watashi wa gaia de compyuta o sumasu.

translation:i play gaia on the computer.

the verb suru(sumasu is the positive form) means to do and is used for any activity

example: watashi wa tenisu o sumasen

that means i dont play tennis.

suru is an irregular verb (often classified as a Class 3 verb along with kuru, to come). so it doesn't conjugate like a u-verb or ru-verb.

suru = plain affirmative form (or dictionary form)
shimasu = polite affirmative form (-masu form)
shinai = plain negative
shimasen = polite negative

austin is right, you can pair suru with many nouns and essectially make it a verb all it's own. The nouns can be foreign loanwords (like jogingu=jogging, tenisu=tennis) or kanji compounds that do not have corresponding verbs (benkyou=study)

kyou, watashi wa jogingu o shimasu (I will jog today)
watashi wa tenisu o shimasen (I don't play tennis)

in your first sentance, you've switched your particle, and are saying "By means of gaia, I play computer" I think what you're looking for is

watashi wa conpyuutaa de gaia o shimasu (I play gaia on the computer, more literally: by means of the computer, I do/play gaia)

Also, if the sentance already has a direct object in it (before you combine a noun with 'suru') then you dont use the 'o' inbetween the noun and suru.

For example:

Watashi wa benkyou o shimasu. I will study.

Watashi wa nihongo o benkyou shimasu. I will study Japanese.

You never* use 'o' in a sentance twice so you would NOT say: watashi wa nihongo o benkyou o shimasu.

* Never say never! The exception is if you are making a compound sentance where you are using a sentance with 'o' in it as a clause/inbedded sentance, but that is more advanced.
