((Okay everybody before we start I'm just going to set up a couple of ground rules and things to note for this ORP so that things don't get chaotic or slow. These rules aren't set in stone, but they're here to keep things running smoothly. 1) In case you didn't read the above, this party is limited to Toddlers and Children only. They're the only ones invited. Espen's young and it'd just be creepy to have hormonal kids hanging around at this age. Seriously, would you let your 8 1/2 year old kid have a 13 year old at their sleepover? Ewwww! 2) Doors close after 24 hours of this being posted. What I mean is that this RP is open, but only to those who post in it within 24 hours. After that it's closed ONLY to those members so that there aren't any awkward 'restarts'. To make sure that nobody misses out, talk about it in thread! (Shameless) EDIT: I'm going to give people a break and say that you'll be allowed in with minimal discretion up until 6-8pm EST on the 19th. I posted this at a strange hour in the day yesterday so I'll give you guys until a reasonable hour to come in. After 8 EST, I might be inclined to say "no", don't whine, it's not personal. It's only because things are picking up and any more new people would hinder the action. ABSOLUTELY NO NEW PEOPLE PAST 1AM EST ON THE 20TH! I've gotta draw the line somewhere. 3) The only exception to the above rules is Pepper. He knows where the key is and party crashers are fun and plotful. He's just like a big kid/uncle to Espen anyways. (Jay, please PM me if you're thinking about Pepper crashing it because I'll need to think on if it's appropriate for what's happening in the scene or not. He's not allowed to sleep over if he does show up. Again, creepy.) 4)I'm not going to answer the door every time someone shows up. Just come on into the action via the stairs. Presume Shane invited you in and stuff and you told him all of the food allergies and whatnot. Seriously guys that sorta stuff takes too long and this is about a party not food allergies. ----Also, before you're ask/protest, Rabid gets to do this because she was the first person here. Nobody else now kay? Kay! Goood! On we go! 5) Lights out at (page) seven! Half the fun of a sleepover is the sleeping over part. There's so much plot that can happen: getting homesick at night, night grudges, night terrors, wetting the bed, face-writing, whispering...come on you've all done it and it's fun! Once the RP hits around page seven or when things have started winding down a little bit to the point where spawn are just watching TV or something, Shane will call "Lights out" down to them and that's your cue to get your sleeping bags out and sleep let the pranks begin. Night and the RP will end when everyone has gone back to sleep. PS. I suggest writing what your spawns/parents reactions are on the waking day in your journals! 6) NOT ALL KIDS HAVE TO SLEEP OVER. For character/age/misc. reasons, your character does not have to stay for the sleepover bit. That's actually kinda cool and realistic if you think about your first sleepovers. Some spawn might feel uncomfortable sleeping amongst strangers and call home. Some spawn might not like sleeping in the same room as the opposite sex (though a curtain will be put up). I encourage you to stay for the sleepover, but if you feel like it's more plotful for your character not to, then by all means, don't. 7) If this party was by invitation only, how did Shane get our contact info? This isn't a rule, but it's a good question I was asked while planning this. I've been told that the facility would give out information for such an event and therefor I'm no longer not making s**t up. Got any other questions? Ask Espen, it's his party! Any other questions that don't have to do with what's happening ICly can be PMd to me! ))

The day of the party had finally arrived. The day that Espen had been simultaneously longing for and dreading since the idea first popped into his head. The snacks were all laid out, the bean-bag chairs were all pulled out of the toy closet and individually blown up by Shane. Locks were doubled and trippled on the office and bar fridge, and kid-friendly party music was put on the jukebox. It was going to be an awesome night! There would be so many people for Espen to meet and they were all coming to his house!
Espen couldn't help it, he jumped up and down on the couches and giggled. It was too exciting! Everything was juuuust right, and there was even a map he had photocopied and sent out to everyone as an invitation. Better yet, the night terrors had stopped! There was absolutely nothing to be afraid of anymore tonight. Espen giggled more and felt so good inside that he thought he might just hug the first person who came down the stairs.
Shane opened the glass door into the basement and was suddenly rushed by a whirl of hair and feathers as Espen gave him the biggest hug that he could, still giggling.
"Oh! So you're what's been making all that noise down here huh? I thought it was a giggle-monster or something."
Espen pulled himself away from the hug, bounced up and down on his feet, grinned and nodded "It's gonna be the best party evahh in the worllld!"
"I'm glad you like the setup," Shane said politely gesturing to all the hard work he did, with a hint for Espen not to forget his manners.
"Thank youuuu!" Espen replied still bouncing and returning to the couch nearest the stairs to eye anyone coming down the railing. Suddenly a horrible thought entered his mind. If his dad was down here, then who was there to answer the door!? "Quick quick! Go back upstairs now dad! People might be there now!"
"As you wish," Shane teased a line from a recent film that he and Espen had watched. Espen smiled, but glared at him impatiently until he saw that Shane was fully up the stairs and ready at his post...then another giggling fit.

His timing was perfect. Europa and her father were coming up the walk, the latter smiling and the former hugging an overnight bag to her chest. The child had been excited for this event for days, but now that it was actually here she found herself more nervous than excited. Honestly, she felt a little sick.
What if nobody she knew came? What if nobody liked her? What would it be like sleeping in a strange house without Daddy? The questions tortured her, but she smiled awkwardly and waved when she saw someone at the door. Espen's daddy, no doubt. She wondered what Espen was like, and what his combination was. Maybe they'd get along well!
"Hello," Anthony said, giving a little nod as he placed a hand behind Europa as if afraid she may run back out into the street.

"Hello, hello!" Shane greeted and gestured to the basement door. Already someone was here and she looked positively terrified. This caused Shane to ham up the niceness in his voice a little bit to make her feel more at home
"Come on in, and take your shoes off, you can put your coats somewhere downstairs. Espen's down there waiting for everyone." he continued "There's pastries and chips and dip and stuff too. We have a phone too if you want to call home, but I think you'll be fine, you look like you're big enough of a kid to sleep over."
Shane gave a wink to the man who had lead the girl up the front to let him know that everything was under control.

"Mm," Anthony 'said', raising a brow at the man and then turning to face Europa again, "You have your phone, don't you?"
"Yes, Daddy."
"And it's charged?"
"Yes, Daddy."
"Go on, then. You go have fun. Call me if you need me," Anthony said. He and his daughter exchanged a wave before he turned to walk back, giving Shane a passing wave. This would certainly be a test of Eurie's maturity, he thought.
Europe toed off her shoes and left them by the door before padding downstairs softly. Hm. She put her bag against the wall and dropped her coat atop it before turning to face the boy already there. She smiled softly and waved.
"Hi. I'm Europa."

Espen knew that his dad had invited girls to the party, and said that he'd thank him when he was older. Espen didn't mind girls but he'd just never actually met one his age before. It was as bit of a shocker to say the least when the first person in his house was a girl...he almost wasn't sure what to say. He didn't want to be put on the spot or seem awkward at all, and fail at greeting his first guest so he just figured he'd talk to her just like she was a guy and hoped that it worked out.
"Hi there, 'm Espen! Want some snacks, or want to play something?" he jumped gently down off of the couch to get a closer look at the Europa and motioned to the light blue table towards the back of the basement. "Ever played air hockey? It's really cool with this puck that floats like magic and zooms all over the place, and the table gets all windy inside. 'S really neat."
Espen looked at the girls wings. It was really the first thing he noticed, as there were four of them. Then her hair and horns, a contrast of light and dark colors. The more he thought about it, the more he felt there was something familiar about the contrasting in this girl's appearance that Espen suddenly felt was distinctively cool about her. Espen liked cool people, and suddenly hoped that they could be friends.

Europa was comforted somewhat by the boy's willingness to accept her into his home. She had just had lunch, so she decided to skip on the snacks lest she get all rolly and fat. Although she looked to the boy, the eyes on her wings wandered the room, surveying everything around her. There was nothing quite like having a 250-degree view of the room you were in.
"Sure. I haven't ever played air hockey before," Europa shrugged, although she was pretty sure she'd seen some boys playing it at an arcade once. It would be something to do until the others showed up, at least. Boy, she hoped she would know someone there...
She approached the table and looked in the hole where the puck was returned.
"Huh. Weird. How do you play?"

When Vali had received a invitation in the mail inviting him to a slumber party Dooma was a bit shocked to find out it was not from someone they knew. But so far all the spawns they had met had been nothing but friendly. And he did need to get out more and meet more people and spawn his own age. So with his eager pleading she said yes. They were walking up to a rather nice house and she was more worried than he was right now. It would be the first time that Vali was away from home alone for a day. But he was looking forward to it so how could she say no?
Vali smiled as they made it to Espen's house. He wondered what type of spawn he would be meeting. He wondered if Pippin would be coming or if he had even gotten an invitation. He had asked Dooma if he could invite Pippin but was told that they could not invite others to someone else party. As they drew closer to the house they could see two spawn walking inside and their guardians outside.
The first thing he saw about the other spawn before they disappeared was that they both had wings. Almost every spawn he had met so far had wings. Had it not been for Lissy he would have thought that maybe he was not a spawn after all he was almost the only one without wings. But this slight worry was quickly put away. He was going to go to a party and he would get to sleep over. "I wonder what I am going to sleep over....Dooma what do I sleep over? A bed or a couch...or something?"
Dooma laughed at his question, "Sleep over means that you will be staying at someone else's house. It is like 'I will be sleeping over at there place.' Now why don't you head on after the other two and I will go great their parents. Remember if you want to come home at any time you just need to ask to use their phone and call me alright?" She watched him nod and run off towards the house. His back pack full of all he would need for the night.

Espen crept around to the other side of the table and flipped a switch. Suddenly the machine came to life as a small whirring noise began to carry air up through the holes in the board. Espen put his hand on it and moved his face a little closer to feel the tickling of the little air pockets against his skin.
"Heheh! See, it's windy. Put your hand on it, it's fun." Espen encouraged, moving his face away and looking at Europa. It was the strangest of sensations, and he loved it. Keeping his hand on the board, he reached into his side of the goal net and pulled out the puck from the last game he had with his dad...that he lost. Placing the puck on the board, he also bent underneath the table to unhook the two slappers and slid one over gently to Europa.
"It's real easy. You hit the puck with these things and try to get it in the other guy's hole-net." Espen demonstrated by sinking the puck into his own net, pulling it back out and placing it on the table. "Then you slide the score thingy for whoever got the point and the first person to five points is the winner of the Stan Lee Cup." Espen paused for effect and to make sure that Europa understood all the rules.
Suddenly Espen's eyes darted to the figure that was now present in the room and grew wide in near fear and his skin cold. There was a giant metal...thing-person in his house!! It was probably pointy too! Was this a spawn as well? Was it sent by the bad people to come and get him at his own party, or did his dad really invite something so horrifying? Espen shuddered and continued to eye the figure, in case it made any sudden movements, hoping it remained twenty feet away from him at all times. Maybe it was nice. Maybe. But...it was still pointy.

Europa drummed her fingers on the table's surface, feeling the tiny jets of air, until her slider was...well. Slid to her. She took it and listened intently, nodding. Her hand-eye coordination wasn't the best, but she'd try! She only noticed the other boy had entered when Espen seemed distracted, and she just smiled and waved to him.
"Hi!" she said to the new boy, and then back to Espen, "C'mon! Let's play!"

Espen's skin crawled at the idea of Europa inviting the new boy over to them. Didn't she see how pointy he was? How could anyone from the facility like pointy things? He hoped that the boy wouldn't come any closer and break his concentration on the game. Espen hated to loose, but pointy things were even worse.
Putting down the puck, he started gently by nudging it over to Europa to see how she reacted to it. If she launched it back, it was on! If not, he'd just pick up the pace as she caught on, then beat her in the final round. He intensely kept one eye on the puck...and another as much as he could on the pointy kid.

Vali had made his way down the stairs and he looked around the huge room. This basement was so bit. It was much bigger than his room and almsot bigger than the appartment he and Dooma shared. He tried to see if the other two had put thier stuff down some where but they were at a table talking happily. So he started to look around himself.
Though soon enough he felt eyes one him and he turned to look at the two spawn. Sure enough one was stairing at him oddly. This was strange. He had never been staired at. He smiled his shark like grin his sharp teeth exposed. He was trying to be nice though he never thought that is sharp toothed smile could be concidered scary or the fact that his eyes could not be seen could add to the effect. He gave a wave. "Oh can three play? Um...where do I put my bag? Is one of you the person who invited me?" He asked as his tail trying to push the backpack off of his back.

Europa indeed launched the puck back and laughed, hunching over the table to continue the game. She didn't take her eyes off of the table as she spoke to the new boy.
"Him!" she said, pointing briefly at Espen, "You can play against the winner, kay?" She was pretty sure that 3 people wouldn't be able to play this game, and if they did then it wouldn't be at all fair. She fully expected to lose, however, and wouldn't mind watching a game between Espen and a little toddler.

Espen's hands were getting sweaty and he squinted and winced when Vali smiled. It was so disturbing it was almost unfair. Thankfully his hand found the puck with his eyes closed as he returned the shot into the net. That was 1-0 for him, though he thought maybe he was being a little too harsh on Europa with her first time playing.
The final jab of Europa suggesting that Espen could handle an actual match while staring at the monstrosity next to him without collapsing into a terror-filled stupor was just plain madness. He couldn't blame her though, she didn't know, nor did the new kid. He didn't want to explain himself though...it was too embarrassing and too personal anyways.
"N-no," he gulped and gave a small wave "Eur-europa can play ya....or jus...just w-w-wait for more people kay?" When asked where the boy could put his bag, Espen's arm instinctively shot out towards the farthest corner next to the bar. Hopefully the kid would take his time so that Espen could finish this game quickly and still keep an eye on the walking needle-person. He also secretly hoped that someone else came to distract the other boy until Espen could get over the shock as to what just walked into his house.

If there was one thing Rhys was not, it was nervous.
Being the child of a teacher at the facility meant he had been exposed to a great deal of weirdness over the course of his short life, most of it revolving around other spawn. From what he had experienced, kids like him were the center of the world. The only negative emotion he felt toward the idea of this party was that he hadn't thought of having one first.
"Just give someone the piece of paper in your pocket if you want to come home," Sam reminded the child. Rhys was slowly wrapping his head around the alphabet, and numbers were no problem, but who knew how he'd react if forced to recite his phone number while upset?
"Yeah, Da. Can I go in?"
Sam scanned the front of the house and nodded once he spotted Shane. He lifted the boy's overnight bag off of his shoulder and passed it to Rhys. "Be careful. And do what Espen's dad says."
Rhys nodded, hopping off toward the house. He dropped his shoes off where he was directed to, then barreled down the stairs into the basement. Almost immediately, his gaze was caught by Vali and his Supersonic Skin.
"Sweet!" he exclaimed. A robot! Why didn't he have a robot? And this basement! It was awesome!
