It was early morning within the Valley of the Blessed, not much was stirring bar the early birds, crickets and various other nocturnal creatures. The sun had not yet rose up passed the hills so all was still embraced in a light darkness. Today was a particular cold day, sprinkles of dew and small puddles and streams were frozen, although they'd most likely melt as the day went on, yet it still showed you that winter wasn't quite over, even though the new grass had grown in and the flowers were beginning to bloom.
Today Banshee had chosen to stay up longer than usual, for no particular reason other than to watch the sunrise, having never really seen it before due to her habit of being quite nocturnal, preferring to sleep during the day and get on with her business during the night. Call it odd but that was the way she liked to live her life, that and she considered herself to look rather odd, all black with skeletal and cobweb like markings. She often thought that was why her mother had called her 'Banshee' due to her appearance, that and her ghostly white blueish hair didn't help either.
She was often thought of as a ghost or a bad omen by some centaur, another reason as to why she spent her time awake at night, less came out at that time enabling her to keep to herself.
Kicking at the ground with a front hoof, she attempted to clear a spot to sit herself down, wanting to be comfortable for seeing the sunset rather than having a stick poking her rump, not a pleasant experience. Once satisfied she slowly sat herself down upon her haunches, leaning slightly against a tree trunk, her pale blue eyes staring out across the hills, wating in anticipation.

Light many large cats Kamaraja, a deep purple cat'taur, hunted at night or at the twilight hours. He had been tracking a small boar for hours now and he was finally moving in for the kill. He smirked his larger body crouching out as he claws dug into the ground. Today he was just play hunting but still to him it was as serious as a real hunt.
As he was about ready to pounce a faint breeze brought the sound of a hoof pawing the ground. He tired to ignore it as he lundged forward to attack the small boar his claws moving back inside his paw as he moved to grab the pig with his front paw's and hands. but he slipped on the slight bit of ice new the water's edge and he cursed as the boar ran off his four legs shifting to catching himself before he fell fully. "Dang it it was a perfect shot! What is making that nosie?" He turned his bright yellow eyes flashing as he saw a glint in the fading moonlight of silvery blue hair and just as bright eyes of a female centaur.

Banshee was deep in thought when a she heard a faint thudding sound. At first she paid no mind to the noise, after all it was probably a creature of the night getting ready to return to it's home before sunrise, that or something else along those lines. It was then that she heard the squeals of a boar and something sharp skidding across ice, not exactly the most welcoming sounds. Rising to her hooves, she turned her attention in the direction the noise had come from, not a few moments later did a young boar run passed her legs and into thick foliage to safety. But what had scared it so? Most likely the thing that had skidded across the ice, only one way to know and that was to have a look, not that she'd go charging on in there, that quite frankly would be stupid.
Slowly she made her way back into the forest, her eyes narrowing as she saw the silhouette of what seemed to be some sort of large creature, how she knew that it wasn't a bush but a creature was because of it's glowing yellow eyes. She came to a halt a few feet away, angling herself ever so slightly behind a bush, just watching the creature, until finally deciding to talk to it, you never knew if something was sentient or not ''Are you all right?'' She questioned, her eyes fixed on the form before her, watching and waiting to see what it would do.

Kamaraja reached a hand up to run his fingers threw his hair and rub his head. "So he was right the eyes and hair belonged to a female. He could not see where she went right now, the rising sun was making the shadows harder to looked at though his form was now growing into light. He shifted his raised hand to shield his eyes a bit trying to make the slight change in light easier on his eyes. "Were you the one making the clicking and shuffling noise?" He asked the soft ghostly voice. His tail shifted out straight behind and his heavy pawed feet careful moved off the ice. "If it was you made me loose my prey ghost.' he said. He might as well call her a ghost for he only caught a glimpse of her and now he could not see her. Great he was in a haunted part of the land where the plains met the forest. This really was not his morning.
"Look I wont bite or run, but if I am going to talk I would like to see what it is I am talking to."

Dammit, she was going to miss the sunrise, but no matter there was always tomorrow...Or the next night, or a few months from now, either one. Her eyes narrowed further as the sun began to rise up passed the hills, slowly revealing the form of the other creature, a fellow centaur? No, not quite at least, his animal like features were more feline than horse, rather intriguing, considering Banshee had never seen such a thing, indeed she had heard of Cat'taurs but never had she saw one, not until now that is. What interesting colors his coat was made up of purples and yellows of varying shades, the sun lighting the yellows up as it rose farther and father up passed the hills.
Warily she stepped further behind the tree as he spoke, asking her questions and commenting about her pawing at the ground. So he was the one the boar was running from? Truth be told she was quite glad that the boar had gotten away, to be food someone's food is a terrible fate. A soft sigh escaped her lips as the word ghost was brought up, one way or another it was going to happen ''A ghost then I am, a ghost that made you loose your prey, a ghost of this forest.'' She spoke softly, to some her words were confusing, like riddles, but that was just the way she spoke, the way she thought.
He wouldn't bite or run but he wished to see her form, a worse fate for the female than his previous options. She thought over his words for a moment, wondering what to do and whether or not to show herself ''But if I am a ghost, wont I disappear in the light?'' She questioned but soon enough she let out a deep sigh and stepped out from behind the tree and into the light, all so that the fellow taur could see who he was speaking too.

Kamaraja smiled and lowered his and. "Well the I guess as a forest ghost you have every right to stop my hunt...but I was not going to eat the silly thing...I was merely practicing. He was un harm when he ran off was he not?" He questioned the dark. At least if it were a ghost it was still talking to him. He wondered if forest spirits spoke to everyone.
At her question he shrugged his large shoulders. "I would not know forest ghost I have not talked to many ghosts...but I would think that this forest would protect you would it not? But if you must remain in the dark as long as you shall talk to me then you can hide." His words seemed to fall of deaf ears as he watched the darker than a moonless night female centaur step out form the shadows. He had to admit as he looked her over that he was a bit let down that she was of flesh and blood instead of a true ghost. "I see you are a centaur of the forest then...but you look tangible to me." he said his body now on solid ground his tail flicked behind him. "I thought you might have really been a forest ghost or spirit but I see now you are not." he shrugged again the purple splotches on his shoulder winkling for a second. He always felt small next to a centaur. Their long legs made them naturally taller than a cat'taur and the purple male did not like feeling small.
He sighed, "Well then ghost or not I am sure you are glad for your boar's life being spared even if I was not planing on feeding on him." He sighed and tried to act tough though or that he did not care that the other one had made him look foolish. Though he did steal glances and her manner of dress and her smooth dark coat.
