The beach - a warm and sunny place where children could play and parents could relax. Lam had taken her little family to one for the day, hoping it might inspire her wife, and maybe give Varian and Cookie some time to explore. The boy had immediately run off to find some shells and shiny things and play in the water. Erigin was relaxing on the beach with a drink, as was Lam herself (for the most part).
And Cookie? The infant was attached to one of those very extendable child harnesses and playing in the sand a ways away. It wasn't because Lam wanted to drag the tot around but because it seemed a bit smarter to keep her attached to a semi-leash in case she decided to go flying - since there wasn't quite anywhere to turn around here and she could just zoom off into nothing and never be seen again.

Henri was sitting on a large stone at the base of the hill where his property met the public beach, sipping iced tea and watching Izzy being a kid. When the girl suddenly stopped to look at something a ways off, he perked only slightly, but when she ran to him he sat at alert.
"What's wrong?"
"Daddy, is that a kitty or a baby?"
"...I...thhhink that's a baby."
"...Daddy, can I go play with the kitty-baby?"
"You can try. Be nice."
So Izzy walked over to the kitty-baby and sat perhaps a foot away in the sand, smiling. She gave the kitty-baby a little wave.

Cookie looked up from where she'd been piling sand (she hadn't mastered making shapes with the buckets yet). The tot stared at Izzy a few times, her nose twitching a little as she watched the black scaled girl come over and then wave.
Immediately, the tots face broke into a huge grin and she mewed, waving back. Her ears and tail twitched as she looked at the other child before thinking she should do something to invite her over. So, Cookie picked up the bucket she'd discarded and held it out for Izzy, making another little mew.

Izzy couldn't help it. She laughed and clapped when the kitty-baby meowed and happily shuffled over on her knees to take the bucket. She started filling it with sand and grinned broadly.
"Hi, kitty-baby! I'm Izzy!"

Cookie mewed and clapped back. This girl clapped too! She could clap! She liked to clap! And she was playing with the sand! This would be fun!
To be helpful, the pink haired tot pushed some more sand around in the pile and picked up handfuls of it to try and put in the bucket to help Izzy fill it. The concept of using the bucket to collect more sand was rather lost on her.

Izzy didn't mind. She liked babies, and babies could only play silly baby games! She held the bucket out for the little girl and giggled, watching her try and fill it. Once she'd got a good couple of handfuls in, the chiton girl lifted it away.
"Now watch!"
She slammed it upside-down into the sand and lifted it slowly to reveal a well-shaped "towel".
"Tadaa!"

Cookie clapped again, staring at the funny shaped pile and let out a surprised mewl. Reaching out, the girl poked it a bit and was surprised to see a finger tip hole in the structure. A surprised noise followed as she picked up sand to try and fill the hole.

Logically, the entire thing toppled over before Izzy had a chance to correct the kitty-baby. Oh well! It wasn't like it had taken very long to make!

Cookie looked sad, her ears drooping as she looked up at Izzy and made a sad noise, pointing at the item, her little lip quivering. She was sorry it'd fallen, she hadn't meant it to!

Izzy's eyes went wide. Oh no! Kitty-baby was crying! She shoveled the sand from the destroyed structure back into the bucket and made another one right where it had been.
"It's okay! See?!"

Cookie looked at her in confusion, looking slowly from the older girl to the bucket before smiling slowly. She let out a tentative noise before smiling and launching herself forward a bit to hug Izzy. Zeezee girl was so nice to her!

Izzy laughed and hugged the kitty-baby back. She was so fuzzy!
"Careful! Don't wanna hurt yourself," she said, noticing the kid-harness for the first time. Daddy had never used one of those on her, but she saw a lot of kids at the beach with them.

Lam laughed from nearby, having walked over to check on her little one. "Don't worry about the harness. It's just so Cookie doesn't zoom off." the woman explained, kneeling to pat her daughter's head and smile at Izzy.
The pink haired tot mewed, waving to her Mommy and picking up the bucket to push sand into it.

"Hi!" Izzy said, flushing a bit pink at the sudden arrival of the kitty-baby's distinctly un-kitty Mommy. She looked down at the bucket a moment, then glanced back up.
"I'm Izzy. We live in the lighthouse." She pointed and looked back toward where her father sat, and he smiled and waved.

"Nice to meet you Izzy." Lam said with a smile, patting her daughter's head again. "Why don't you tell Cookie about the lighthouse, hm? I just came over to see if everything was okay." the blonde explained with a large smile, "You two be good okay?"
Cookie mewed happily at her mother before returning to trying to push the sand into the bucket and then dumping it down, grinning up at Izzy.
