He'd asked for a little time, he'd had to. If his brothers didn't already know then it was his task to tell them. He was still reeling from the news himself, honestly. How could he be gone just like that...?

The god slowly brought himself to a standstill, sitting down. He had no real clue how to get a hold of his brothers, so he'd just have to hope they might be close enough by. It was day three of his search and even he was getting tired.

Unlike Rio, Silos was feeling pretty good about himself, and the world around. He wasn't too sure what it was he had going with Roko (he hadn't stopped to really put a name on it - names and tags were scary), but he rather liked it.

She had left to do her own business, and now he was back to wandering the land once more. They'd meet up soon enough, he was sure of it, but for now, well, duty called. There was that familiar pull that made him wander in a particular direction, but whatever it was he was expecting to find... Rio had not been at the top of his probable list, "Oi!" he called out to the familiar shape, quickening his pace into a trot as he came to his brother's side, "Oh, gosh, you look all gloom and doom. What the hell happened to you? An eagle overtook you mid flight or something?"

In Silos' defense... he had no idea what was haunting Rio and well, this was his own special way of trying to cheer the other god up.

Well, looks like someone was on his side today. It was more than just needing to tell them, after coming to the haven faced with THAT news now he felt like he needed to confirm that his other littermates were still alive and breathing, too! Silos looked as upbeat as ever, but what else could you expect of Youth? Not that Rio was usually broody, he and Silos were really very, very similar.

"Silos!"

His voice carried relief, but as the other diety landed close Rio flinched, face falling. He wasn't sure how Silos would take the news, he still wasn't sure how HE should. It was a bit of mixed feeling.

"Somethings happened."

He'd sat himself down beside his brother, humming a little tune to himself as he lifted a paw up to groom it; he'd rarely tried to groom, but maybe it had it cons too and-

Silos' attention snapped right back to Rio as he voiced his name. Something about the way he'd said it made him blink, stopping mid-lick to look at him. Well, something seemed to be the matter allright, "Rio?" he lowered his paw and looked warily about, shifting his weight from foot to foot. He wasn't really used to feeling nervous or unhappy, but life had taught him that if his brother Rio got serious, it was time to get bloody well serious.

Silos didn't like 'serious'. It usually meant something bad was going to happen. Or had happened, apparently, "What... happened?" he was almost afraid to ask.

"It's Malik." No point in beating around the bush. Rio shook his head, gritting his teeth. It wouldn't be SO bad if he was coming back, but he had moved on to the resting place for MORTAL souls, which meant he'd never be reborn. It was a kind thing he'd done for the female that had taken his place, but-- "He's gone, Silos. He gave up his immortality to a mortal, and passed on to their side."

His wings tucked tighter and tighter against his side until he could feel their pressure, needing some type of grounding, ironically enough. He still had to tell Silos that there were messages for each of them, that dork... he knew that they'd be upset by this, but he had at least given final goodbies. It just didn't dull the pain much.

Malik? What was wrong with their brother?

Nothing usually managed to keep his attention for long, and yet Silos was doing a rather amazing job at keeping his eyes trained on Rio, waiting for the verdict. When it came however, it was clear that out of the things he had been expecting to be told, this one had not been it, "I... you, what?" he paused and made a mental skid, his happiness gone, having bubbled down, replaced by something he couldn't really name.

Numbness.

"What do you mean he's gone? What do you mean he-" a pause in his words, "How... what? Why'd he do that?" why would anyone ever do that? Granted, he knew that it happened - hell, he wasn't even sure if he himself was the original god of his domain. After all, he couldn't remember all his past lives. As far as he was concerned, he could have been mortal long back and he just didn't know it, "How'd that happened? What made him decide such a thing?" another pause, his ears flopping back; at times he felt like the little brother, even if they'd all been born at the same time, "Why didn't he come talk to us?"

"I don't know why he didn't, I've been asking myself the same thing for a while now, but whatever the reason... it was his choice." No mortal, let alone a spirit, a ghost, could force a god to trade their immortality unless the god willed it, that much he understood as clearly as Silos did. "The female that took his place, she had messages for each of us from him, though..."

He moved closer to butt his head gently against Silos, trying to be comforting, keep him from dazing out in shock.

"I'm trying to find all the others so they can speak with her too..." He added quietly, sadly.

His ears flopped back again, sadness invading her momentarily. It was true; he knew that no power on earth aside Mkodi maybe, could force a god to give up his or her domain. As such, it stood to reason that their brother gave his up willingly. Still, he was confused beyond all reason and had so many questions that he didn't even know where to start.

It was his next words that perked up his attention, "Messages? For each of us?" he felt Rio butt his head gently against his, and in a way, it helped shake him out of whatever daze he'd been in, "I haven't seen Age in... ages," it was ironic, really, "But I think our other brother is up north. I don't know why, I just get that impression. Maybe I'm wrong. I've been a bit caught up with... stuff."

After a pause, he looked up at Rio - funny that he still looked up to him, even despite the fact they'd always been around the same height, "Does that mean I should go seek her out?"

"I would, Silos, the last time I saw her she was still in the mountain haven. She's still learning how to fly yet." Which might well be why he was compelled to visit there, now that he thought about it. "I can come with you, then we can look for the others together if you want. I only need to tell Hamsa first." His friend, who he was head over heels for and couldn't even find the guts to say so yet.

A pause followed, "I... we... would you mind another 'passenger' on board for the trip? I can't leave Roko behind," he looked awkwardly embarrased, but after all, they'd only just been reunited after her huge crusade to learn to combine her two personalities. It seemed wrong to leave the goddess behind, "Can we go find Roko first? Then we can go to the Haven... and after that, well, I'm sure 3 pairs of eyes are better than two. We'll find our brothers and pass on the message."

It was clear that yes, he wanted Rio with him; he wasn't sure he could face the new goddess just yet without a shoulder to lean on. Too many memories that were threatening to haunt him, "We can tell Hamsa - and I... don't mind her coming."

Hamsa, however, was probably nothing like Roko. Silos had felt horribly worried leaving her on her own, what with her strange, almost childish personality and the fact she didn't quite control her own powers.

It was a good idea. Rio nodded, though he didn't miss his brother's reaction, and couldn't help quirking an eyebrow at the "younger" (Pun intended) god with the tiniest of grins. "Found yourself a girlfriend, hermano...?" He asked softly, gentle given the topic at hand, but no matter how sad they were over the loss, brothers were still brothers, and it was his job to tease him, to keep up with what was going on in their lives once in a while at least. "In that case, I should just see if Hamsa will come with us, like you said. If three sets of eyes are better, then so are four." And he had a feeling she'd want to know.

"Uhhhhhhh...." he spread his lithe wings and avoided the question by jumping up, "I'll tell you about it later, let's go find Roko. The sooner we get this over with, the sooner we can look for our other brothers," it was clear however, that he was horribly embarrassed, given the fact he hadn't sorted out WHAT he and Roko were. At least not yet. Good grief, it was like the world was conspiring against him, making him have to take decision at high speed!

"I bet'cha I'll get there faster than you anyhow!" because competition was a good way to take dreary business out of his mind.

"Hey! You DID, didn't you?" Rio couldn't help but laugh, stepping back and with a powerful backstroke of his wings was airborne after his brother, catching up. "You can't beat me in a race, bro, you should know that by now!" He grinned as they came almost level. There was the pain, still, of course, but they'd get through it, that's why they had each other.
