Hello, all. Some time ago, I decided that this RP Guild might benefit from having an illustrated map of Dragon Castle World, or at the very least, the immediate area around the Castle. I had every intention to scan a perfect image of the Map in, but was unable to do so, due to hardware complications. However, just Today I made some minor alterations to the Map, and decided to take a Photo of it, so that at least you would all be able to see it in some form.I apologize if it looks a bit... Unprofessional. Many things were erased and redrawn, but I think I feel alright about it, overall. As you can see, I've included every location featured thus far in the RolePlay, or at least the ones nearest to the Castle ( to my knowledge). I have also taken the liberty of giving each of the locations a name, based on Tolkien's Elvish (Sindarin, the Language of the Grey Elves from the Third Age, in most cases, but some of the words are from Quenya, the Original Elven Language of the beginning of time, from which Sindarin is derived). Avacnela's HomeTown to the West, "Dunlhach" ("Dun", "West. "Lhach", "Flame"), The Forests, Orod Fenn, to the North ("Orod", "Mountain. "Fenn", "Threshold", since it is at the roots of the Mountain Range), and Taurë Ensereg, the Cursed Woodlands to the South ("Taurë", Forest. "En", "Of". "Sereg", "Blood", since it is accursed). Tenlok's Town, on a small Island to the far South, "Aearneleg" ("Aear", "Sea". "Neleg", "Tooth", for the shape of the Island), Aurafang, Michael's homeland to the East, bordered by the Blue Trees of his People (Whose name I was very tempted to warp into something akin to "Aurveng"), and "Cardhon Lhûg" in the center of it all ("Cardhon", "Castle". "Lhûg", "Dragon."). Of course, several of these land features are of my own creation, more specifically, the Mountain Range to the North, "Per Corengond" ("Per", "Half". "Cor", "Ring". "En", "Of". "Gond", "Stone".), the entrance to the caves within, "Orondto" ("Orod", "Mountain". "Anto", "Mouth".), and the single mountain in the center of the crescent: "Per Corgîl" ("Gîl", "Star". "Half-Ring Star.") This thread is for the purpose of discussing this Map, and any Maps created in the Future. Please let me know if there are any locations I've missed, things or names any of you would like changed, or if you have any new ideas for new features or locations I could include on the Map.

I might. My Brother actually discovered a technique that can make Paper resemble old Leather Parchment, so I had been considering that, though I would rather have a finalized version of the map before making an attempt at something like that.

If need be I can always make a good illustration of the map. Even make it look crumpled or torn if you like. Lately I've been doing some pretty impressive drawings and illustrations.

I had planned on crumpling it as well, and maybe even cutting it up a little, just to give it that medieval feel. Also, that reminds me: I can't draw very well, so I apologize if the map seems... Crude, or poorly done to anyone. xd

It is alright. May not be the best, but it's good enough to give us all good visual of the area.
And about the crumpling and such, I know techniques how to make it look crumpled or torn without actually crumpling it or tearing it.

Thanks: I thought I did a fairly good job, considering. I referred to some of Tolkien, and Paolini's Maps just to get a good idea of what sort of style I wanted, and I think I did alright. As for making it look aged, my Brother has discovered that if you take ordinary paper, and actually soak it in Tea and let it dry, it ends up looking like parchment.
But, as I've said, I'd like to submit the Map to everybody first, just to see if they have anything they would like me to add, or modify.

THat's one way. Another way is mixing the right colors for watercolor paint in with water and soaking paper into that.

Btw don't you think we should expand the castle? I mean Aurafang is like 100x the size of DC. I think would should make it bigger WAY bigger.

Looks good to me! ^^
Lol, my friends and I made the paper look aged by soaking it in coffee, it smelt really good afterward. XDDDDD You could always burn the edges of the paper to.

True, Aurafang is much larger, but Dragon Castle is, in the end, only a Castle. Generally Kingdoms are considerably larger than individual structures. Besides, I'll have you know that that is no ordinary Castle: at the scale I've drawn it, it's larger than some of the Mountains.
That's not to say that the dominion of Dragon Castle's Lands has to be limited to within its walls, however. If you want, I could create borders for the Castle's Territory, beyond the Fortress itself.
Edit: From my experience with the Tea method, the Paper actually doesn't end up smelling any different from how it would normally, which really doesn't make sense, if you think about it, but it's an interesting advantage.

Good point. But we can always make it a huge big uber gigantic castle smile But its whatever it looks perfectly fine.
