So without thinking, I shared a torrent from Jpopsuki to a forum to help because its invite only now, and got kind of scolded and booted off JPS. I'm usually not one for reading rules and it didn't occur in my head that I was breaking them. X:
So to discuss:
Have you ever not read the fine print and gotten into trouble because of it?

I've gotten PM's from other forums about breaking rules. But even if I read the rules and a new one is recently added and I had no idea then get scolded I'm like, "Well s**t! I haven't been on enough to know what the hell went down while I was away!"

sometimes i find myself unintentionally breaking rules i was aware of. like what one fanclub defines as spam which is really just being incredibly off-topic for a lengthy period of time. then again, that time i didn't get banned, so much as got neg-repped badly...and then pos-repped when some people thought the neg-repping was unjust..and then neg-repped badly again when i insisted i deserved it (and i did, so while it hurt, i put up with it). other than that, as far as i know, i've never managed to get myself banned from somewhere. or at least i can't recall. kinda wish some other people did though stare such as those two bloody brainless flamers that freaking stalked me, i swear. i'm still suspicious as to why they suddenly gave up and felt apologetic (and i DO mean suddenly; they had been in the middle of accusing me of being a closet pervert and a guy, and asserting their accusations), and i haven't been on that forum in over a year.
otherwise, i'm usually careful about a site i'm coming back to, and i often hang back for a bit to get more of a feel about the dynamics and whatnot. make sure i understand all the rules - new, old, revised - and whatnot before i jump in.
