Miyuki: Mei yawned, stretching as she once again left her classes. She should be done with them soon hopefully, but she was still new so she knew it was just a part of joining the pride. She still had yet to really meet anyone, so she tended to shy away from crowds. She just...felt out of place. She sighed as she walked to a pool of water, stopping for a drink before she raised her head and lay down to relax in the afternoon sun. It was a nice day out, she thought as she grinned as began to hum a bit, more to herself but she wouldn't mind if anyone listened. After all, she did dance and sing as part of her 'job' in the pride.

Ary: Farasi darted across the sand, his lion heart beating quickly and matching the fast rhythm of his run. In and out, the air passed through his nose as he felt his muscles burn pleasantly under the pressure. It was hot...especially in the dark coat he wore. But he ran alway, enjoying the challenge and the feeling of his body in motion even under the sun's disapproving gaze.

When he came to a pool of water, though, he stopped to lap up a much needed drink. He knew better than to be careless just because he was pushing himself. Water was the most important thing out here...if you didn't get enough of it, even within the pride's lands, you could do yourself in. As the frantic slurping died to a calm lapping of the tongue he noticed that someone else was near by...he only noticed, though, because of her singing.

After a while he lifted his head, water dripping from his whiskers and growing mane. He licked both areas clean to the best of his ability and called to an unfamiliar looking lioness a bit away, "Nice pipes."

Miyuki: Mei had continued to sing until she suddenly heard a voice not too far away as she leaped to her feet in surprise as she spotted the dark young male. "Oh, h-hello there!" she said, a little nervous as she always was when meeting new people. She hadn't noticed him coming, because she was into her song. Normally she kept her guard up and listened, but since she joined the pride she had began to lower her guard a little bit, since there were others now to help protect her, instead of her fending for herself and she normally did. Still, old habits died hard and new lions she didn't know normally made her a little nervous.

She took a deep breath, she had to remember the lions here were friendly, or at least she hoped they all were, so she didn't need to fear strangers now right? "Um, im Mei. I am a little new here, only been here for about a week. Might I ask for your name sir?" she asked. Mei always tried to be polite when addressing others, so she used terms like, 'Miss' 'Sir' ect. Unless she knew you, then she normally just used a name.

Ary: Sir? Well he'd certainly never been called that before. Young man, maybe, but sir made him feel old...or at least as if he were pretending to be. Age wasn't something he could fake well enough for that. He didn't condem her for the odd commment, though, and instead just cocked a curious eyebrow.

"You can ask, but I'll save you the trouble of another question; I'm Farasi," he replied with a lop-sided smile. He dropped his head a little to move his mane from his eyes as he looked at her thoughtfully, "New hu? Guess that would explain why I haven't seen you before. Nice."

Miyuki: She didn't really equate it to age. She just tried to be polite, and usually it was more a nervous reaction then anything else. She nodded when he replied with his name with a smile. "Nice to meet you Farasi. That's an interesting name. Does it mean anything in particular?" she asked, him, now sitting instead of standing. Though she hadn't quite made it back to lying down. Not just yet at least.

She nodded once more when he mentioned that was why he hadn't seen her around before. "Yes, I joined the pride from wandering as a rogue most my life. It is nice being a part of a pride now, I just get nervous around new people so I haven't quite worked my way into the inner circle of the pride. As far as relations go." she said as she took in a deep breath, then let it out again. "Its a nice day today." she said, looking up at the sky for a moment before turning back to her companion for the moment.

Ary: "Uh...well, lets see, Da might have mentioned something about it..." His eyes lifted towards the sky as he casually searched his brain for the information. He could have sworn it had been mentioned once or twice. He scratched a quick itch behind one of his ears and then, as if it had jogged his brain a little, said, "Ahhh...pretty sure it means Knight. Cheesy hu?"

The question was casual, just as all his comments seemed to be. They were laid back and without any intent of self degregation or the degredation of others. Luckily his tone was easily understood.

"You just got here...it'll happen eventually. We're not so big that you don't know people, unless you go hide somewhere or something..." he rolled his shoulders in a shrug. She'd be just fine. It wasn't like it was hard to meet people.

At her comment about the sky he shook his head, "You chatter a little, when you're nervous hu? Relax. I'm not anyone important to be wasting all that energy." He laughed a bit as he said the last bit.

Miyuki: She wondered who Da was. A family member maybe? Well, she figured she wouldn't pry. It wasnt' really her place to do so. She shook her head when he said the meaning was a bit cheesy. "I don't think so. Just means that you can be the knight for your future lady." she said with a grin and a wink. She knew there were some girls who liked guys like that. Then again, some would rather just defend themselves rather then relying on another.

"Yah, I am hoping so. I figure in time I will know everything and things will feel more comfortable and at home. Though for now I just have to try and meet others I suppose." she said. She just needed to get past her shy nature.

When he mentioned her chattering when nervous she perked her ears up. Did she? "Oh, I am sorry. I-I guess I never noticed that before." she said, feeling slightly embarassed by it. "I apologize if i am talking too much." she said as she lay down, ears back. She didnt' want to annoy anyone, and she did hope that she wasn't just annoying him..

Ary: "See, that's what I mean. Last thing I need is female kind getting the wrong impression," he shook his head. Knight was a pretty hard title to live up to. He only knew one person who could, realistically, and that was his great uncle Vian. But he was the exception rather than the rule.

"You'll meet others pretty easily...if you've got a job you're unused to, that might be the harder thing...lots of us are around, you'll bump into people. Most everyone's friendly, so it won't be too bad for you," he told her. They actually recieved new members quite regularly. Not in large numbers, of course, but there was always someone new around so it was never too big of a surprise to meet them.

"Heeyy, what did I say?" He stood and loped slowly around the edge of the pool until he was on her side and could sit beside her. "None of that. You'll have way more fun if you aren't so hard on yourself." He closed both eyes, then opened one to look at her. He grinned, "Okay?"
