Dark maroon eyes, squinting from the bright sunlight, cast longing gazes at the terrain in front of them. A soft sigh, and a flutter of skirts, were the only noises Aerin made when she sat. How she hoped she didn't get her dress filthly. Her mother had taught her from a very young age that presence is everything. So much for that.
The scene in front of her was confusing. She had no clue where she was or why she was here. Letting out another sigh she laid her weary body down. The heat was horrible! She was in some kind of desert or something... the ground was rough, too rough for her han-... or right. She had done something stupid to put her in this position, in this form. She was beast. Making a displeased noise, Aerin rolled to her side, a paw falling over her face as if she were placing the back of her hand to her forehead.
Casting another longing glance at her surroundings and wishing she were back home, Aerin closed her eyes. This place was aweful and she wasn't human any more, that was the worst part.

Imriel had wandered away from his foster parents, feeling the urge to be alone overcoming him earlier that morning. Phedre and Joscelin were wonderful people, but he needed to find his way. Alone. On his own terms.
And wandering the drier parts of the land was pleasing to him. Empty and dry, but there was something about it that drew him towards it. The rough land on his paws and the sparse grass weren't particularly lovely to look at, but he wasn't looking for beauty. Rather an empty space was all the shirted lion wanted. A quiet place to just... think. Something both is foster parents were well acquainted with.
But while beauty was not what Imriel had in mind, it seemed he was going to get it anyway. His blue eyes focused on a green-dressed lioness not far off from his current course. She seemed... sad. And of course his up-bringing by Joscelin and Phedre kicked in.
Trotting over towards the lioness, his steps soft on the hard ground, he paused a few feet from her. Head tilted, he finally spoke up. "Something wrong, miss?" he inquired, genuinely concerned.

Her mind was frying under this heat, every part of her was frying under this heat. A crease in her brow showed her frustration at not having a clue what to do, but she couldn't focus on anything at the moment. She would have gladly taken a nap on her daybed in such heat...
Aerin was rather caught off gaurd when the male approached her. Her mind had been wandering to cool things such as someone fanning her, or a cool glass of water or even the shade of a building. She was enver to see a building again, that was obvious.
She squeaked when he spoke suddenly, at least it was sudden to her. She shot up, dust clinging to every bit of dress that had been touching the ground. She was just about to say something but she about fell over, having been light-headed from rising so quickly in combination with the heat. She caught herself and took a deep breath. Raising her eyes slowly she took in his presence. He was definitely male... but he was a beast too?
"I haven't the faintest idea if something is wrong or not..." She spoke slowly, lightly. Closing her eyes she took in another breath. His presence was in an odd way comforting.

Imriel couldn't help but chuckle at the poor lioness. "I'm sorry to have startled you," he apologized, sitting where he was. He didn't want to scare her anymore than she already was.
"Really now? You could have fooled me with your earlier expression..." he replied off-handedly, giving her a bit of a smirk. "But we got off on the wrong paw. I'm Imriel." As he introduced himself, he gave her a bit of a bow from where he was sitting, curly hair falling in front of his face.

Taking a moment to dust off her drest as best she could with her paw, Aerin sat straighter and smiled when he bowed. She sure wasn't expecting this kind of courtesy and these manners from this place. Her smile stayed in place as she bobbed her head in acknowledgement. "Imriel..." She said to herself, as if she were rolling a fine wine around in her mouth. "I am very please to have had you stubble upon me, my name is Aerin."
She let her eyes wander for a moment, let questions tumble in her head, but after a few moments she looked back to him. "You could say something is wrong... but I..." With a rather heavy sigh her shoulders slumped. "I have no clue where I am... that probably the biggest thing on my mind." She wasn't about to admit to a stranger, a rather handsome stranger, all her problems.

"It's my pleasure, Aerin," Imriel said smoothly. He'd had enough court manners drilled into him, even if he hadn't liked this lioness, he could appear sincere. But it wasn't the case. She was interesting, cute even in her stubborn way.
He raised a fine eyebrow at Aerin's pause, as if amused by her attempt at finding the right words to say. "Well, you're in the Pride Lands. Not perhaps the most safest place, but it has many good lions that like to meet newcomers," Imriel answered, watching her carefully. She wasn't telling him everything, he could tell that much. So he'd have to pry. Stealthily of course.
"Perhaps I could assist you in finding your way back to wherever you're from? I'm not particularly busy at the moment..." When was he ever nowadays? Lounging around, watching Phedre and Joscelin exchange discreet smiles and looks, enough to make his eyes roll on more than one occasion.

"The Pride Lands?" ... So that's where she sent me.... She rose, her skirts falling about her feet. Turning her head around she took in her surroundings. "All of this?" She said with a surpised tone, and startled look as she turned back to Imriel. "Why, all I see is dust! And some trees! Are there no buildings? There must be more like us? Right?" When she asked about other 'like them' she meant others that were clothed. She had no idea that there were true killing for blood lions out there. Along with other species.
Sighing lighty she shook her head. "I fear Imriel, it is impossible for me to get back where I was... I know I'm not from the Pride Lands..." Hanging her head for a moment she closed her eyes. This was her own punishment, she would have to bare with it. Raising her head, she tried to be strong. "I have no where to be returned to, which is the next thing on my mind... I must say I'll be frightened when the night comes...."

He couldn't help but chuckle at Aerin's exclamation. "There's more you can't see. But most is savanna, dust. No buildings, we don't need any," Imriel explained, taking a few steps toward her. "There are other lions such as us. But we live among the non-clothed lions." There were far more non-clothes lions than ones that were. Imriel personally didn't make the distinction, not consciously at least.
Imriel's expression softened at her words, her physical dejection. "There's no need to be frightened. I can show you the good parts of the Pride Lands. And perhaps a family will take you under their paw." There were many kind lions in the Pride Lands, but there were also many cruel ones. And sometimes the distinction was very blurry. "There's also my family, if you can put up with me."
