A simple apartment with a Living room, Bathroom, Bedroom, Kitchen and den. Unremarkable, not counting the couple that call it home.

Wenda leaned against the island counter, flipper in hand, eyes trained on the stove, vigilant about not burning breakfast. A sigh left her as she huddled in her housecoat, blinking the sleep out of her eyes. Feeding had become a difficult task for her so S' nutrition had become one of her top priorities, even if he thought she was being silly. Her growing hunger was going to become a problem soon, and even though he could satisfy her for a while, she was hungry again before he was ready to give more blood.
The radio played through the top music charts, a welcome break from the news of the past few days. So much was changing so quickly, it was unbelievable. A thought hovered in the back of her mind, one that had been there ever since the situation had begun. While the legal state of Vampires was being debated... could she take back ownership of her things? Get her inheritance back, see her parents, her sister again? Would she be able to build a bridge between her old life and her new one, or was it better that she hide away from who she used to be, forever?

The smell of burning meat brought her back from her reverie, "No!" she gasped, quickly flipping the ham in the pan. Only a little burnt...

A soft chuckle came from behind her as arms wrapped around her waist. "A long way until you're a master chef, huh?" S teased, tucking his chin in against her shoulder. He interlaced his hands together around her middle and glanced down at the meat. It looked good and smelled delicious. She had caught it in time, so nothing really had been lost. "I've been thinking," S said suddenly, tone more serious, "About our options."

"I'm just out of practice," she answered with a smile, leaning back into his arms. Weekend breakfasts had been a regular part of the routine from years ago, though it seemed more and more like decades now. It was strange to be cooking for one, rather than four.

"Options." She echoed, exhaling as she pushed the eggs around in the pan. Their 'honeymoon' vacation had only lasted as long as her hunger was at bay, they would have to change the situation in order to move on. Wenda let her head rest against his, "What did you have in mind?"

S hesitated a moment before responding, "Well, the obvious choice would be to get some blood from a blood bank. Eventually, once vampires are legalized, that will likely become the method anyway. That and willing volunteers. So...I wouldn't really consider it robbery. Besides, it's not like I would need to get that much. I'm sure they have tons, especially of certain blood types that aren't used all that often." The idea made sense to him and he was sure he wouldn't have a problem in getting what he needed. No fingerprints would match him, especially if he partially shifted his hands while he did it. Then they wouldn't even be able to match him if they did get his prints.

"Maren and the rest of the Family are in similar straights, most of the bottled blood was lost in The Babylon. They have a psychic net on a few neighborhoods, but... I'd rather get some from the bank." She agreed, "Blood does have an outdate, I know where O-negative is kept for emergency patients at LA General, but if we were to take AB or even just A-positive...."
She flipped the eggs, thinking it over. "How would you get in, though? I mean, those places might be guarded heavier than usual now that everything's been revealed. We could take it off of a hospital shelf while no one's looking, I could keep the doctors from noticing you."

S already had a response formed, having already thought about how it would be guarded, "Yes, it's probably guarded...against vampires. I doubt they are actually paying to have more security guards around, especially when the hospital would be liable if any of them die on the job. But I bet they are installing traps that would work against vampires, like UV lights and such. Which won't do a thing to me. So, I think I could get in and get out rather quickly. It shouldn't be a problem." He even had a plan for the keypad, if there was one. He could easily sit on a bench down the hallway and just focus in on the numbers someone punched when they entered. If he looked really hard, he would be able to see what they pressed rather easily. Humans just weren't all that fast.

"You're right," she murmured, the truth of it dawning on her. "A werewolf wouldn't need blood, they'd never expect... but once you get in, how would you get out? They'd never let you just walk away with bags of blood in your arms." She offered, voice concerned as she stepped away, pulling a plate from the cupboard. She slid the eggs and ham from the pan onto the plate and turned off the burner just as the tast popped.
"If getting in is easy, we'll have to be sure about getting out, too." She reached for the toast.

"Yeah, that's the hard part," S replied, "Some of Silver's contacts should still be in the city though. I could see if they would give me a hand in terms of something that would let me get out easily. Or at least some sort of gear that would make it so no one notices. If not...well, it's not like they'd be able to catch me anyway." Though if he was going to get found out, then it would be in his best interests to go through the rest of the blood banks in the area in the same day, before his face was able to circulate. After that, it wouldn't matter all that much.

Wenda nodded along as she got the toast, buttered it, set it on the plate and turned to hand the plate to him. Her expression was one of careful consideration, they had to act soon, there was no way around it. Otherwise, he might not be well enough to escape unharmed anyhow...
"Ask around, but you'll need a real escape plan to get out. It'll only take a minute, maybe two for the police to arrive, and they've got silver bullets."

"What about a long-term option? Could we get a connection inside the blood banks, just in case things don't pan out? I could direct a human, they wouldn't even know they were helping us." Wenda asked, the stolen blood would only last so long, and what if Vampires were outlawed entirely? "I'd only need to be a few buildings over, I could have them leave the doors open for you, put things in to block the security cameras, something."

The idea had crossed his mind, but he didn't want her to exhaust herself in keeping control of a human. And if anything managed to break her control, things could go bad very quickly. "That's always an option," S told her, "But i'd rather save it as a last resort. Controlling humans is not going to get us any brownie points in the long run. I don't want us using that and ending up in jail when everything becomes legal and normal and the human ends up suing us or something. I'd rather go about this in a more legitimate manner."

He had been toying with a few options in that regard, one more likely than the others, "There have to be human groups sympathetic to Immortals popping up somewhere in the city and the world at large. If we can manage to get into contact with them, they should be able to help us with what we need. Some of them might even end up wanting to be donors, it all depends. The problem is contacting them...but if I can get in touch with some of the Pack's general contacts, they should know or be able to help us track down some groups. It's all a series of dominoes. If we can knock them down in the right order, everything will work out without us having to do anything drastic."

She sat the plate down on the kitchen island, nodding along in agreement. "As legitimate as robbery is, but there isn't much of a choice left over now, I think." Wenda agreed, listening as he spoke. There had to be people already, organizing, coming together, waiting for Immortals to step out into the rest of the world.
"It'll be tough, the World Health Organization has been spinning everything hard against us, so I'd imagine any organizations are having a hard time getting started. As far as volunteers for feedings go, I'd be concerned about more Nachzehrer outbreaks. Someone who's been fed from could become a Nachzehrer at time of death, and that's something we definately do not want spreading. We might want to keep it to banks, or even see if a vaccination could be found for the long-term." Maybe there were pros to being out in the open, the humans couldn't afford a Nachzehrer outbreak anymore than the Vampires could. Granted, if the details behind the 'Super-Bug' that decimated an entire hospital got out, the case against Vampires would become stronger yet.

"Have you seen this yet? Our neighbor down two floors was watching this earlier, it's... definately not what I expected to happen so soon. It started off on the internet in the morning, now it's all over CNN. Let me show you."

Her hand reached out and cupped the side of his head gently, and she stepped forward with it to press her forehead to his, calling up memories of the video. Gentle tendrils of thought brushed against his mind from hers, Vala sitting at the kitchen table, Maren's voice from behind the camera, laughter and mirth matching Vala's innocence, seeming almost... normal.

S watched the memorized video with obvious interest and surprise. "She worked faster than I expected," he said, pursing his lips, "But that should help tremendously. The more things like that that get out there, the faster this will all blow over." The sooner the better in that regard. Public opinion was balancing on a knife edge at the moment, unsure what to believe and afraid of the unknown.

Bringing himself back to the discussion at hand, S responded, "You were talking about Nachzehrer, right?" His eyes lit up in a manner that showed he had already had a thought on the subject. "We obviously can't do it right now, but those Immortals that were with Alluvian were different. The vampires especially. I don't know if you ever heard, but Alluvian did something to them or taught them something so that they don't create Nachzehrer when they feed. I never learned the specifics of how they figured out how to do it, we were constantly dealing with other problems, but..." He paused and then enunciated each word carefully, "If we are able to find either one of his group or Alluvian himself, wherever he's hiding out, he can tell us the method of making vampires not transmit whatever causes Nachzehrer to be created. If we can do that, that removes a major obstacle and opens up many other options...options that would help us in the eye of the public."

"That..." she trailed off, the idea of it amazing to her. If they could find out how, one of the largest hurdles -the one that would stay with them wether Vampires were accepted or not- would be over. "If we could find that out... I could... everyone could..." Hope.
"We'll have to find Alluvian, then. Or Loryt, she would know. Do you think they'd go public with the information? A 'safe way to drink'? I could reach out to her, she's much older, and much stronger than I am, she might feel me?"
The possibilities were spinning in Wenda's mind as she leaned against him, "The robbery would draw their attention, make it easier to find them, maybe..."

"With a bit of luck," S added, holding her loosely, but close, "And I don't know the answer to any of those questions. You can try to reach her psychically, but i'm not sure if you'd be able to make contact even if they are still in the city. I was always able to faintly sense them before this whole mess if I concentrated, but all of their signatures have vanished. They've all probably gone into pretty deep hiding. As far as I remember, the housing they were all using was concentrated in the middle of Downtown. So they probably had to cut off all contact so they could hide." There was always the other possibility...that they were dead. But he didn't think that was likely. There would have been some sort of note in the news even just after everything exploded if that many bodies showed up that weren't human. Besides the fact that they were all old and strong, they could handle themselves. If they were caught, it would be humans that died, not them.
