Hunter leant on the wall outside the grocery store; foot tapping impatiently on the ground. Seth was bound to turn up any minute now and the Raccoon was going to shake some answers out of him. Normally he would see Noe every few days; they would argue, spar and then argue some more. But it had been ages since he had last seen her and after checking her regular haunts he had started to get suspicious.
He had seen Seth around, leaving the apartment... going about his boring life. But there was no Noe. Of course she could have simply gone off some bounty hunter bullshit task that she seemed to enjoy. But his instincts said otherwise. The look he had seen on the Cheetah’s face seemed too broken and forlorn for that.
So it was time for some answers.

Another day come and gone, Seth thought with a sigh as he clocked out from work, and yet still no news... How much longer until we find her? His job had already been monotonous enough as it was before, but now it took all of his will to force himself to come. He had gotten in enough trouble for skipping so many days before without notice when Noe first went missing, but he needed to keep working to pay the bills. Unfortunately. (Not that it would keep him from going to search for Noe should the opportunity present itself. His main problem at the moment was "transportation" so to speak.)
It wasn't too hard to spot the raccoon once he walked outside the store. While a small part of him was surprised to see the other seemingly out of the blue, his expression remained neutral. It was clear from Hunter's expression that he wanted to talk, and the cheetah had a pretty good idea about what. "Hello, Hunter," he greeted simply, expression still neutral. "Something you wanted to ask?"

When Seth finally appeared Hunter’s shrugged himself away from the wall, taking one step towards the cheetah. He wasn’t here for small talk or to play game, he only wanted one answer: “Where is Noe?” The expression on Seth’s face was guarded and unreadable as Hunter watched him and waited, arms crossed over his muscular chest.

Oh how he wish he knew... "... This way," Seth said, gesturing for the raccoon Hyte to follow him away from the front of the store. He didn't feel like having this conversation with too many other people around to watch.
One they were in a more secluded area, the cheetah Hyte paused and turned back around to face Hunter. "Noelani was kidnapped," he finally said, a serious look in his amber eyes. "We don't know by whom or where she has been taken; all we know is that she is no longer on gaia." He waited patiently for the other's reaction to the news.

When Seth ushered him away to a quiet spot, Hunter’s hops of ‘she’s just on a trip’ plummeted. So he had been right. Something was wrong. Though when Seth finally got the words out, he was completely floored. Noe... kidnapped? That was impossible right? Not only that but she wasn’t on Gaia anymore. Knowing Noelani she wouldn’t have gone easy.
He had to her back and he would. His very being demanded it. Wasn’t this a part of why he had been created? To keep her safe.
For a long time he was silent, his face at first pale and then flushed red with anger. After a long, tense silence he let out a breath and smiled; a deadly look that promised pain for whoever had taken her.
“Then we’d better go get her back.”

For probably the first time ever, Seth agreed wholeheartedly with the raccoon. A small smile crossed the cheetah's lips at Hunter's expression. "And so we shall." Actually, Hunter may be just the help that they needed. "Any idea if those demi-god abilities of yours can let you travel between any worlds other than the faekat one?"

“They should. I haven’t tried but it shouldn’t be too different.” Hunter considered it, mind quickly running over what he knew of his abilities. He hadn’t been idle since his last trip. While Onatah certainly didn’t always appreciate his appearances in her world; she had helped him in better controlling his skills.
With a task in mind he was all business. The hunt was on. “Do you know the exact spot she was taken from? I should be able to feel the energy used there and make a portal to whatever world they took her. If not, it may take a bit longer to in locating the right place.”

"I don't know 100%, but I do know where her scent trail died," the cheetah replied with a nod, some hope finally starting to return. If Hunter could really help them hop between worlds, then they might just be able to find her themselves after all. Only question was, just how many worlds away was she now? "I'll take you there."
~~~~~~~
Seth didn't drive anywhere near as recklessly as Hunter often did, but he still made very good time in getting them there. "This is the place," he remarked as he turned off the car engine. Before them stood an old abandoned warehouse that looked as if it might crumple against a light breeze. "She disappeared over a week ago, but magic trails usually last a while, right?"
Hunter didn’t say a word during the car ride and when they arrived he got to work. “It should be there.” He replied absently. The Raccoon slowly walked around the entire warehouse, inspecting the outside carefully for signs of Noe.
Coming back around to the front he slipped inside, sniffing at the air and giving a thoughtful ‘hm’. The whole situation seemed odd. Not that it would stop him from getting her back.
He ran a finger through the new dust that had fallen on the ground to cover whatever tracks Noe had left behind. Hunter reached out with the part of him that belonged to a demi-god, searching for something left behind to grab onto. It was there. All it needed was to be hooked and pulled open.
“I can make the portal. But I need to prepare first.” He hadn’t taken his bow with him to see Seth and he wasn’t going to jump into a strange world without it.
Seth watched silently while Hunter searched the warehouse. He had come here many times himself since he had first found the place, but unfortunately he lacked the ability to be able to find or sense any magical effects, no matter how hard he had tried. When Hunter said he could open the portal, that was all that the cheetah needed to hear. "I understand. We'll need to prepare as well." And by 'we' he meant Eli and himself. If they were going to be traveling to other worlds then they would definitely be needing the kuppy's assistance. "Anywhere I can drop you off before I stop by the apartment?"
“Good.” Hunter stood, letting go for the moment of the small link to Noe. “Drop me near Ruri’s place. Where do you want to meet up again after and how long will you need?” He was mentally making a check list of everything he needed to do and take. There could be anything in another world; you would have to be on guard. Hunter started towards the car. “Who else is coming?” He hadn’t missed the ‘we’.
"Eli will be joining us," Seth answered as they headed toward the car. "And how long we need will depend on whether he is currently home or not. Possibly an hour or so." He turned on the ignition once they were in and put the car into reverse. "Just call me when you're ready and I'll let you know our progress. We could meet here again, or we could meet at the apartment if you just want to take one car. I'm flexible."
“Ah.” Hunter fell only just short of asking what use the sparkly boy would have but decided to keep his mouth shut. Eli was Noe’s brother and if he wanted to come he could, as long as he didn’t get in the way or question any of Hunter’s ‘methods’. “I’ll meet you back at the warehouse in an hour then. Make sure you tell anyone else who decides to tag along that this isn’t going to be a tea party.”
"Naturally." With their plan set, the cheetah Hyte went ahead and dropped off Hunter at Ruri's before heading home himself. They would need to get ready quickly, for it was best to grab this opportunity while it was still available. We're coming for you Noe, just stay strong...
