Food's a very important thing, particularly when you have small children. They need to be put in the habit of eating the right things and exercising to work off the effects of the wrong things. And since Lam's family tended to like eating a good amount, she had decided to take Cookie with her when she went grocery shopping, thinking it'd help her figure out what the kitten might like.
Cookie was curled up in the cart's basket and looking in all of the aisles they past. As she had no legs, she didn't have to stick them out of the front holes when she was put in the cart, and could easily face the way her Mama was. There were so many colorful things! And different smells! It was a very exciting trip for her.

"Mama, want that!" the little boy said for what seemed to be the umpteenth time, arms reaching for a brightly colored box of cereal with a toucan on it. "Want it! Peas?" He looked up at his mother, pouting slightly as he did his best to look as cute as possible.
Marika chuckled, shaking her head. "No, silly. You've already picked out your treat. Besides, I doubt that has any nutrients you need." She said, ruffling his hair. Their cart had a rather odd assortment of food; Soy-Yum blood substitute, Coca-Cola, Freeze-Dried Veggie Blocks (Vitamins Added!), and Cheesy Poofs.
"But want. Pretty!" Jeron said, pouting and crossing his arms. This was not fun! He was stuck, sharing a seat with his meanie-head sister where he couldn't run about to explore, and he couldn't have pretties! "Fine." he said, shrugging. He'd get different pretty, then. Maybe something shiny? Or colorful? Or both! With sparklies, too.

Cookie and Lam were just heading by that aisle, the blonde woman trying to pick which sugar cereal she wanted this week, when the infant spotted another kid her age.
Mewing loudly, the pink haired girl reached out her hands towards Jeron. He looked interesting! Lam glanced down and laughed, patting her kid's head. "Cookie, you don't just grab and mew at people. You have to say hello first." she teased, turning to smile pleasantly at Marika and family.
The tot looked at her mother funny for a bit before mewing again and waving at the other children.

Jeron blinked, looking at the kitty-snake-girl....thing. And ohmigosh, she had pretties! Pretty hair, pretty bells, and pretty bows! "HI!" the little boy greeted, loud enough that his mother wouldn't be surprised if people in the parking lot hadn't heard. The little boy paid no mind to his mother's wince, waving at the other girl. "I Jay-won. Who you?"
Caroline was not amused. The little Zurg all but ignored everyone, chosing instead to try and unbuckle herself with little success.
Marika offered a bright, fangy smile at the Lam, waving once before looking at the little one. Aww, wasn't that little girl just adorable! What a little sweetheart~

Cookie meowed a little and waved back at Jeron. Lam smiled down at him, "She doesn't speak much I'm afraid, but her name's Cookie." the woman stated before grinning up at Marika again.
The pink haired tot crawled over to the edge of her cart, leaning out to reach for Jeron's hand. Lam had to reach forward to catch her tail so the girl didn't end up falling out. That would result in bouncing or injuries and neither would be good here.
