Elayeth leaned over and bared his teeth at the hand held mirror... "Greepeseed." He said without ceasing his tooth inspection. He wedged a fingernail inbetween his two front teeth and sucked in air apreciatively when the grape seed popped out from between said teeth.

"That's what I get for stealing grapes while I'm still in the store. Not that it's a bad thing." He reassured himself in the mirror, "everyone eats a grape or two in the store before buying them. It's just how it's done." Of course they usually eat more than one or two, and they usually planned on purchasing the rest. "He shrugged at himself. "OH! By the way. You're still looking good. Good good good good." He placed the mirror back down on the shelf with a grin and started off down the isle. He couldn't really remember what it was he had been sent to the store for, but it couldn't have been anything important... his family still didn't know that he had gone fourther, and they didn't usually ask the four legged family members to bring back breakable items. He had only come to get out of the house and away from Alexander.

After wandering down the canned goods isle, and then the booze isle, he decided that he needed more grapes before trying to figure out why he was even here in the first place. Little did he know, that he wouldn't get much further than the produce isle...

As he turned the corner he saw a jivviness. Sleek Black hair, dark satiny ears, pretty face.... perky figure. He made an hourglass motion with his hands and closed one eye as if he were sighting down a gun barrel and then moved in for the 'kill'.

"You're a jivvin." He spoke as he strode up to her, staying enough distance away from her so as to not scare her. "I'm a jivvin. Elayeth... have we met? I'm not sure that we have.... " He smiled a little as if unsure as to whether or not he should say what he was about to say... "I think I'd remember you..."

Lucky for Elayeth, Stazja had not been in the produce aisle during his grape theft and consequential narcissism. Instead, she had been watching an unrestrained child throw a snotty tantrum over dinky plastic toy its mother refused to purchase. She then, after sufficiently scowling at the little varmint, Stazja wondered why a grocery store even sold such cheap, plastic toys.

Hopefully, the child would choke on said cheap, plastic parts before the day completed itself.

While she appraised the freshness of a mango, she had yet to notice that Elayeth was currently doing the same thing to her. Her ear cocked slightly as she placed several mangos and a pomegranate in their own plastic bags, hearing his approach before his redundant statement.

If he had meant to impress her with his skills of obvious identification, his mission had been failed. "Yes, I am a jivvin," she agreed blandly, not bothering to give him a second glance. "And no, we have not met. Do you want a medal?"

Swishing her tail as she set the fruit in the basket, Stazja stepped her way over to the display of tomatoes.

"No." He said it matter of factly and just smiled at her non-threateningly. "I've just... honestly... never seen a jivvin like you before. You're so dark and exotic, beautifully proportioned, well dressed... you're also missing," he tapped his horn, "this, which I've always thought marred the beauty of the face... And... " He grinned slyly... "You look to me as if you could kick my a** and mop the floor with my ears if you wanted..." He laughed...

"And you can't understand how much all of that intrigues me." He held his hands out to either side, almost helplessly. "You're like no other jivvin woman I've ever seen... and you're goregeous."

His charm projected on her as she examined a selection of vine ripened tomatoes, and as she covertly sampled a grape tomato, as well. She caught the motion he made that indicated his horn, and she paused, disguising it as consideration for the fruit's flavor.

Her ears tilted back at the sound of his laughter, as if the noise invaded the cloud of grumpiness and depression that her mother's incident had rained down upon her life. It hurt and felt soothing at the same time, like cleaning the dirt out of sparring wounds. Necessary, but annoying.

So, against her best judgment, Stazja turned around to peek at the array of peppers, giving him a once over in the meantime. "I do believe that a jivvin tail would a better mop make, and ears better handles." She countered, moving her tail in a graceful, sweeping motion as if to exemplify her argument.

There was a long pause as she picked out a few jalapeno peppers and placed them in yet another bag. "Thank you for the compliment," she finally said, voice strained as if she were fighting an internal battle. In the end, manners had apparently won out.

He bowed slightly, never taking his eyes off her, and refrained from daring her to mop the floor with him. His need to be touched in any way by this encahnting woman was going to have to be played out slowly, so he didn't come across as a sleezebag... which he was really.

He looked over the tomatoes that she had looked over, as if her interest in them made them all the more interesting to him. He had watched her war with some kind of emotion, but wasn't sure what... you didn't become a good womanizer without being able to tell what a girl was thinking... but this girl was closed off.

"Forgive me, but... are you alright? You seem troubled?" He thought about offering to carry her groceries for her, but figured that didn't play well with her being able to kick his a**, so he discarded that idea quickly. "I'm not trying to pry, I hardly know you... but something seems to be bothering you... Boyfriend troubles? I could take you to dinner and solve that issue... family problems? I could be a good listener? A shoulder to cry on, a body to hug... or beat up, whatever floats your exotic boat." His brain spun out of control at that point... thinking of all the exotic places a boat could go, and what two people might be able to do in a boat.... but all he let play across his face was an honest smile. Fueled by the sheer pleasure of being around a woman.

Troubled? As if possible, Stazja closed off even more to this stranger. The poor word choice, in her mind, seemed to make light of her mother's situation. Not that he would know anything about that, but still.

As he continued speaking, she found herself amused at the lengths at which he was going in order to get her attention. She wondered if Dari acted like this to get the copious amounts of women, or if this Elayeth guy was for real.

Skepticism won out, and she turned around and attempted to cross her arms over her chest whilst giving him a contemptuous look. Unfortunately, the basket hanging on her arm foiled her plan, and she instead appeared slightly strained due to the awkward angle and weight of the object. Finally, the stubborn teen went ahead and set the basket down. "What do you want?" The jivviness asked bluntly, raising her eyebrow as she put her hands on her hips.

Needless to say, Stazja considered herself to be a private person.

"You."

There was no mockery in his voice, no smile, no games... he was just being honest. "Of course I want you to want me too, but that may be too much to ask at this point." He sighed and leaned back into a produce bin, his arms crossed for a moment before he started using them in geustures to emphasize his point.

"I've already told you that I think you're goregeous. You seemed to believe me, because you thanked me for it. Then you went all quiet and crossed your arms, and glared at me, which only makes you all the more pretty by the way, and this is where we find ourselves now." He shrugged. "It's a short but strange courtship we have so far...." Then he leaned in almost confidentially, hald expecting her to clock him on the nose...

"See... a moment ago I wondered if I should offer to hold your basket for you, but I didn't. Not because I didn't want to be charitable, but rather because I didn't want you to think that I thought you couldn't carry it by yourself." He nodded and smiled. "See? Complicated."

"Long answer short." He stood, tall and clean, and offered her his hand. "I just want to get to know you. Be around you. I don't want to hurt you or take anything from you, I just want to be near you.... and I'll hold that basket if you want a store 'puppy' at your command."

His answer startled her, and for a moment, the jivviness didn't know how to take such a direct exclamation. Though she tried to scrutinze his tone and thus, his intent, it alluded her. At least, it did for the moment.

"You are bold," she finally stated, not indicating which of his points she was referring to with her statement. Possibly everything. "Did you stop to think that all such aforementioned situations which would cause a person to be troubled would be too private to discuss with a stranger?" She paused, cocking her head ever so slightly to the side. "How many females has this dog and pony show worked on so far?"

Stazja kept her amusement hidden. After all, she wouldn't want him to know that she was actually starting to have fun while being near him.

He laughed. "Honestly? It never works... but like I said, jivvin girls aren't like you." He was standing in front of her, not entirely facing her, but still looking at her. She had his full attention. "And if it's too private, then don't talk about it. It's not like you know me all that well... but why not take comfort from someone who has nothing but comfort to give? Use me, leave me, love me, beat me... " He shook his head side to side dramatically at each phrasing. "It's all the same to me, because it means that you'll be near." He grinned again. "Course, if you're giving me a choice, then I prefer to be loved... it's so much more fun for everyone involved."

He stared at her for a second and then crossed his arms. "Five." then he uncrossed his arms and shrugged. "But only three of them are jivvin women and they don't like me very much.... I'm too Opylyn for them apparently."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 21, 2010 10:56 pm

"No they aren't," she confirmed, watching him curiously, raising an eyebrow as he continued. This time, she couldn't help but smile. "You offer such endearing options. I mean... I dream every day for a male to request to be beaten, abused, and left, while offering nothing but comfort..." The teenager pretended to be positively blown away by the idea of it all.

The fact that he was an Olplyn didn't surprise her, but it did intrigue her. After all, the only other Olplyn that she knew other than herself was Jatin, and she figured that there was more to him than he let on.

Absently, she stepped forward, closing the space between them while keeping enough distance as to not touch him. "Shame. And what does 'too Olplyn' mean, exactly?" She watched him expectantly, though she had a pretty good idea of what 'too Olplyn' might mean. "I wonder if it'll apply to me too." Highly doubtful.

"Oh, I'm sure you could explain as well as I could." He winked at her. "Too self contained, secretive, quiet, sneaky... that kind of thing. I'm sure it makes me a better secret keeper though, and certainly a better lover." He held his hands out to either side again , palms up, and shrugged.

"I think you'll find that I, like you, am not like other jivvins... not that many anyway. There's a fair few Olplyn like me, but I tend to embody the rank traits.... except the part about us not being nice." He smiled theatrically. "I'm very nice."
PostPosted: Sat Jan 23, 2010 12:20 pm

She almost asked him how those traits lead to him being a good lover, but that would feel like playing into a trap, even with the aid of sarcasm. This Olplyn did not play into such things.

"Too full of yourself, as well." A sharp step backwards was followed by her leaning down to scoop up her basket of groceries once more. "It matters not that you act your rank, but rather how you act in respect to those around you. I've known of Afya's fighting for their opinion to be heard and for others with a fierceness like a Sargtlin, and a Daewl to become emotional and break down into a violent madness." She paused, considering whether she should continue. "Out here, in the crowds of cities chock full of racial diversity, it doesn't matter if you embody your rank traits. Hell, it doesn't matter if you're even a jivvin."

Realizing that she quickly was becoming heated on the subject, Stazja shut her mouth abruptly and took another step backwards. This had turned into a too serious conversation too fast. Her gaze shifted to examine the contents of her grocery list, which she had quietly slipped out of her pocket to give herself a distraction as she mulled things over.

Finally, Stazja turned her attention back to Elayeth. Maybe a little teenage recklessness was in order. "Alright... Prove to me that you're not just a womanizing jackass, and I'll let you take me to dinner."

"Well, one could consider me a womanizer, though I still remain friends with all my past girlfriends, I've never dated anyone for less than two months, and they all still consider me a friend, even though they've moved on to bigger and better things. It's very difficult to prove to you right here and now that I'm not a womanizer, because you don't know me and you don't know if I'm lying... which I'm not. I do have the fact that I'm not promising you the world, working on my side." He nodded. "If I were just trying to get into your pants, then I'd be telling you whatever I think you wanted to hear just to use you and go about my merry way.... I'm not. I'm genuinely interested in you. In what you have to say, and what you have to give."

"As for me being a jerk" He shrugged. "Enh. Some people think I am, because, yes, I am a little full of myself, and yes, I do come across as snobby." He leaned back against the produce bin again to give her her space. "You'll just have to hang out with me more to find out if that's true... though to be honest, the last person to call me a Jerk was someone running from the cops." He let his vision fade off slightly as if he were remembering the moment... and then snapped back to her with a smile.

"Anyway... let me cap it all by saying, that dinner is all I want. I want to go to dinner with you and buy you something from the candy store, give you whatever comforts you want and then send you home to your family with a lighter heart." He crossed his arms. "Really, you've got nothing to lose, and you can bring someone along with you if you like."
PostPosted: Sat Jan 23, 2010 1:15 pm

She listened to him, watching his body language while he spoke. He didn't seem to be lying, and his mention of running from the cops intrigued her.

"Dinner it is then," Stazja responded, turning and heading towards the check out lanes. A glance back signaled that she wanted him to follow. "I think I'll be able to handle you myself, however." Besides, who wants to take a baby sitter out to dinner?

He laughed at that, as he fell in obediently behind her to accompany her shopping. "That wouldn't be the best option for a date, but I'd do it if I had to." He walked along calmly behind her for a moment before adding, almost as an afterthought, "Besides, we've already establshed the fact that you can 'handle' me. You said so yourself when you said my ears would make a good hanle... "

"So what kind of food do you eat anyway? Where am I taking you?"
