For once, in this god aweful season they called winter it was bright and sunny...the snow had melted to allow some spots of patient spring grass waiting for its time...yet this day would not last. Thus, far from the shop's sight he sat like a statue in one of these patches of bliss, his paws jammed into the cold earth as his moss seemed to glisten under the welcoming warm sun.

The mushrooms on his back told him stories of their experiences through their connection, and often the fox couldn't help himself as he let out a chuckle as he basked.

"I agree, my friends. It has been far too long since we enjoyed life like this..." He sighed out, closing his eyes peacefully as he imagined all the snow was long gone and the birds would sing their beautiful melodies.

Indeed it was a spectacular day. Very much contrary to what had been the norm as of late with nipping winds, and fickle snow flurries. It didn't come to bother the female painted in soft kisses of sunlight, as she found that all seasons were truly magical in their own way. Taking to watching the outdoors from within the confinements of the shop, she could be found curled up snuggy near a large window reveiling the vast outside. But today she chose to venture outside. For it was, as stated earier, a spectacular day.
The warmth wasn't completly satisfying, but it was present. And so she roosted upon a thicket of greening grasses. They were immature and soft, but her delicate form didn't seem to bother them at all. Simply layed them down as she herself neatly rested her little body upon them. Wrapping her tail around herself, her head held up high, she surveyed her surroundings. Even on a day such as today, it seemed no one was enjoying it but her...
And a familliar Earthy fox.
Watching him in his ritual like state, she smiled softly.
Curiousity piqued at how he was fairing in such conditions, for he seemed more that grateful for this change of pace.
She was not sure if she should approach him in his nirvana, for he was simply a few yards from her, and a bit to the right.
Would she be an intrusion to his basking?

Indeed Trovalius would have spent the entire day blissfully basking in the sun had he the clance...but such things cannot last forever. Nightfall would approach, bringing on the freeze of the night...to which he'd have to retreat back indoors. Yet it seemed something had other plans as he could feel the pulsations in the ground...someone was near.

The mushrooms seemed to beam in excitement in his mind, their chirping perked his ears as his head rose from where it lay to look about the clearing. Only upon looking behind him did he spot a familliar yellow femme. Wasn't that the medicinal herbalist?

Drat...what was her name? Lilly? Lilac? Leyla!

"Leyla?" Trovalius' vocals called out, tilting his head a little while keeping his paws firmly in the ground. He was sure no one else would be out here...yet here she was, the one who seemed to be full of surprises.

"What are you doing out here?"

Long elegant ears perking as she saw the males mouth move and his voice reach her, she smiled more. That seemed like an invitation to come over to her. And so, she rose to her little paws, stretched her feathery wings and fluttered over to him. Landing gracefully a few feet infront of him, she padded the rest of the way, her wings starting to fold against her back.
"Well hello, Trovalius." she gave a little bow to him, her brilliant blue eyes fluttering once.
Only smiling more at his question, she tilted her head, peering to the sky, "It is nice out today. Not too cold for the wings." a light giggle escapes her mouth as she switches the fold of her wings.

Trovalius didn't make a move aside from following her with his eyes as she gracefully glided over to him; landing before him and bowed of all the silly little things to do. He huffed, but it seemed to have lost all its bite now that he was outdoors again. "Please, don't embarass yourself by bowing, a degrading act unless its to a god." He pulled a paw out of the dirt and motioned for her to stand tall.
Eyes like mountian water bends and carves mountians, not to be bowing to anyone... He thought to himself, but looked up as she mentioned the weather.

"Well of course, or else I wouldn't be out here. I mean why are you out here alone...there's no outcast or a whatever you called it corner." Trovalius shook his head, certianly there must be a deeper reason...but maybe she did just want to enjoy the sun and happened upon him.

Furrowing his brow as one could have sworn one of the mushrooms twitched, he grumbled something inaudiable below his breath about nosey fungi. "Have you practiced your herbalism, since you were rusty or something...?

Her smile not faultering from his attitude, she rose up.
"It's simply the way I greet another. Don't think you're an exception." she teases; something rare from her. Studying his current position, paws dug into the ground, it made her think of the thick roots that grew from the mighty tree's she grew up in. A softens seemed to tenderize on her face for a moment as a memory surfaced.

Her eyes gazed off as a breeze tickled by, lifting parts of her fur. Moving her head along with it slowly, she seemed to be in a trance for a moment until it had faded. Looking back to her comrad she responded, "I am typically alone. Since I do not have many ally's or friend's here." It didn't really bother her. She had always kept to herself. Only going out of her way if her services were in need. Though she was a kind fox, she did not want to enter into someone's life where she was not wanted.
"Plus. The noise is suffocating inside. I miss the tranquility and serne pulse of the outdoors." her ears layed back in a laxed manner.
"..and I missed the air.." an outloud thought muttered from her.

Coming back to Earth, she looked at him with a bit of suprise. He'd actually remembered something about her? With that, a small smile couldn't help but creep back on her face. "Why.. in fact I have. I actually recently used it to aid a wounded Goddess."

Trovalius' brows knitted together, he didn't care if it was a greeting. "Then make one. I will not have a fellow child of the natural mother bowing to me; the mountians bow to no one...you should be the same." It was plain that he had no use for formalities in his hermit like lifestyle...the trees could not bend their trunks; the river would not shake your paw. As he listened and watched with a bit of awe that she seemed to be the only fox he'd seen thus far with such an appreciation of nature; the demon actually was polite and did not say a word till she was finished.

She didn't have friends here? It was a bit hard to fathom, she seemed like one who would get attention; what was it...a social personality? It was something he lacked, if he ever had one in the first place. "Their loss." Trovalius snorted in disgust, it was why he hated mingling within the walls of the shop. The noise, and stuffy air, and of course the smell of death to make all their 'comforts'.

"Have you, now?" A very slight smirk tugged at his lips as he removed the three remaining paws from the dirt and gently returned the disturbed soil to fill the holes. "I knew you wern't rusty...its something you never really forget even when its not practiced daily."

Trovalius' rich earthy orbs trailed to the forest, bare as the trees still had a ways to go before they would bud with a season's new offpring of leaves. He wouldn't have to come back to this wretched place till next winter; but even then it seemed he'd aquired some residence in a house's botanical garden on the lakeshore...so he figured he would make camp there for the next winter's freeze.

The especially 'talkative' shroom on his shoulder seemed to make a comment in his mind that she looked like the goddess; but Trovalius sent a glare in its direction. Sometimes, just rarely...he wished he wasn't so 'attune' with nature.

A little smile of understanding formed, "As you wish." there was no need to anger someone with something that theydidn't like. And so she filed away in her mind that she was not to bow in greeting this fello.
Sitting back on her haunches, she placed her little front paws neatly infront of her as her tail curled around her delicately.

Chuckling lightly at his "compliment", she shook her head, "It's alright. I don't mind so much. I wouldn't want to be a bother to anyone unless they were in need of my services." not having friends never really seemed to bother her. Being a traveling nanny, she often had to leave those whom she'd grown close to. But all things had to end in time.

Taking to thought his observation, she nodded, "I suppose you're right. But it wasn't much of a big deal. Simply a scar curing ointment that I proscribed and provided. A simple ailment to concoct." she giggled. "One of the first lessons when learning to become an herbalist. A basic skill."

Her own eyes traveled to his as if to read their thoughts. As she stayed silent while he seemed to soak in the surroundings. She took the opportunity to also inspect his build; mostly the vegetation that grew from him. The cute little cherubic mushrooms that had taken nesting to his moss looked so full of life. Another smile peeled on her face as she thought of them as his children. She made sure to turn her head slightly so he would not see, in fear that he may think she was laughing at him.

Folding his ears along the sides of his skull as they twitched lightly, he tried to rid the little voice that was probably just in his head; but perhaps if one would listen close enough...they too could hear the constant nagging. Not that anyone would probably openly want to listen like Trovalius; but the poor demon had no choice or say in the matter.

Trovalius....Trooooooovalius! The little shroom's spirit cried out, obviously intent to let itself be heard. You should invite her back to the garden, she'd like the herbs you grow. She hasn't even run away yet or has been deterred by your social disabilities... If he didn't have a heart, he would have eaten the little fungus a looong time ago.

"I....see." The demon said, his voice trailing as if he was distracted which was exactly the case with the chatter in his ears. Perhaps without thinking, he continued on. "You're not a bother to me..." Yet nearly instantly after it left his mouth he caught what he'd said and looked away. "I-I mean...its not like I know you well enough to be annoying yet."

Smooooth. The three chimed in as he let out a long, drawn out sigh.

"I'm not good with words or beating around the proverbial bush...I have a garden; it has local and exotic herbs if you're interested. I can sense the snow will be returning later on so thats where i'm going...can't be caught outside." As stubborn as the demon was, he wasn't stupid. The moss was moist on his bad, and would freeze too quickly for him to get anywhere safe. Thus, Trovalius was always aware, always one step ahead.

Looking the male with a small smile, she felt a bit of gratitude. She hadn't really done anything to aid him yet he still accepted her presence. Though he had a rather gruff style, Leyla still enjoyed his company. He wasn't loud or obnoxious, and his nature didn't seem aggressive. Perhaps it was because he was maybe an older fox like her. Any matter, it was nice.

Rising to her paws, arching her back to stretch, nad leaning forward to stretch her pack legs and wings, her eyes slowly lit at his offer.
"I would love to see it." She had always wanted to grow an herb garden, but she never knew how to properly grow them. It was a secret emberresment of hers, but she didn't let it pester her too much.

Remaining quiet as she seemed to mull over it, or take in his words...he did catch the light as it entered into her eyes at his offer. Best not dwell on it too much, or he could become like one of those irritable foxes back at the shop.

"Good...this way." Trovalius often opted to walk everywhere, since the moss had taken home on his back. He'd given up his gift of flight, as far as he knew. Only ever had he used his wings to glide in an emergency but he was too nervous to take to the skies. His pace was not fast, nor slow...but it held a pace of purpose.

See? Was that sooooo haaarrrdddd? His little shoulder pal piped up, as Trovalius' cold glare was sent ahead of him. Shut up, fungi. He thought back, before looking behind him to see if Leyla was following him. "It is not far...I was offered shelter at a chef's house; and there was a botanical garden for me to stay at. Since then, it has thrived....its pretty amazing what you can grow in there." As much as it wasn't natural...even Trovalius had to admit it was mind boggling how a simple room could do that.

Silence. Normally it was welcome to him since he lived his life in...well, mostly quiet...but with company other than his mushrooms it felt strange and uneasy. "Other than basking, did you have other plans?"

Delicately placing her paws as she followed him, her wings clung to her back again for warmth and security. Stepping so that she could walk beside him, she listened intently. Her eyes would gaze around the two of them as they walked; taking in the minute changes that were starting to show. Little buds were begining to peep at the tips of tree branches. The grass was slowly starting to saturate from it's resting brown state. And a few, just a few, birds were starting to pipe up to the coming of the new climate. Yet it was soon to return to it's usual ways within the day, and all of this would once again go into a deep slumber.
"That sounds quite lovely. It must be calming and comfortable." She imagined what it must be like according to what she'd already seen from one before.

Soon her eyes drifted down to her paws; watching as they made small little indents into the soft ground.
"I was pondering the idea of curling up by the large fireplace. If it wasn't too crowded." Smiles kindly, "I enjoy the heat warming up my fur."

"I try..." Trovalius admitted as he kept walking at his brisk pace, limbs gracefully moving along the path as he kept the ride for the moss as smooth as could be. While the roots had tangled well enough into his fur to keep a tight hold he'd never put himself in a situation to really jerk and pull at the fungi; fearing it would fall. "I'm not fond of the pumps which bring the water for the miniature falls and pond in, but there would be no other way to have a continuous fresh supply....so its almost all organic." If it was for the best of the plants, he would resort to using tools to help him like the pump.

Inwardly the demon gave a bit of a shudder, the fire....he loathed such a thing in such an unnatural state but he dare not insult the likings of his companion. "I see...." He breathed and looked up, spotting the house through the distant trees. "I'd much rather go visit the hotsprings, the moss seems to take to the natural minerals in the water better."

Her tone took a playful tune to it, "Not fond of the industrial age either, hm?" she eyes him; watching his behaviour. She too hadn't cared to much for the new age uses of things. Growing up in a quiet countryside, with only the bare minimum, she came to love simplicity. "Wells are more charming, I must say. Though their popularity seems to be decreasing as the years go by." calmly swaying her tail behind her, the angelic wings on her back ruffled as another shy breeze tumbled by.

Looking up as well, she gazed upon the housing ahead of them. A bit of nervousness started to gnaw at her, but she didn't show it. Not being used to living indoors still, she always became weary and nervous in new buildings of any sort. It had even taken awhile for her to adjust to her newest home. Until the spring came, she would just have to deal with the encagings. "I have never been to a hot spring before." her voice feathered, as she was more nervous in this new residence than the conversation.

"It is a wretched age with nothing more that barely a handful of useful inventions pertaining to aiding the environment...yet by no means can make up for the amount destroyed. The days of living off the land and being content in life is well over, perhaps only a handful of souls like us still connected so deeply to the Earth Mother..." They were a dying breed, Trovalius and Leyla were, and it saddened the demon greatly to see his brethren mind washed by the newest craze, the next must have.

As the pair approached the house, the male nudged her shoulder with his nose and motioned with a wing around the house. "The greenhouse is around back, semi detached from the house." No way would he travel through the halls if he could help it; thus there was an outdoor entrance and a indoor one. Continuing with his lead he ventured around the building till they reached the clear extension, and the door leading in. Nosing it open, he held it open for Leyla as the moist and otherwise tropic air flowed out into the chilled world outside; leading into a rather large area with paths of pebble and soil; butterflies fluttering overhead and the gentle sounds of the water deeper into the garden. "Come now...can't let the butterflies escape at this time of year."
