The snow on the ground wasn't untouched anymore. Other animals have some out, and left their tracks behind. It didn't look as pretty anymore, the field that the mare had venture to. Madoka stood out like a sore thumb against the white. She was lucky, the predatory level was low.
She walked out into the field, and she nudged some snow away, trying to find the grass under it... But it was frozen. "Well... Thats really no good..."

Even in the dense woods the snow was imperfect. Soquili, two leggers, and other various creatures having ruined the level of perfection the snow had achieved. It some something to be mourned, though not for long. Calanon was trotting through the foods and into the clearing, where he could get some water, and perhaps nibble on some grass if it weren't frozen today; like it had been yesterday.
Bright pink against black did stand out...very well considering how quickly his pale eyes found the mare. She was...bright that went without saying. And more than that he noted some design on her hindquarter, interesting. Slowly, for he was in no rush, the Kirin made his way toward her. The end of his dark tail trailed the ground limply, why waste the energy of keeping it off the ground?
"Is the grass still frozen?" Came the lazy, almost sleepy, question from the stallion.

Madoka jumped in her spot, not noticing the other soquili at all. She looked around her, and then over at the stallion... "A-are you t-talking to me?" She asked him. Well there WAS no one else around her. But then again... You never know. "Ah...Y-yes..." Her voice was soft, and nervous. But he didn't seem like much of a threat. "Is there anything else around thats edible? I'm not really from this area..." She shivered, least the 'snow' as someone had called it, had stopped coming from the sky. It wasn't that she hated it, but she didn't know much about it. They didn't have snow on the plains where she grew up.
Her eyes through after looking at him, she noticed his body had scales, and a horn...? What was he, she had never seen anything like him before.

Cloven hooves of silver pawed at the snow covered ground. Taking a peek at the grass himself. "It won't be edible for quite some time." He said slowly, that same sleepy/lazy quality to his voice.
Ignoring the question over who he'd been speaking to, who else could he have been speaking to?, he found himself moving in to inspect the design on the mares hindquarter. "Interesting...it's nice." He said, this more to himself than to her.
"Mmm...pines really, that and the bushes which have survived." There wasn't much, not with the grass being frozen. "Where is it that you are from...if their is food there in the winter it must be far from here." Very far and warm perhaps, not that the cold and snow bothered him too much.

Madoka looked at him as he got closer, and she wanted to move away, getting a little uncomfortable with him peering that much at her hindquarters like that. Her ears twitched and rolled at his compliment. She muttered a soft thank you.
The food he talked about didn't sound to tasty... "I came from the plains. It would get chilly at night, but we never got this white stuff... It was typically warm all the time. Plenty of food." She sighed a little, thinking about those days, and the plains, it caused her heart to ache a little. "Though I'm not to sure I can accurately tell you how far from here it is." When she came here, she was rather distraught and didn';t keep track of the time.

Moving back, away from her hind area he stood infront of her. Moving his head, white hair falling about his eyes, he nodded his head to her words.
"I see, it sounds like quite a lovely place." Oh, how he'd love a place like that. To lay out under the sun and soak in it's marvelous heat. He could fall asleep like that happily, he'd love to go to such a place and remain there. His thoughts drifted to laying under the golden warm rays of the sun, eyes closed and drifting to sleep.
"I think I'd like to go there, it sounds very nice." He said sleepily, as if the thoughts of such a place and sleeping made him tired, he even gave a small yawn. "I don't know what can be done about the lack of grass to eat, it is winter and it's frozen. You may have to try what I've said is around..."

Madoka tilted her head when he started to day dream. She too kind of missed her home, but it wasn't really a place for a single horse to live and roam. Well at least her. She wasn't all that strong after all. She had to come to terms with leaving, and coming here. She looked around again at the pines and she mucked her month. She wasn't to found of their smell, and she was expected to eat them.
"Maybe I'll wait until I'm a bit hungrier..." If she was starving, then she'd surely eat them happily.

Her voice snapping him from his thoughts, which were so pleasing he shuddered at the imagined warmth. Blinking his eyes he bobbed his head, and flickered his tail behind him.
"Why is it you would leave such a place? With food...and such warmth?" He questioned. He couldn't help it, there was food there and more importantly glorious warmth! It sounded quite luxurious and pleasing.
"Yes, perhaps, unless we can find some berries which can be eaten..." He spoke slowly, thinking if he knew where some may be. "The water I will say is very good in the cold...quite chilling but in a good way."

Madoka looked over at him and laughed a bit nervously. "Ah well, I was in a herd there. But some things happened, and I had to leave." She gave him the short and easy. She hoped he wouldn't because it still hurt her heart. "I like it here, there's shared. There are more dangers on the plains." She looked over at him. "Berries? I like berries..." Her train of thought switched. "Cold water? It makes me even colder."

"I would like to see such a place one day." And perhaps it would be a place to settle. He would need to find his way there though, and that could be a problem. He was not the best when it came to long distance travel; but only because he knew not the destination or tell tale signs of getting closer.
"Their are some berries, we can find them." A nod of his head, and a flicker of his tail, and he motioned her to follow. "I like the cold water, even if it makes me colder. it is very fresh and crisp tasting...pure."

"Really? The plains really are beautiful..." She was still fond of her first home. But living there as a mare alone, was a death sentence. "I could always show you how to get there some day.." Her voice was slow and steady. As she focused her breathing to become un nervous.
"I like berries..." She smiled a him and moved to follow. Yes berries were always something pleasing to her. "I can understand that. Maybe i can enjoy it more when I get acclimated to the area. "
As they walked Madoka looked around, and her heads bumped into a branch causing snow to fall onto her in a heavy clump... "Eeee~!"

"That would be very nice, you showing me to the plains. I would appreciate that." It would be a very nice idea to see the place, and to start living there. He could see where living as a mare, alone, anywhere would be dangerous. He wasn't a mare though, so he was safe thankfully as he didn't want trouble.
"Yes, perhaps if you become used to this new place you will like it." And fine out what could be eaten and was around in the different seasons. Startled by her voice Calanon turned around, expecting her to be hurt or something, but she was covered in snow.
Laughing he shook his head and went over to try and nose some of the snow off of her.

"What do I do I do!? It attacked me!" She shrieked. She shivered when the stallion pushed some of the snow off her. She shook herself like a wet dog would, and she looked frightened. "Oh I miss the sunny plans..."
She shook her head some, and urged him to continue leading the way. Her stomach was starting to growl. She was ready for some food.
(Ugh sorry it's short.)

"It doesn't attack soquili, it just falls on us. It's cold, and wet, sometimes heavy. But it does not attack or cause injury. Ice does however. Calanon replied to her as he lead the way.
Into the woods toward where he knew there were some surviving plants, ones which handled the cold well enough. Pine trees alive all around, whilst others were dead. "We'll arrive soon." His pace was slow, he didn't hurry himself along.

Following after the slower moving stallion, Madoka looked at the pine trees. They looked like if they were together they could make for good covering. She was grateful that someone was helping her, or else she'd probably go hungry that day. It didn't take to long to get to the area he was taking her. And he was right, there were some plans that had survived the cold.
