oh yes, that's true. Although it seems like Each island would pretty much be the same, there are some things that you can only see on a certain island that can't be found anywhere else. Maui has been such a delight to visit so far!"
They all nodded to Kit's offer, and all got up to follow her.

Kit lead them out to the backyard and started watering the plants along side the house with a hose. She held her hair back with one hand and smiled as she turned to look at the three behind her.
"Rei, you dont seem to be from around here! Where are you from, sweety?"

"Well..." Rei smiled innocently, "I don't think you'd believe me if I tell you, Kit-san. But um... I can tell you this much... I'm no ordinary angel, really." She chuckled.

Nodding she stood back up from her plants and looked back over to Rei. "You are very gorgeous and very plesant!" she looked over you Yuu, "you must be very proud of her!" She wiped her hands on her aipron and motioned for them to follow her along the path. "I hope you all aren't in a hurry! It's such a beautiful day out that I figured I would visit the forest today!"

Rei blushed at the compliment, while Yuu grinned proudly. They didn't have to speak to express how they felt.
As the forest was mentioned, Yuu remembered something. "Oh! The forest! I heard about a little Hawaiian legend that had to do with the forests. The menehune!" she followed eagerly as she asked, "Do you know how that legend goes?"
As they talk however, Rei senses something once more... menehune? She could sense a faint spirit somewhere...

She nodded as she picked a hibiscus for the baby. "Mmhmm... Menehune are small little sprite like creatures that are helpful to the people of Hawaii, but are also mischevious. They are the the equivilant to the european imps or elves. They are known to be tiny little things, but they can also take on forms of animals or humans. Some have even been known to fall in love with a human from time to time." Stopping a moment she looked around "I fully believe that it is them that keep Hawaii beautiful... never seen one tho"
