She had been searching for weeks without any real leads as to where she would find, anyone. Her sister had come and taken away the curse that had cast a long dark shadow on her life for so long and now, now she was perminantly searching, looking for the three little bundles who's faces she could see in her minds eye and just as importantly, she searched for Mrost.

Her gentle eyes looked around the calm cool savannah, in the darkness the world glowed a bright silver blue, the moon so fulla nd the stars so bright that at midnight the land looked sunwashed, bleached of the colours it boasted during the day.

Her heart gave a flutter as she thought of Mrost, she had so much to tell hima nd yet, nothing at all to say. She had to find him, the words of sorrow, of sorry crossed her mind but she doubted those words would be enough, she simply had to find him.

Stretching her pale wings to the moonlight she captured their rays and cast a twinkling, shimmering light around her swan white body. She would find him eventually, the world, was only so big after all.

Mrost had no idea that he was sough, no idea about a great number of things that had preceded this life for him. All he knew was that deep in his being he carried a deep and nagging desire to do something monumental, to start something huge, a war that would tear the prides asunder. He dreamed of a conquest of the lands, a nomadic pride that would call whichever land they pleased their home. War incarnate, a ravenous hoard that would make the soft weak lions cower in fear. But for now, all it was was a dream.

He didn't walked without purpose or reason, always seeking, always hunting that spark, that flare of a warrior who could lead his armies, who he could influence to do his bidding, who would champion his army. If he didn't find anyone, he would once again have to place his own life on the line.

His thoughts were of war as he wandered through the dark, the markings across his body seeming to glow faintly in the moonlight themselves, his armour dark reflections of a starry sky

Deep green eyes fell upon the deep blue body and her heart skipped a beat. His scent, despite his re-birth hadn't changed, or so she felt, was that mrost? Taking an almost frightened step forwards, she lowers her soft white ears against her head, her tongue lapping out over pale lips. "Mrost?" She calls, her voice trembling as she called that name, a name she had repeated many a time before, a name he responded to with a tenderness she knew he didn;t have for anyone else.

Her heart hammered in ehr chest as she waited for his responce, half expecting a look of horror, disdain perhaps, hatred? She hoped not, her heart yearned for her lost love, Mrost, what had he done when she left? Where were their children? That question alone tugged at her and pulled her towards the fearsome blue god.

Please, let him forgive me, her heart twinged internally, perhaps this was not mrost, he seemed, differnt somehow, eevn though he smelled the same, something about him, was just confusing, perhaps her sences had changed in her long sleep? No, she was sure, sure it was him.

Mrost could only stare incredulously as a figure he had recalled of late only in his dreams, faint and impossible to put a paw on, stood before him. Names, memories, recollections bubbled up like creatures from the depth of a deep ocean, reluctance, happiness, contentment, love even. All followed by a bitter pain and hurt. Yes, he remembered on some level, the name rung true, the figure rung true. But the pain was great and he could not remember why. Had she done something to him? Betrayal? Had she been hurt? It was all so vague, so muddled. There had been cubs. His? Hers? It was like a thick fog.

Raising a paw to his helmeted head, he winced visibly, looking her over once again, his voice weak and fractured as he stated feebly.

"Eir?"

Emerald green eyes scanned the blue body before her, it was him, it was, her heart melted as she watched him, quietly trying to decide her next move. What did she say to him now? Allowing her gaze wo wander she took in every facet of his being, enjoying looking at him again, though, he seemed, different, strange somehow. "Mrost, it is you isn't it?" You look different, just didn't seem to cover it. Taking s step forwards her soft, pale ears flatten tightly against her head.

"Mrost, say it is you, say I have found you at last?" The certainty that this was Mrost, rattled in her ears and hammered around her skull like a thousand angry bees, yet,. something so base as he was different cascaded over her eyes. What had happened? What had changed?

Perhaps, it was simply time, time changed everything, she just hoped it hadn't changed too much between them.

Mrost nodded slightly, it was him, though likely a different him than she remembered. His old self was gone, an echo, a distant memory to him. But still, it didn't change the gut wrenching sorrow and lingering love he felt looking on her now. He had lost everything in that previous life and yet now it seemed in this one it had found him again. She remembered him, that was true, but where had she gone, where had she been all that time?

"Yes. It's me. Though..probably not the same me you recall. Suppose its War's fate to be part of the cycle of rebirth more than most."

He didn't know if he wanted to believe she still existed, he'd been so loathe to trust again after he lost her, so loathe to commit that loyalty to another individual. Yet here she was, there was a lurking hope in it. It was a great deal to take in.

"Where?" was the only question he could ask. Where had she gone? What had happened?

Taking another swift step towards him she nodded agreeing almost tot he fact that he must be reborn that this was a new part of who he had been before. He remembered her, she could see it in those dark eyes.

"It, it's a long story and involves my sister." She pauses and licks her lips, could she truely blame xiu for her misfortunes? She loved her sister and it was a curse cast before they both were truely old enough to understand. "It's a long story and perhaps one left for another time. I, I have been looking for you." She smiles gently her deep green eyes looking pleading, hopeful.

"I'll never leave again, I didn't even want to leave the first time." She frowns and shakes her head. "I have missed so much." She takes another step forwards desperate to touch the deep blue god, desperate to tell him without words that alls he wanted, was to be back at his side again.

"Mrost, please, forgive me."

Mrost didn't know if he should. Should let himself be swept away once again by the old ragged emotions, tugging at their shackles for freedom. He'd locked away his emotions for a long time. But what was War without a reason? He'd promised her once, promised her he'd one day give her the world. Conquer it all for her, destroy everything that was beautiful except her, he'd leave her because sometimes the world needed a little beauty in it. His world needed a little beauty in it.

"I thought you were gone you know." He said, his voice more cracked than he intended it to be.

With a purposeful stride he closed the distance between them, nuzzling her almost against his will, against his pride. He'd missed her so much he could feel it even now, in this lifetime.

"I'll forgive you if you don't leave me again."

Enveloped in the huge blue bulk that was Mrost the pale swan like female closed her emerald eyes to the world and let her thoughts roam back to those older days, days before her long incarceration, long before a sleep that was so debilitating the world passed her by without her having to think about it.

"Mrost" She chokes coughing back a choking tear as she clung to the familiar yet new thick blue fur. She lifts her head and looks up at the new visage, he still looked like he used to yet he was so different to behold. He was still Mrost, he still remembered her and her heart flew out to him.

"What happened to you Mrost? You seem, so different.." She whispers lifting a paw and touching his cheeks, his muzzle, his face, "I'l never leave you again, I swear it." She purrs gazing up at that strong face, she didn't know what had happened to him, but she remembered his words, even if they were long ago, he could make her heart flutter with the simplest of words and here he was, once again before her after what seemed like a life time. "I don't need to be any where but here." She smiles nesting her head back under his chin and allowing her sences to simply take in the breath of him, remembering his scent, his soft feel and warm embrace. She had missed him more than she could truly express.

Mrost felt as though an eternity had passed in that moment. He had missed her in a niggling, bottomless way. War would always be his first priority, he could never deny it, it was in his blood, in every fibre of his being, it was what defined him, but at the same time, what there was of him that was an individual, that was able to make decisions, able to feel, had a very special place for Eir. There was so much to be said for being able to forget the crushing responsibilities of his existence and she afforded him that. She had always been there when he needed a break from his tireless wandering of the world, she had always been a breath of air when he felt like he was drowning. He remembered it all as he stood there.
He allowed her to touch his face, something that anyone else may have lost a paw for, his face such a vulnerable spot, somewhere he could be blinded or debilitated in a fight. He composed himself, nodding gently against her head under him as he felt confidence return to him, replacing the shock and uncertainty, lifting him up.

"I found my brother. Tanaka. We fought. I was victorious, but he made certain I had a long and lingering death. I've spent this last time, I could not say how long, in a daze, growing up once again in a world so unfamiliar to what it was before."

He flicked his tail thoughtfully. "I still feel I'm in a skin that doesn't quite fit, a skin which will take another lifetime to get used to." He looked away almost sadly "I thought you were gone forever you know. Its like a dream meeting you again, I keep waiting to wake up."

Sitting there so close to Mrost, breathing in that familiar but long lost scent she felt the world pause, or at least, she thought the world paused. Time could stand still while she sat there holding on to this moment, this rekindling of something which was more special than anything. A true love that had, thankfully, transcended in to this lifetime for him.

Of course she was surprised that he had died. He'd died alone and in pain, and it wrenched at her heart. A frown creased her serene face and she licks his face "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you." She whispers, spending a moment just to caress his face with her togue finding the old Mrost inside this young body. "I won't let him hurt you again." She laughs gently, a soft tinkling laugh, sprinkled with the magic of her being.

"It's no dream, I promise you." She clears her throat and lets out a long, sad sigh. "I wish I had been there for you my love. I won't let go again, I promise." She purrs tucking herself in to his unfamiliar form, her soul reaching out for the well known soldier within.

Mrost was not one for showing outward affection easily, pride in every line of his poise, but he was more than content to concede to Eir's affections. It still felt so impossible that he had learned to care for her, a personal little indulgence. He spent so long destroying innocence, wanting to see the world burn, it was only natural that he'd learn to have an interest in that he so frequently hunted. Besides, Eir had always had a strength to her purity, her magic saving him more than once in the past. It was even her who had given him the magical feather which restored him enough to succeed against Tanaka on that fateful day.

He gave her a warm smirk. "Don't apologise, you were there protecting me then, in a fashion. I just remember how angry I was that it used up the last reminder I had of you." his tone took on a subtle but playful edge as he stated "And don't worry about it either. The past is the past, another life, a life I still struggle to remember. Only the end of it is in any way vivid to me, the rest blurs into uncountable lifetimes. This one is the one that counts."

He had not relished a childhood and adolecence spent in solitude at all, by nature he was a social diety. War had to know people to influence them, solitude was torment So it was undeniable how good having another individual, another soul close by felt, she revitalised him.

"I missed you. A great deal. Its good to have you here again, my port in the storm." He slunk a tattered and bony wing around her and gave her an affectionate little squeeze "You give me direction. I feel like I can take on these lands again." He seemed to look out to the horizon, the fires of ambition once again dancing in his vivid blue eyes. "What we do need however is a means of communication. I would never and have never asked you to partake in the..duty that I carry. Often far apart, I miss having the assurance of your safety. Of being able to find you."

Looking up at the large blue male, her emerald eyes smiling, she reaches up and lifts the mask from his face. The piece of metal was heavy, but without it she thought he looked gentle, like a giant without it's barbaric club, a lion without it's claws, a crocodile without its mighty teeth. She could see past hi anger and sadness, see past his ambition to that bright dazzling light that shone for her, for the both of them together. She touches his forehead with her own and closes her eyes, enjoying the feeling of his fur against hers, minus the metal that was his guard against the world.

"I'll come with you." She whispers, settling back to a sitting position her cheek pressing lightly against the embracing wing. "I don't want to leave you again." It was a hard decision for her to make, but she could think of no way to keep him close, to keep in touch with him across the distances. She didn't want to lose him again. It felt like a decision she needed to make, although, one that was necessary, she knew if she followed him she would see things that she could not stop or help. She would, after all, never interfere with his work.

"Or at least, I will come with you as far as I can, Wynn will be able to find you over a short distance." She could never follow him all the way in to his battle fields but he would shield her from the worst of it, she just couldn't leave him again, it had taken her too long to find him, she wouldn't let him go again.

Mrost actually flinched as his helm was removed. It really was one of his true defences, the faint line of a scar under his fur slicing from above his right eye, over the bridge of his nose and down his left cheek, like a lightningbolt. It was one of his most significant weaknesses, an injury which followed him from incarnation to incarnation. But he trusted her, he had to, he had no one else to trust, he couldn't find his generals again, he'd tried, he was alone for the time being, a general without an army. He had to begin again, had to rebuild. He wanted her there with him but deep down he knew the reality of things.

"I want you to be with me. I do. But there is so much that I do, so much I represent, things that would tarnish you by association. All that you do and represent is light and pure, could you stand idly by and permit the defilement that a true war would bring, murder, subterfuge, all mothers and their sons, the spoils of the victors, physical or material?" he frowned slightly. "I would end up using you, without even realising it, you would end up being the bait to bring trust to my causes. And I would end up hurting you in many ways, seduction is but one way to bring mortals to my side. It is my duty, I cannot shirk it, but at the same time it isn't my wish you have to witness it"

He raised a heavy gauntleted paw to pat her back, running black claws never fully retracted through her fur.

"If you insist I cannot deny you, I could never deny you, but I beg that you think about it, there is so much I do in my line of work that might set us directly at odds."

She looked up at him, staying still for a moment, looking deep in to his electric blue gaze, following the line of his scar. She knew he protected that scar so well, the helm he wore protected him, it was a shield and without it he was defenceless. She loved that he let her see his true self. Who he was under the pride and bravado.

Listening to his words it broke her heart. She knew what he was, what he had to be it was against his nature just to settle in one place not to see his plans come to fruition, not to long for the battle field and see the suffering. "You're right." She turns her gaze away from him sadly, that moment of foolishness wanting to follow him in his endeavours, it was stupid, it was like she was some silly cub following it's mother, she was older than that, wiser than that, she loved Mrost, who he was, but what he was, was something her own domain would always clash with, it didn't matter to her the what, but she knew her domain could not be tied with war, it was not her way.

"Know though, know that if you ask me to come I will, no matter where you are no matter the situation you're in. Lets not be apart again." She pauses for a moment lifting her eyes, tears welling in her emerald gaze. "Stay with me tonight? And when the moon shows this phase again meet me here no matter what? No matter what you are doing, no matter where you are come here, come back to me?" She questions, leaning forwards to busy her pale head in to his thick mane.
