So my military commander emails the battalion today. He said: "Before the next semester starts, I want everyone to be of decent condition. I want everyone to do 30 push-ups every 30 minutes from here until the beginning of the semester. When we start, you all better be able to do 100 push-ups without fault."
I thought he was kidding, but hey, he's the commander. I've already done 3 sets. So far so good; I'm not dead yet~

If you start to get tired either cut the number in half or wait longer between doing them.. like every 45 minutes or something. >D

Whoa. One hundred without fault... I have effort doing twenty-five at a time. xD Although the thing that sounds hardest about that exercise is remembering to do it every thirty minutes.

Oh? When's the new semester start? I might just join you on this challenge for the heck of it.
And are you doing other stuff on top of that? I wonder how much time I should allot for recovery period after my normal work-out or swimming routines.

@ Intoxikace: I actually asked my commander why we need to do it ((of course, I asked for permission to speak freely beforehand)). He said it'll really hurt once you start doing it for the first two days or so, but your body will get used to it after a while. He also advised the same thing to me: lessen the number of push-ups or delay the time of each set. So far, I'm doing great~
@ Serene: Nah, I have a little sister who doesn't let it down, haha.
@ Nom: The new semester starts on February 8th. Yes, I do cardio workout (1-hour or six miles of jogging) and lower body strength training every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. And I do core workout and upper body strength training every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Saturday is normally my day off, but I sprinkle in some yoga when I feel like it.

I'm a girl. I suck at them. D: I should do 30 crunches every 30 minutes. ... my beautiful abs have vanished... and I must find them again! >;D

It would be a bit insane if he were that a**l, good luck!

Well, he didn't mean every flippin' 30 minutes of your life. And it's the military, so what do you expect? Ironically, I plan on taking his position as commander when I reach that level (since no one else really has the balls to lead anyway). I'll still be a**l, but, like I said earlier, it's the military.

Is this in an 8 hour working day or for every hour that you're awake when it's plausible.

[ s e m p e r ] Is this in an 8 hour working day or for every hour that you're awake when it's plausible. He said "every hour you think is appropriate." I immediately ruled out personal, family, class, and business matters, but that still leaves quite a few hours to do push-ups.

Heh yeah really that would mean to me just work to be able to do 100 push ups by your own regiment. I guess 30 at a time would be good but I'd aim for 50 twice. That's usually what I do when I want to do 100 of something anyway, regarding fitness that is.

It'd look awfully awkward to do push-ups in a library or office setting. As of tomorrow, I will join you on the push-up challenge until Feb 8th.

I'm getting inspired, but I fear I'm no match for this challenge.
